      @@notknown234 a football team isn’t a belief. It would have been no different if you said “I like pizza and my friend doesn’t like pizza, but we don’t start wars with eachother.” Religious beliefs are essentially beliefs on how we should behave and treat eachother, or as UG says, all religious beliefs are born out of the question “How to live?” So everybody is always trying to impose their way of behaving and living on others.

      @@notknown234 all the games, olympics etc are there in order to consume your egoic drive. All government are human farming operations. They have been promoting all these cultural events in order to keep you from having an interest on what is actually going on or asking yourself the deeper questions of life. In order to maintain the hierarchical structure people must pe obedient to it otherwise society will fall apart. The problem is that the big cultural structure permanently seeks expansion and in expanding encounters other hierarchical structures that's when hell breaks loose and wars start. See the wars in the middle east and more recently Ukraine. On the surface it is claimed that these wars are about democracy or to prevent some fictitious threat but in reality they are fought for the expansion of the thought structure and the influence and reach of corporations that dictate the agenda and make the calls. It's all aimed towards a legal robbery of the planet for profit gain.
      Your government will always preach love and compassion and tolerance but that's for the sole reason that it's bad for business.
      You and your friend supporting different football teams are just two fish in a bowl.

  • @Theddyfield

    What a brilliant guy! Hit the nail on the head - you make the followers/someone else look bad because you believe in Jesus. Its just a matter of belief. But its perfect when he says that no society or people can completely conform to either the system of politics, religion or law because these are based on beliefs that are values and ideals of "some" people. And surely others cannot live upto "all" the values of these systems just the way its intended. Nature doesnt work as a man made system. Nature is random. Every person is unique and behaves as per his or her own belief. Manipulating ones belief to fit the system wont create a harmonious environment in the society. It only creates chaos and discomfort at the end where the system ends up becoming dysfunctional and thereby only creating problems and not solving them. So its better to have a "system" where one has their own belief and own god. Finally I think I can accept UG and Alan Watts as my gurus :) Super!!

    And the western people are putting him on this pedestal because they like liked to be shocked and amazed! Tho I agree, they created a more advanced version of human life using science and technology. Tho that has led only few with strong intellect to come at the forefront, and placed a consistent pressure on the humans to perform and prove themselves in the capitalistic society! Void is just throwing out bodies as humans and we become mere numbers in this vast space of cosmos merely on this earth running confused and bewildered!
    People ONLy talk about spirituality whether Asians, or Americans but they are mostly interested in money, fame and running in a rat race! Pain alone allows to wake up! Until then we just want to get entertained!

And these divisions only as UG said clearly CREATES further animosity and otherization! They dont realize that in a way they ALL are fundamentalists!
    We are just ONE human species migrated and mingled and mixed for ages! Please read Who we are And How we got here!, New age science already now is adding to this understanding of our interdependence and interconnectedness. There is nothing more to it......

    The oddity is that UG often says he’ll never understand how people can be so gullible as to be preyed upon by those selling their religious wares in the marketplace. At the same time he clearly states over and over that there is no individual there and thus there can be no one that being preyed upon. In the context he has manufactured it would be more accurate if he said that the mechanism is playing a game with itself, where it is fooling itself and creating a scenario where certain apparent selves prey on the gullibility and credulity of other apparent selves in order to ensure continuity. Both are different aspects of the same illusion. It’s very funny because he says he will never understand this and he often seems puzzled by this yet says it’s a very mechanical thing. He also says there are no thoughts and then proceeds to blame everything on thought. He says most thoughts are about thought but even that is a thought. Another flaw with his reasoning is that on one hand he says death is a definition. What he seems to ignore is that everything else is a definition as well. All of what he states with such confidence is the same. It’s all invented labels and definitions. Peace is a definition. The body is a definition. And it goes on and on.

