It has been quite humid & hot here in Georgia in the U.S. I can only work in my garden either in the early morning hours or in the late evening otherwise I get too overheated, but I keep trying....lol. I have enjoyed learning from you and others here on TH-cam! Still love how you explain each plant & what you do to help each one to thrive and grow. Your garden is so pretty and organized. Everything and all it's color is like a painting to admire and stare at for hours! Your end of June garden is looking great. I love the combination of the red Penstemon against the white Mophead, it works nicely. I was quite surprised to see some chlorosis going on in your garden since it is Azalea and Rhododendron heaven. I had to laugh at the Mock Orange rejuvenation Paul T style and the sound effects. Great fun and it has recovered well.
I've looked up chlorosis - I wonder if I have used a feed that is too high in phosphorus? Must look into that. Glad you liked my rejuvenation - not as refined or methodical as you would teach it.
Yes do check the fertilizer because too much phosphorus would definitely stop the plants absorbing iron despite being present in the soil. I have to admit I prefer a more gentle approach to pruning, electric hedge trimmers make me nervous close to shrubs, but hey it worked and you have a lovely rejuvenated shrub!
What lovely beds! Loved them all. Thank you for making me chuckle when it came to the Brugmancia. Thanks for the tip about manure. Here in Pennsylvania, USA I tried them once or twice, but like you, not crazy about the spider mites. They grow so beautifully all year in California, USA and I am jealous. Moving on, I love love love your penstemons; they are stunning. I grow them successfully and adore them. Kudos to you for pruning so the deutzia could prosper. Such an enjoyable tour of your English garden. Thank you for sharing. :)

Good Morning Paul, wow you have so much summer interest. My garden becomes mid green here midsummer. My favourite plants in your garden this video are the dark leafed dahlia, the deutzia and the white peony. Makes me motivated to do a better Winter clean up and start plotting my Spring purchases. Tree lily and deutzia here I come! I need a philly as well! I am going to "rejuvenate" prune a few things with the shovel and put some nicer things in! Your attention to fertilising this year is noted and definitely has paid off. I will have to do better next growing season. Cannot wait really, made worse by seeing northern hemisphere gardens on you tube! hahaha. Have a good weekend in your garden!

The dark leaf dahlia is moon-fire and was developed (in The Netherlands) by a guy replicating the successful Bishop of Llandaff type dahlias.
The Proof of Life video of Philly was a huge relief🤣 Is the deutzia thirsty? I have to say when you zoomed in on it's blossoms I took in a breath! Spectacular! I HAVE to have one! I saw one advertised the day before that had bright pink flowers. You were the catalyst for me purchasing the variegated weigelas and thinking about more shrubs as I was going towards more perennials and they can look messy and are high maintenance. Thank you for you channel and I love our chats!
I think all these big shrubs are thirsty - once I'd cut back/down the philly I could get at and feed/water the deutzia properly. I also think shrubs are less maintenance - you just need to cut them to the ground every 10 years 😂.

Thank you. Depends on the bed - I like to use horse manure which improves my light soil, otherwise I'll scatter chicken pellets and/or bone meal. I'll dilute miracle grow or tomato food for the heavy feeders such as the brugmansia and canna lilies.
@@RoseCottageColleen I dilute pellets as a tea and it smells a bit when adding water in the watering can but soon disappears. My container has a lid so can't smell it until it pours into the watering can from the tap. sorry to butt in
Hi Paul, wow the gardens looking amazing as usual, I'm not sure about the poppy looks like opium poppy, like ladybird, loving the angels trumpets I used to have some in my other garden but they don't like the scottish cold and I didn't have a greenhouse, their so lovely, and the water lillies so pretty, enjoy your garden. 👍💐💐

Glorious colours Paul, So many types of white lilies, so how about a very pale pink one? That's a pretty Hydrangea and the Deutzia is unusual too. (No career in hair then? Eldest son did that with DIY cut!) *Birds go mad for those berries: (I once made a conserve with them - definitely tart, unusual on a rich dessert.) Beautiful garden - sit and enjoy it!

Your gardens are very lovely and you are quite inspiring - you’re not afraid to take chances and try new things such as planting those potbound azaleas you were gifted (I thought you were murdering them as you removed much of the old soil around the roots) and buying tiny little plugs! That encourages me to consider doing some bold things, too.

Good Morning Paul, wow you have so much summer interest. My garden becomes mid green here midsummer. My favourite plants in your garden this video are the dark leafed dahlia, the deutzia and the white peony. Makes me motivated to do a better Winter clean up and start plotting my Spring purchases. Tree lily and deutzia here I come! I need a philly as well! I am going to "rejuvenate" prune a few things with the shovel and put some nicer things in! Your attention to fertilising this year is noted and definitely has paid off. I will have to do better next growing season. Cannot wait really, made worse by seeing northern hemisphere gardens on you tube! hahaha. Have a good weekend in your garden!

This is my first deutzia and just love those flowers. The dark leaf dahlia is moon-fire and was developed (in The Netherlands) by a guy replicating the successful Bishop of Llandaff type dahlias.
The Proof of Life video of Philly was a huge relief🤣 Is the deutzia thirsty? I have to say when you zoomed in on it's blossoms I took in a breath! Spectacular! I HAVE to have one! I saw one advertised the day before that had bright pink flowers. You were the catalyst for me purchasing the variegated weigelas and thinking about more shrubs as I was going towards more perennials and they can look messy and are high maintenance. Thank you for you channel and I love our chats!
I think all these big shrubs are thirsty - once I'd cut back/down the philly I could get at and feed/water the deutzia properly. I also think shrubs are less maintenance - you just need to cut them to the ground every 10 years 😂.

Thank you. Depends on the bed - I like to use horse manure which improves my light soil, otherwise I'll scatter chicken pellets and/or bone meal. I'll dilute miracle grow or tomato food for the heavy feeders such as the brugmansia and canna lilies.

@@RoseCottageColleen I dilute pellets as a tea and it smells a bit when adding water in the watering can but soon disappears. My container has a lid so can't smell it until it pours into the watering can from the tap. sorry to butt in

Glorious colours Paul, So many types of white lilies, so how about a very pale pink one? That's a pretty Hydrangea and the Deutzia is unusual too. (No career in hair then? Eldest son did that with DIY cut!) *Birds go mad for those berries: (I once made a conserve with them - definitely tart, unusual on a rich dessert.) Beautiful garden - sit and enjoy it!
Pale pink sounds interesting to go with the strong red and orange ones. I do hope the birds like those berries!

Your gardens are very lovely and you are quite inspiring - you’re not afraid to take chances and try new things such as planting those potbound azaleas you were gifted (I thought you were murdering them as you removed much of the old soil around the roots) and buying tiny little plugs! That encourages me to consider doing some bold things, too.
