The folks in the area are so lucky to have someone like Chris to call on when they need dirt work. Hope they appreciate him. I had a good friend and professional carpenter pass away from that God Damn cancer at 49! Still hurts! R.I.P. Dan, it was a blessing to know you.
I love the pond jobs videos. It would be cool if you could set up a separate static camera off to the side somehow, to record the whole process and be able to time lapse the whole job at the end of the series. Anyway, still love seeing the dirt dug and learning why.
Happy to see you back, the vacation was very entertaining, some crazy stuff you guys found lol. This pond will be epic. Chris, you have really grown your business a lot since the linkbelt days.
I Meet Chris at the Yoder & Frey auction this year, had a nice talk with him and he a very down to earth guy and enjoyed meeting him, and the auctions was great too !!!!
Never in my life did I think I would be excited to watch a random guy playing in the mud... I have been watching for a while. I enjoy your voice and that south eastern drawl you have... I think a lot of us would like to hear stories of the funny stuff you have run across... Curious how many videos this job will take... Which is a drop in the bucket compared to the actual time it takes ... ☮️
This is like the third large pond/lake maintenance or construction video I've watched. I have no interest in heavy machinery, I haven't fished in years, and Lord knows I have things i should be doing. I love them. They're soothing or something.
An interesting thing about dams is that it doesn't matter how many acres of water there is - how strong a dam has to be is ONLY a matter of how deep the water is, at the dam. A half-acre pond that's 10 feet deep will need a dam that's twice as strong as a 10 acre pond that's 5 feet deep. That's because water pressure is what the dam has to hold back & water pressure is proportional to depth.
Mechanically yes, but I believe dam engineering standards change with water volume change because of the risk associated larger volumes of water. I'd love to hear someone else's input on this matter too.
Water pressure is mainly on the bottom all the weight of the water is on the floor of that pond that's why dams are more sensible to fix. Easier to take pressure off.
Nice aerial shot, that pond is huge and looks like a couple areas are eroding out pretty significantly. Looking forward the series on this one for sure. Thanks for the ride along.
Well, here we go again. Another fascinating pond job by Chris and his Uncle John. I don't know why but I sure as dog stuffin's love watching Chris when he's in his zone working a pond build or rehab. This one comes under Pond damn restoration widening.
Awesome, looks like your back in your element now Chris, gonna be a sweet project, look forward to seeing the series of videos from this pond job, thanks for sharing an sharing awesome content 💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm from the Czech Republic and we have been building ponds for about 1000 years here. When I see some of the techniques you use in the US I'm just Laughlin g. You should come over to my pond and learn how to do it the right way 😂
Been waiting for this job! Chris, any plans to get your own compactor? Can't wait to see the "new" dozer in action. Old school equipment is just plain fun to see working.
🤣🤣 "got good flow! Cleared up nicely... & look like the pond has gone down.... an inch!" Lmfao!!! Chirs you are just a gem to watch and so beyond entertaining ❤️
Welcome back from vacation. From the videos it sure looked like you, DP and Clint had a lot of fun. This new job looks exciting. I'll be looking forward to the videos as you release them. Thanks for the entertainment Chris.
Man that's a pretty place. I know when ur done it'll be 100% right. I absolutely love ur videos. Been watching u since the beginning. I swear if I was closer I'd drive there an help u on weekends!!!!!!!. Best of luck to you sir
This is going to be an interesting job. I'm looking forward to seeing all your equipment there and you'll get to try out your new haul truck. It'll be an interesting series of videos on this pond 10 acres that's quite the bond. 👍👍😀🇨🇦🌳
I know, it’s painful to watch dry ground and open water when it’s two feet of snow, 18” of ice on the lake out front and minus 10 outside! Central Ontario Muskoka Lakes. The Malibu of Canada.
Great video, hope you enjoyed your time off, glad to see you back playing in dirt mud, water.back in your element.just keep doing what your doing and get er done.👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
It is a great deal of fun and a source of frustration to watch you take down those trees. You come up to a tree and in just a couple of minutes you have it down and out of the way, stump and all. Me.....I just spent 2 hours with my little 25hp tractor with backhoe trying to get an old oak stump out of my mothers flower garden. Right tool for the right job right? LOL I got it done but man, sometimes I sure wish I had that excavator. But then again, I likely wouldnt be able to get it into the yard LOL.
Look like this will be a lot of damn work and very interesting I am thinking. Seems like a lot of overflow pipes which make for a lot of work. Stay safe working on that narrow dam.
Hi from uk chris👍👋 hope everything ok up farm etc and everyone ok 👍 this one goin to be epic job from start to finish could of caught this any sooner as looks like multiple breaches where ready at any time of rain fall but your on site now and cant wait to see final result 👍 hope your wand got new batteries for this one tho ""magic man"" main pics did no justice but the drone is valuable on main shots the shear scale of this pond great goin and thanks for your time be safe and see you soon👍👋
I'm looking forward to this one! Glad you got the drone up, cause when you showed the initial few shots and were calling it a 10 acre pond I thought, "Chris is losing it!" My front yard is that big and its only 4 acres. There was a lot hiding around the bend! I guess John isn't too tore up with you working only a few days if he's letting you use the truck and trailer. Is he getting out, is that a possible next purchase for you?
I did a quick calculation on the internet of 10 acres with average 5 foot depth and you end up with over 16.2 million gallons of water!!! Looking forward to see how long it takes.
I had to open a lake valve just like that once and the homeowner refused to let me go out alone like you did. Of course we both ended up in the lake when she capsized the boat - and it was COLD! 🥶
Was wondering where the 10 acres of water was at… then the drone went up. This is going to be a good project. Hope there’s some long videos to go with it 😉
The folks in the area are so lucky to have someone like Chris to call on when they need dirt work. Hope they appreciate him. I had a good friend and professional carpenter pass away from that God Damn cancer at 49! Still hurts! R.I.P. Dan, it was a blessing to know you.
Good job of editing in serene, peaceful music at an appropriate volume during the drone sequence. The music matched the lake setting being shown.
Your explanation of what's needed & why makes the whole project much clearer, thanks.
Love watching your pond work! This dam definitely needed a Chris makeover!
I love the pond jobs videos. It would be cool if you could set up a separate static camera off to the side somehow, to record the whole process and be able to time lapse the whole job at the end of the series. Anyway, still love seeing the dirt dug and learning why.
That's not a bad idea. I wonder if you can get a game camera to do a time lapse with a picture every hour.
👍😀
@Fix_It_Again_Tony go pros can do time lapse. I agree though, it be awesome to see start to finish in a reasonable time.
Wow, that’s a very narrow, damaged dam holding back a massive amount of water. This will be fun to watch Chris fix this one.
Its a wonder it hasnt failed before, or at this point etc. Should be interesting
The pond whisperer is back. Looks like a great project right up your alley.
Happy to see you back, the vacation was very entertaining, some crazy stuff you guys found lol. This pond will be epic. Chris, you have really grown your business a lot since the linkbelt days.
Agreed!! The auction vids are always entertaining.
I Meet Chris at the Yoder & Frey auction this year, had a nice talk with him and he a very down to earth guy and enjoyed meeting him, and the auctions was great too !!!!

