    Chris, I'm in Ithaca New York, that's about 20 north of the New York/Pennsylvania border. in the last 12 hours I got about 10 inches of snow, the plows are out here - I don't have to worry about any rain - everything is Frozen and the roads are very poor even with four wheel drive. Be thankful for that wet rainy weather you got, it could be worse.

      Few years ago I threw a few good splashes of used motor oil on a reluctant brushfire. Completely forgot that I has also added some stale gasoline to the jug. The gas evaporated out of the oil as soon as it hit the fire, and I was surrounded in a huge fireball! Fortunately there was snow on the ground and I just bailed face down in it. Other than singed eyebrows and a bit of “sunburn”, no harm done. Sure learned that lesson though!

    Been meaning to say that you're lucky that you're using diesel to add to the flames from a plastic bottle. I've seen firefighting training vids where dousing a fire with gasoline from a plastic bottle caused the flames to flash back and ignite the plastic bottle.

    • @highkicker11
      @highkicker11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      o i know it can happen with diesel as well it just takes a bit more stupidity. because if you do that with bottle full of diesel on a hot sunny day and then be stupid enough to leave a bottle in the sun you bet your behind it will combust.

      Course number 101 in the burning fluids handbook is never allow the gasoline content to go higher than 25%. It's truly a vicious fluid at 100%, but diesel and/or motor oil needs a bit of help in the vigorous department.
