Very helpful, if they didn’t tell me the part about previously permed hair needing acid wave I’d feel different tho. My hair is naturally curly coils even but it has been permed as well. They didn’t talk about the water test but I already know about and tried it so I could understand.

Hi! Congratulations for the channel and the excellent content! I would like to know if acid perms still cause allergic reactions such as dermatitis or if manufacturers have developed more gentle products for the skin.

What about fine non bleached or treated natural blonde hair. What ph would that be? would Acid or Alkaline be better?

Hi. I am allergic to ammonia perms. Could you please suggest an alternative brand for me? Thank you in advance for your response. New sub here, really like the videos, clear and informative 👍

Yes, there are perm solutions available in the market without ammonia. These solutions provide an alternative for individuals who are sensitive to ammonia-based products. On the other hand, ammonia-free perm solutions have a lower pH, resulting in looser or softer curls or waves.
      Here are a few brands
      1. Zotos Acclaim Plus
      2. Quantum Riveting Reds
      3. Schwarzkopf Professional Natural Styling 4.Glamour Wave
      5. ISO Option 2
      6. L'Oreal Professionnel Dulcia Advanced Ionene G Perm

Excellent video my hair is porous, slightly frizzy damaged and is bleached with full head highlights.. but i wouldnt say its severely damaged but slightly.. do the four components have to be from the same brand and what brands do the whole set for my type of hair which is the last example needs acid 7.2 where can i get this from . Im from the uk thank you

Hey there! It's generally recommended to use a complete set from a brand that specializes in perming bleached and porous hair. This ensures compatibility and safe results.
I'd suggest looking for one with a low pH specifically for bleached and porous hair.
It's importance to be cautious when dealing with bleached hair. It's always best to seek professional guidance, especially with unpredictable processing times with bleached hair that's porous. Even us pros can feel the nerves sometimes! 😉 If you're unsure, it's wise to consult with a hairstylist who can assess your hair's condition
Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Hi! I have got a quick question. When I did your test, the cuticle was smooth and glassy. I have around 25% gray hair. Because I have known for some time that I wanted to perm my hair, it has been a couple of years at least since I have colored my hair with anything that requires developer. However, some years ago I colored my hair with hair color that had ammonia in it, and I was allergic to it! I don't want my head to EVER itch like that again! Does that mean that I would be allergic to perm solution with ammonia in it, or is the percentage of ammonia less enough that it would be okay? ...If I go with an acid perm, will it "take" on 25% gray hair? And, since acid perms produce "soft" curls, does that mean that I shouldn't attempt anything tighter than a body wave? Thanks so much! I am sorry that this was so complicated!

I would suggest trying a patch test with your intended perm solution. Apply a small amount to the back of your neck. That should be a reasonable indicator as to wether or not you should proceed with your perm. Good luck.