      +Ferdinand Alexander What most people don't understand about Krishnamurti and many other sages is that they are trying to explain an ineffable concept with words. It's like a quantum physicist attempting to explain the *experience* of mathematical insights into material reality via the written word.
      Ultimately Krishnamurti is speaking about an *experiential* state that some people approach or attain via meditation.
      Krishnamurti was a brilliant guy, but I think that listeners to Krishnamurti need to attempt meditation in an attempt to approach a state of "oneness", a s best one can. That will help one gain more value from Krishnamurti's insights.
      That said, by carefully following many of K's talks, one can see how is attempts to use logic against itself, in an attempt to deconstruct logic. A lot of people miss this aspect of his presentations.

    • @ferdinandalexander8053
      @ferdinandalexander8053 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +jsphotos U.G. never tried to explain what is beyond words. He mostly pointed out how he seemed to be functioning. It was stimulus response. People threw things at him and they got a response. Talking about spirituality, the great beyond, the void, ineffable realms was something he steered clear of as he considered it all speculation.
      He’s not speaking about an experiential state. That’s the point. If you’re there it is not experiential. it is not in the manufactured reality, the field of experience and if you are not dealing with this field of experience then you as you know yourself are not there.
      Imagine you are at one with the allness of life or whatever you want to call it. You are not there and otherness does not exist, experience is not possible as whatever is there is inseparable from the whole of actuality. I use the word actuality loosely. We experience a sort of manufactured reality that is built and imposed on us by society. Actuality would be what is actually there. We will never know what that is because once you’re there you as you know and experience yourself are instantly gone as though you never existed because you really never did.

    • @jsphotos

      +Ferdinand Alexander This is just another version of enlightenment, as taught by K. That's all it is. K talked a lot and for those that resonated with his approach, it was a way to find out the same things about other master of enlightenment taught. There are many ways to approach a sense of oneness. This is very hard to put into words, because it IS an experiential state. TM, or sitting (in Zen) - qualitatively the same things, call them what you will. Following K's line of thought, or reasoning, is a unique kind of experience - one might, for lack of a better way to say it, call K's approach an extended *logical* koan, which would be considered counter-intuitive to the great meditative traditions. They all teach the same thing, but use different methods to help people get there. Once one has "gotten there", new insights into reality are gained. One *can* experience timelessness, because many, many people, like K. teach (in their own way) how to get there. I still think K's approach is interesting, and always found him stimulating. Many others - with their own insights and approaches to enlightenment have also had a strong influence.
      "Otherness" does not exist when one achieves a timeless state, true. That said, one (again) *can* come back from that state to talk about it; to teach methods that enable others to achieve that state. K was a teacher of that kind. Some people dig him, some don't.
      Last, I don't think there is any irony in K's teaching. He's very direct. He wasn't a "perfect person". He was human, with his own desires and failings, but he had a great way of putting things. Another seminal guy was Alan Watts -a completely different approach than K, with the same goal as K.

    • @ferdinandalexander8053
      @ferdinandalexander8053 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +jsphotos Nothing like K the way I see it. U.G. repeated stated that he felt there was no such thing as enlightment at all. If you come back from a timeless state which would be a thoughtless state and talk about it then thought was very much there. It's not a "state" anyway. Regardless of all this discussion it's easy to get lost in the words, labels and interpretations and that's all that's going on here. That's why if you listen to enough U.G. you'll discover that he's consistently inconsistent. He negates every statement with his next statement leaving you nothing to hold on to and basically in his own way stating that whatever you think it is, is not it and whatever you describe is not it and whatever you experience is not it.

    • @jsphotos
      @jsphotos 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ferdinand Alexander "He negates every statement with his next statement leaving you nothing
      to hold on to and basically in his own way stating that whatever you
      think it is, is not it and whatever you describe is not it and whatever
      you experience is not it."
      ************
      Exactly! Like a wordy zen koan. That was K's special genius. Some people need more than one line koans. K's appeal is mostly to those who like to intellectualize. K had an intellectual bent, so that's what he used to "find his way" and then tried to explicate that in his talks. We will probably have to agree to disagree.
