I just took that train twice during the day, so even more views. I was stunned and can’t wait to go back. Brilliant piece of Yugoslav engineering! Thanks for this recap. Greetings from 🇵🇱 PS. Podgorica is pronounced /po-dgo-ree-tsa/ ☺️
Have you watched Superalbs Travels' video on this exact route? 1st loco broke down at midnight and the replacement broke down at midday, causing them to be 10 hours late

This journey is a must do for any railway enthusiast, I am really surprised that there isn't a buffet car on this 11 hour train and I think the stations could use a brush up or refurbishment but the scenery in Montenegro is spectacular, what a lovely country to visit
Belgrade has magnificent hystorical Railway Train station building but it is turnes into the museum now because of its importance and authenticity. The one that you saw is just temporary
I past like 200 times there from Serbia to coastline Montenegro during 40 years with car and still never get tired off views ..i travel with train in 80s 4-5 times with car-train but not since then ,i thing car-train dont egist any more for long time ,maybe i am wrong but never saw them
@@Simon-Andersen Yes i check ,its no longer going since 2020 ..it was super convenient for us from Serbia when going to holiday. We would sleep on train and in morning go with car to destination ,even if we would go only with car we always travel at night because car back then did not have AC
@@dzonikg Car wagons are back for the summer season this year, but the cars are boarded on the trains at the station in Zemun, since Belgrade Center doesn’t have that option (yet).
Its not bcs of pandemic, its bcs they close one main train station in Belgrade and open new one, not fully finished as u saw. So we are waiting for that to be made on new train station too
Would be amazing if Serbia and Montenegro started a reconstruction and modernization project of this line.. meaning overhaul it completely and buy new trains for it.. maybe few nice "etno village" stops along the way.. would be an amazing tourist attraction.
Visit the national parks in Montenegro -Durmitor, in Bosnia - Sutjeska Zelengora, in Serbia - Tara mount. Near the borders of Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro, nature is the most beautiful in Europe. There are also the Drina, Tara, and Piva rivers, which are beautiful. I suggest rafting on the Tara River in the month of May, and on that occasion you should set aside 15 days to visit the national parks of this part of the world.
You should c back, trust me it's beautiful and the line from BG to Subotica on SRB -HUG borser Is over and the travel Is gorgeous , for 6€ you wouldn't find better train or the best view along the railways. Thank you for your videos and I wish you and your family all the best for the future. 👍👋🇷🇸🇩🇰

There’s a night train available year-round and a daytime train during the summer. On the night train, especially in winter, you’ll miss a lot of the views, so it’s best to check the timetable and sunrise/sunset times. The most scenic stretch is between Podgorica and Prijepolje.
Realy nice video. I understand, that its hard for you to pronounce the village or city names there but it's funny that you just scip some usual letters like "podgozia" instead of PodgoRica. :D
Serbia and Montenegro are slowly working on building integrated border crossings (at least on the roads) so hopefully in the future they might figure out a solution for the train as well.
No not at all! I think your hostel / hotel is supposed to do that on the day of arrival into Serbia for you. If you're staying somewhere else you have to do it yourself at police station afaik

That was one of the most iconic routes in ex Yugoslavia. Your choice is pretty good.

Fantastic journey! The tracks seem to be in a great condition.

Did you like the Skadar lake, between Podgorica and Sutomore? It’s beautiful, railway passes right next to it
Yes its cool! I saw it a bit more on the train back from Bar to Podgorica

Update: the Belgrade Center railway station building is almost finished from the outside as for now :)
Great to hear! Thanks for the update :-)
very nice, about to take it in a month! How big was the delay in the end?
About 1h if i recall correctly
Great video, does this train run in the daytime?
Yes but only in summer from June to September
@@Simon-Andersen Thanks
I really hatte how all the train are tagged. I would pledge for death penalty for taggers
Nice video but getting up at 3am (scheduled) for a border check and 50 minutes later for another sure doesn't make for a good night's sleep
Yeah sadly this is one of the main drawbacks. If only they could be done while the train was moving or the night before

Those locomotives are not soviets but Romanian built in craiova
