When we told you (TH-cam comments) to flip the turbos is not because it looks bad or anything like that, it's because the benefits the turbos provides just by changing the placement. Do it and add roof scoops, will look 10 times better and will actually benefit the car.

Leaving the turbos like that makes it look like you don't know what you're doing. I get that you like it that way, but literally everyone that sees it is going to think you made a mistake. There's no reason for them to be mounted high like that except to catch air so having them turned backwards just makes it look like it's been built wrong.

Beyblade420 no on that car with its shape the air stays very close to the cars body and his placement has the turbos asking the air to turn 180 degrees. The faster he goes the worse it will get and the stronger the vacuum sucking air out of the turbo will be.
@Beyblade420 Exactly. The top of the engine bay being open will create a low pressure eddy where air will circulate, similar to the bed of a pickup truck. The turbos will have all the air they could need.

Arguably the turbo location is fine. Yeah, it looks like shit but looks are personal preference. And there can't be any performance problems if the car is just sitting in the yard. Or do you think he's going to drive it around?

random tid bit, if you keep the guides on your band saw as close to the work as possible you'll get the straightest cut with minimal wandering on the blade.
Especially when you compare Cletus McFarland’s ride that has huge HP, ugly turbos and an obnoxiously loud exhaust, and in the end quiet full weighted cars are faster. With less HP too
@Brock Mclean not anymore it doesn't. Also, it didn't run low 7's. I believe it was 7.6 was the fastest. Only runs low 8's now. Of course "only" is relative and that is still fast af, especially for something with the aerodynamics of a parachute.

TwoStupid Buddies the air flowing over the car will cause a vacuum effect at the back of the turbo (where he has the inlet) causing air to be sucked out not in. Basically he is asking the air to turn 180 degrees and it will not work at speed.
It’s not a rammed air intake bud. Many cars have the turbos faced that way. And I mean many. My one3 kit places my turbos at the bottom of my mustang wear little flow of air exist. The turbos have great suction on there own
Found out I had a metal Supermarkets like 30 minutes from my house and the service was absolutely amazing I was there for less then 15 minutes and got everything I needed
What if the turbos were sitting in their current locations, but rotated and turned so that the inlets were facing the roof(or sky), and sat lower then the roof/rear hatch line. An intake system could be designed to pipe/guide air into the turbos without the worry of direct contact from debris but still maintaining a cool atheistic. Just an idea. You do what makes you happy Chris, and your fans will support you!

i gotta say man... this build is intense. im a mechanic and i fabricate, paint reapir, maintain my cars all at my own shop... kinda like you i guess. always building something, im just sitting here trying to comprehend how complicated this project is and it's literally making my head hurt. the fact that you can mate 50 stupid italian control modules to a haltech ECU and twin turbo LS blows my mind. and don't even get me started on it's wild appearance. it makes me so angry how complicated cars are getting and then theres blokes like you who embrace this crazy headache inducing torture. major respect.
I wonder if there is enough aluminum around the mounting holes in the air-to-water intercooler triangle mounts. Might wanna check those! Love the build!

It seems we all hate the ridiculous positioning of the turbos but we can rest assured that they won’t stay there long, the weight of the turbos perched like lollipops above the manifolds means the welds or the metal will crack very quickly and they’ll fall off. The extreme heat from the turbos will likely help our plight.
I cannot wait to see how this build looks like when finished. I do not like everything on the design but the level of the work is really good! Top episode !
You'd have roughly half as much weld in there if you lapped them so not sure it would be. Roll cages and chassis and things are usually made by joining tubes at the ends like they did so I think it works pretty well. I think it looks better too.

Give tavarish a call and he will tell you to buy allot of gold wrap to cope with the heat of the exhaust and also ask him what he did with his exhaust i forgot,but it helps with not giving off so much heat.
B is for bass ackwards turbos. Everybody is saying to flip the turbos and I agree. Don't understand why you resist. Many high performance cars point the turbos towards the front. Glad to see a cover on the engine. Hope this car holds together when you start applying 1500hp to the drive wheels.
Evo 10. Dont waste your money unless you want to buy a new mechatronics unit every 30,000kms mate. Trust me I know from experience and there not cheap. 6k installed and grab another $1200 for your gearbox oil and filter AUD..
