    Yooo thanks for the profile! I've always thought your photography background is what really defines your work. You found your own photographic style in the real world and now you're applying it to the worlds you create. Really enjoy hearing your perspectives 🙂

    Awesome tutorial! I think the tip about picturing yourself as a photographer in the scene and where you would naturally stand is good advice. I also think you have a great sense of scale in your compositions. It would be cool to see more long form tutorials similar to the temple video you created. I’m curious to know how you did the glow behind the moon in this composition. Thanks!

    Really enjoyed this video. I have many years of design experience and yet you helped me remember to have strong supporting elements and principles like Lines in this case. I almost laughed out loud when you had a model behind your camera! I literally was thinking to do the same thing when you were just discussing how 24mm is human eye range and I thought since I want my pieces to be as if I saw them I'd make a 6 foot rig with the camera parented to the eyes of the model...and in the next section you beat me to it..haha.
    Thanks for all the advice and things to consider. I hope my future renders and animations will have a more dramatic feel

    You have a healthy balance of Art(thought) and Craft(technique) in your approach and thoughts , thats amazing man , love your videos , so much to learn and i end up applying it to my primary art too which is not CG or Graphics :) ...look forward to your videos !

    What you said is pretty insightful and accurate, basic knowledge like composition, lighting etc., will contribute greatly to the quality of final product, even without relatively good software skills.

    These uploads have helped a lot! You're definitely my favourite blender artist
    I've noticed you always have really good looking characters, and that's something I've sort of struggled to find in my own work
    Where do you get them?
    If they're paid, how expensive are they? Because I really don't want to spend much money but if it was for something like this I probably could spend a bit
    Anyway, thank you!
    Love your videos, I found you a good while ago now actually and I've been enamoured by your renders since day 1

    A good photographer is much more likely to produce a good render than a good 3d artist with no experience with camerawork.

      I feel like to be a good 3d artist you need to be able to do some composition tho

    • @SkinnyBlackout
      @SkinnyBlackout ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FM_MC Not really. There was a period in my life when I was a kid when I did nothing but 3d sculpting and had no idea about good composition. There are a lot of great 3d artists who specialize in one thing.

    actually, focal length (from what i understand, correct me if i'm wrong) is the size of the lens of a camera, it's changing the relation between foreground and background, the field of view, and also changing how prominent lens bowing is. it may look zoomed n but that's because the physical size of the lens is bigger (and longer) so you compensate by pulling back the camera. also focal length determines how wide your depth of field is.

    I wish I knew how to make a beam of light on a planet like the one in the thumnail, would I use materials or just an emissive object behind it? So many possibilities

    is there an easy way to keep essentially the same view while adjusting the focal length? Like an automatic way for the camera to shift forwards/backwards to compensate for the change in zoom?

    • @drunkenmuse
      @drunkenmuse ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you use the Photographer addon there is a dolly zoom function under [Lens] where you click on the point you want to remain in place and drag left/right for the dolly zoom effect like you describe. I use it all the time for framing.
      There is also an older addon called "Dolly Zoom & Truck Shift" which should work similar, but it was years since I last used it so I can't vouch for it.
      (You could also try searching "dolly zoom blender" as there might be a more vanilla solution available)