I love them. They're soothing or something.
Nothing like a letsdig18 new video on a snowy sleety day. Made my day!!!
This one's going to be interesting! That dam looks like it was getting ready to fail in multiple spots
I never tire of your work. Thank you, Sir.
There are only a few things in Life more Interesting and Enjoyable than Watching a 10-acre Pond Drain. 😬👍
Every time you build/dredge a pond and we all comment it needs to be bigger and deeper, this is the pond we want.
The way you operate your machine is a work of art. Finesse and accuracy is on point!
It is an honour to watch the evolution of the letsdig18 fleet. A picturesque pond (drone views) will be a beauty when finished - lots of work.
That looks like a good amount of work . Can’t wait to see the end product
Pond builds/rebuilds are some of the best content.
This is a weird niche algorithm spot that TH-cam keeps feeding me
Absolutely amazing how much equipment you’ve acquired since this project.
Beautiful piece of property. The owner did a good job clearing the dam and thinning his little patch of woods there.
Chris looks like another great pond job! Thanks for sharing! Kevin

You also need to take care about conditions leading to hydrostatic soil liquefaction
Yep,true.
If a failure happens a thin dam will fail quicker and thus let more water go in a shorter time but until that point it's all good
Thank you elder one
Water pressure is mainly on the bottom all the weight of the water is on the floor of that pond that's why dams are more sensible to fix. Easier to take pressure off.
The 10-acre pond is back! Yeah!
Beautiful property! When a pond is almost a lake! HUGE!
Nice aerial shot, that pond is huge and looks like a couple areas are eroding out pretty significantly. Looking forward the series on this one for sure. Thanks for the ride along.
This is going to be good! That’s one heck of a big pond!
Good to see you back in the Volvo Chris. Looks like a darn good project.
Have you ever had a problem of water flowing onto other property causing damage?
Well, here we go again.
Another fascinating pond job by Chris and his Uncle John.
I don't know why but I sure as dog stuffin's love watching Chris when he's in his zone working a pond build or rehab.
This one comes under Pond damn restoration widening.
This is going to be an awesome series❗ I really enjoy when you fix big ponds , but fully enjoy watching you build the big ponds from scratch. 🙂
love watching these big projects!
Awesome, looks like your back in your element now Chris, gonna be a sweet project, look forward to seeing the series of videos from this pond job, thanks for sharing an sharing awesome content 💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
Beautiful spread. Big job. The client did a great job clearing.
That's a big pond. Can't wait to see you finish it!
Glad to see you back to work. God Bless
Nice to have you back .

Really nice drone footage and music at the beginning. Thank you for sharing this video

I know, it’s painful to watch dry ground and open water when it’s two feet of snow, 18” of ice on the lake out front and minus 10 outside! Central Ontario Muskoka Lakes. The Malibu of Canada.
Would enjoy seeing the progress and start to finish on this one. Would make a nice mini series!
Yes!!! Pond builds (or rebuilds) are best builds.
Looking forward to watching this project bro it looks a great viewing one as more equipment is needed. Safe travels.
I really do prefer this music on your drone video than the previous one.

This is going to be another Let’s Dig projects with Dirt being moved, Timber’s, and big fires. Woo woo here we go. 😁😁😁👍
Captain Chris sailing the high seas!
This project is like a new season of LetsDig18 - now I know how my friends felt at the start of a new season of Game of Thrones.
I did a quick calculation on the internet of 10 acres with average 5 foot depth and you end up with over 16.2 million gallons of water!!! Looking forward to see how long it takes.
Nice!

Of course we both ended up in the lake when she capsized the boat - and it was COLD! 🥶
Sounds like a good team effort!
@@po4RP20361 - I zigged when she zagged - I think we were on different teams!
@@Manoffire260 Lol, thats been known to happen!
😁
This is going to be a big job and some very good videos
Was wondering where the 10 acres of water was at… then the drone went up.
This is going to be a good project. Hope there’s some long videos to go with it 😉
Looking forward to this job!!
