Hello everyone - from 3:46 onwards you get the gist of it,
This would've been up sooner, but the software just isn't as ambitious as I am.
Couldn't render it properly the first 5 times. The struggle is real. haha
*Quit Smoking* - Want the change! It has to matter a whole lot to you.
When you feel the urge, distract yourself. Ignore it. Don't have cigarettes near you, anywhere, anytime. Stay away from your 5 min-break-smoke buddies for a couple of days (favorably atleast 10). Even just smoking passively gets in the way of your newly found ambition to improve your health.
If honesty is an option, tell them you quit smoking, even if it was just that day & they ask "Since when?" I understand that some of you might not be ready for that confrontation, especially when you may doubt your own success. Just say "I can't, sorry, but I'm incredibly busy this week." & keep staying away from the smoke you breathe in passively (huge cue / trigger!).
Remember how we covered that one should speak through their actions and not talk about achievements one hasn't reached yet? It's disarming people, people who might act as if they care for you, when they do not. You prevent them from sabotaging you. Think about it. They smoke, even though they know it's bad for them & now you want to stop doing it yourself. Why would you expect support from them (unless they're genuinely good people)?
The best way, of course, still is to just tell the world that you quit smoking and that that's that. When you actually mean it, that mindset alone might be enough for you to quit a bad habit for good.
Get hooked on a good habit like moving your body, in whatever way, shape or form. Drink lots of water daily. The benefits are endless and even if this may sound like commonsense to you, there's lots of people who only drink sugary beverages, who don't exercise and only consume destructive shit.
Before anyone says "it's not easy" again. It fucking is if you believe it is. Don't underestimate the power of the mind. It's not only doable, it's a walk in the park with the right attitude. Thinking "it's not easy" is already a sign for failure.
    Flowchart - goo.gl/JWv2qg
Push through the starting period & keep at it,
    Nenad (illacertus)
PS: Ever notice how many freshly baked fathers & mothers *quit* smoking in a heartbeat after years of trying? They thought about their children. They thought "I'm doing this for my sweetheart(s)!" "I'm going to be a role model to these kids!" We love the people close to us more than we love ourselves. Commit to quitting a bad habit not only for yourself, but especially for your loved ones.

here's a few things for quitting smoking to try
Get motivation and support from peers.
Just do it - you will feel better by doing things - especially by doing things that stretch your boundaries and this will keep your mind off cigarettes
(I discovered these and more ideas on Avyan Smoke Tactics website )

I appreciate the sentiment of this video, but I somehow feel it might be (dare I say) lacking. Part of the problem (if it is one) is that only a small percentage achieve their goals of changing habits such as stopping smoking. Part of the problem (as I humbly see it and others i.e. psychologists have too) is that people see change as an all or nothing proposition. I think we can all agree that we want the end result to be that. But on the way to our goal most people will stumble and then (because they see themselves as completely failing) they give up. New Years resolutions are an example of this (with countless articles discussing this) .
While I very much agree with your video here, I feel like that two qualities that are also needed are "resiliency" and "tenacity" perhaps mixed into a potion! Perhaps resiliency against the effects failure and tenacity to find a way to pick yourself up from failure. I do not know myself as I have just started trying to dissect this aspect of this myself. But I feel like that this is a rich area to look at as even though it is a small percentage that seems to succeed in changing their habits, it's not impossible to be a part of the wanted success.

metatech (if it means anything the 2 minutes you took to right this has pulled my confused brain out of mental crisis and fight with itself) a month later any new insights??!! because how you worded this made sense to me after so many failed attempts at trying to fix some issues with my ambition conflicting with my perceived limitations. Instead of thinking of how I can improve my controllable limitations I found comfort in thinking I'm too ambitious and almost fell down a slippery slope that would of given me the perfect excuse to procrastinate for the rest of my life.

Splendid work as usual. For a smoker, the people you hang out with is the first habit you must change so you can tackle the root habit. I believe the most addictive habits are related to other underlying micro-habits, let's say porn: a person thinks that the porn is the main problem but if you dig deeper, you find out that the internet is the problem. He's gotten used to sitting in front of the computer the second he's awake(cue) thereafter urges get triggered. It became automatic. Perhaps replacing other (micro) bad habits can ease the process of eliminating the hard ones.
Thanks for yet another great video.

Speaking of smoker's cues in the book "Buyology" by Martin Lindstrom, the author found out through fMRI scans that the advertisement AGAINST smoking using disgusting pictures of lung/throat cancer and other diseases actually trigger the smokers to crave their cigarette rather than stopping him. The more disgusting and memorable the picture the more likely they will smoke again.

Fear is a tool that you can use to manipulate yourself i.e. your will power. This is an observation from my personal experience of quitting smoking. I smoked for 6 years, tried quitting many times; each ended in a fiasco.
So one day I had experienced sudden breathing problems after walking up the stares to the first floor. It was frightening because at that point I thought that I got cancer or some other serious condition. Although it was nothing I really became afraid about my health and decided to quit that moment. Whenever I experienced urges to smoke I used fear as a counterbalance.

Put your cigarettes pack about 2-3 Kilo meter away from your house, when you get a cue, stand up and walk to your cigarettes pack, you will relax before reach em, and if you can't walk just watch the time for 3 minutes count (that's the cue moment is tricky) it can make you feel it's very long cue if you don't watch the time and count it, and watch out between the 2-3 day and the 7th day these are the most hard cues you'll get, between the second the third it'll be the highest amount of cues you'll get around 7 at that day and it'll get lower gradually in the seventh day it will spike and it will be very narrowed cue you'll feel, but hey it's only a cue, just keep your eyes on the timer and count 3 minutes or walk for 3 minutes, how ever there's some apps for making you busy with your hands some app that is for smoker and has some rewards, if you pass the 7th day you are in safe zone, ( i have tried some times but i was only get back smoking between 2-3 day or in the 7th ) now i'm free for 5 years,
    Good luck .

Breathing exercise! I notice when you smoke you are inhaling. When smokers are not smoking they look like they're hardly breathing. They can't wait to light up that cigarette to start inhaling or breathing. They should learn breathing exercises so they can relax and not relay on cigarettes to relax.

Jose Antonio Pineda Castro - Sorry mate your wrong, do heroin for 3 days straight then you can kiss goodbye the life you knew. Trust me you don't even want to go there once, let alone 3 times running. As a woman who has been there and survived by her wits, only just, then made it out, I'm still paying the price 15 yrs. later. Its truly an EVIL substance, only because of the amazing feeling that goes through your whole body, like a full body orgasm, which I do believe people think they have experienced but really haven't. As that involves 2 people that have a deep connection and it is not easy to achieve, I'm sure if it was there would be no one chasing the dragon, which by the way is what a heroin addict keeps chasing but never finds again, because those first few days can't be replicated, but by then you have another reason for chasing, the withdrawal's are hideous and painful. So stay away from the EVIL miss, in reality she's BITCH.
Her claws don't settle skin deep, its all the way past the tissue and smack into cellular level.
There is nothing dainty about our EVIL MISS.

What steps would you recommend in order to tackle internet addiction? It's not like smoking or any other commodity you can just stop using. We use the internet everyday and unfortunately unplugging is not easy/possible. Especially when everything you do, is with the internet (i.imgur.com/PUHZo.jpg).
