That's what I noticed too, so many titleholders back then were pretty young and yet so wise beyond their years,. Nowadays the contestants around the same age act like Miss Teen contestants.
This was the best Top6 ever. All the girls were able to speak English. They are all smart and beautiful in their own way. Hard to pick the right girl. I remember choosing India Namibia and Venezuela for Top3.
Well ... She was honest as an athelte .. india sucks at sports except cricket ... But had she linked sports with national unity and integration... And providing sports opportunity for the poor .. she wudve placed much higher with such a unique and politically correct response.. but I suppose t pressure is high during t competition ... But nevertheless am very proud of her ...what an achievement

Miss Namibia and Miss India gave the best answer. Miss Columbia gave a basic answer. She needed to explain more in detail. Miss Venezuela also gave a basic answer. She looked too confidence and conceited. Miss Netherland should not said wow, that's a tough question at the beginning. She was forcing herself to answer the question. Miss Belgium gave an honest answer, but not significant enough. Miss Namibia won, because she was humble, intelligent, warm heart, and natural.

Top 3 (top 6 answer but OVERALL performance/impression): 1.Namibia, 2. Colombia, 3. Venezuela and then Belgium, India, Netherlands. But it's quite close between all of these top 6 ladies.
Any one of the top 6, even if they had competed in another year, or even the year after, in 1993, could've won. I think 1992 featured the most competitive set of finalists ever.

This isn't a Miss Anglophone pageant. That would be boring and sad if everyone's the same. That's why we have many countries and cultures, so we must expect different languages. The content is the most important in the answer, as well as heart and intention of the candidate. Also, there are candidates who do speak English or some English, but they choose to answer in their native language to be at their best, or simply because they are proud of their language and would like to showcase it to the world. Also remember that the MUO and MW organizations have tutors.

Viendo este video, se evidencia, que el dominio del ingles siempre se ha exigido en el concurso de miss universe; esa exigencia no es nueva, no entiendo hoy día por que los influencer llamados missologos hacen tanto escándalo por el dominio del ingles y la oratoria...cabe recordar que lo que siempre se busca es una mujer con magia, no una candidata llena de oratoria a la presidencia de la República con un programa de gobierno y con un dominio total del ingles.
Osmel Sousa jura que a esta miss venezuela le quitaron la corona; la verdad es que si bien es bellisima esta mujer al abrir la boca la belleza le queda corta.

Miss Colombia got an impossible question - still she carried it off. It's unfair that they all get so different questions. Miss Netherlands was funny, but the question had possibilities and so had Miss Belgiums. Miss Venezuela almost got the same question as Miss Jamaica the year before; and she almost repeated her answer...I fail to see why everyone is so smitten with Miss India. Miss Colombia and Miss Namibia are the best overall in this compettion. Although Miss Venezuela is extremely pretty, she gives off a bit of 'chilly' aura...but perhaps she was only nervous.
I never liked the Top 3 version!!! Because of this, I believe many participants were robbed of a chance. Had we had the Top 5 Venezuela and Netherlands would have classified. Venezuela could have rebound and possibly win. But then again, that was the injustice of the Top 3! I think the ladies in the Top 3 deserved their placements and did a very good job!!!
Blame it on Texas. There were complaints made by the state directors at Miss USA that Texas won five years in a row. So the MUO decided to make the pageant a little more unpredictable with the top 6 and final 3 format with the intention of having the possibility of the front runner be eliminated in the final round. Little did we know that they would extend this format into Miss Universe as well.

Miss Venezuela cannot made top 3 because her scores was number 4. It's shame. Only one judges gave her low score. He is Robin Leach who is Miss India got the question from him. He has gave Miss Vene only 8.6 Alexis 9.2, Leach 8.6, Makeba 9.5, Enrique 9.4, Dougherty 9.7, Duguay 9.4, Amritraj 9.4, Getty 9.9 and Srivikorn 9.8. That's why shecan't did it.
Venezuela stood out during the semi-final round and was almost a sure win. Unfortunately she didn’t really answer the question in this round and her answer sucked, thus causing her to lose a spot in the final three.
I do notice that while Venezuela was way ahead of the others in the preliminary, the score gap between her and the others started to narrow considerably throughout evening. She was ahead but the others were already snapping at her heels. Colombia won the interview round and India was right behind her with a narrow margin in swimsuit and evening gown so her lead was already slipping. To be honest, she scored so high because the judges were so entranced by her beauty. She spoke impeccable English and yet appeared to have difficulty expressing herself. She was very beautiful but ultimately lack the personality to back it up.

The final 3 were close behind Carolina all evening and in the end, they all managed to crowd her out of the final round.

Kim Alexis was jealous of Miss Colombia's looks that's why she kept giving her low scores. Miss Colombia ruled the pageant that year and deserved to win!! She worked her charm in what was a difficult question. Miss Venezuela was overrated and she was so CONCEITED!!! She thought she was going to win and I'm so glad she didn't.

Here many people are talking about Miss Venezuela getting 8.6 from a Leach, hope you guys know that the lowest and highest scores are not counted in MU like olympics, so, the lowest score of 8.6 wont be counted, so what you guys says doesn't make any sense..

@@SOKOLSODI Todo se devuelve y se están devolviendo los hijos y nietos que desde hace 40 años llegaron a Venezuela y nos invadieron casi 5 millones de sus compatriotas que no mendigaron aquí porque se les dio trabajo, salud y educación gratuita y en mucho contribuyeron a crear los cinturones de miseria alrededor de las grandes ciudades y que hicieron colapsar los servicios públicos de nuestro país y que contribuyeron votando por los delincuentes que ahora nos gobiernan. Hubo otras migraciones, a todos se les recibía, pero sus compatriotas y otros ecuatorianos peruanos bolivianos y dominicanos eran personas que no venían como otras migraciones como los del sur argentinos, uruguayos y chilenos o como los españoles, portugueses e italianos con profesión, oficio y papeles de Colombia venían sin papeles por los caminos verdes e imposibles de controlar, crearon inseguridad y vivían en ranchos cosa que otros inmigrantes no se les ocurría. Nunca escupas para arriba!

La colombiana era la más bella, la venezolana era gigantesca, eso le restaba elegancia , ademas era ancha de espalda y gruesa de cuello, ademas no respondió nada interesante, ella sola se fue quedando en el camino!!

Kim Alexis was jealous of Miss Colombia's looks that's why she kept giving her low scores. Miss Colombia ruled the pageant that year and deserved to win!! She worked her charm in what was a difficult question. Miss Venezuela was overrated and she was so CONCEITED!!! She thought she was going to win and I'm so glad she didn't.

Carolina fue la mejor que respondio junto con Miss Netherlands! No entiendo cual es el criterio principal... Miss Colombia respontio como una tonta!
i honestly think that Miss Venezuela was the most elegant during this year. Such a shame she wasn't able to make the next cut. She should have replaced India.
