    I'm a lifelong Dolphins fan because of my grandfather. He gave me a book that he bought at the Orange Bowl gift shop in 1971, simply entitled "The Miami Dolphins" by Morris T. McLemore. This book written before 1972 somehow had a prophetic understanding of something extremely special coming to the NFL and for the Dolphins. The book ends with the Dolphins losing the 1971 Super Bowl. The final line is: "These gentle giants of the pits, they hear bells other men never know."

      Kuechenberg was a good lineman; he saw four of Miami’s five Super Bowl teams to date I believe (wasn’t he there for Dan Marino’s first season but not his second).
      Along with Jim Langer and Larry Little who made the Hall of Fame, he was a key blocker that helped their backfield thrive, and also would have blocked for the rushers of the 1982 team that had the Killer B’s, and made the Super Bowl with David Woodley at quarterback.

      @icydaddy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seemyjohn spygate. prior to the coaches' speaker in the qbs/mikes' ear, teams used to record opposing coaches hand signals to know what they're doing beforehand. alot of teams did this and the NFL sent out a memo saying no more filming opposing sidelines but the patriots kept doing it. League said enough and ended up punishing the Pats hard by taking a first and fining Bill Belicheck $500k. The whole situation was blown out of proportion and actually many coaches in the NFL defended the Patriots saying they did the same thing and filming opposing sidelines was a known thing in the football world.

      I would highly recommend watching a documentary on the '07 Giants season then. Emplemon could've milked that for way more, our Giants team had everything; a hard nose coach, long term vet on the brink of retirement, a terrible start, and once the players started believing in each other, our defense played lights out. Every game was a battle that led to history

    It's worth mentioning that the 2007 season was the season of the Spygate scandal when the Patriots were recording the other coaches' signals outside of the appropriate contexts for doing so, and it was deemed such a violation by the league that Belichick was given the max fine allowed ($500K) and the Patriots were stripped of their 1st round pick in the 2008 draft. That was a big part of why many outside of New England didn't want to see the Patriots go all the way at the time. It wasn't just about preserving the novelty of the 72' Dolphins, it was about preserving the purity of the perfect season.

    I grew up in Indianapolis, watching football from birth. By the end of the '71 season I had just turned 10 and had become pretty familiar with all the teams, but I hadn't chosen a favorite to be "mine". Geographically, the Bengals or the Bears made sense, but I decided to ignore proximity. I chose the Dolphins during that off-season, mostly for a reason that seems silly in hindsight: I liked their uniform colors. But my selection and timing was just right. For years after that, my bedroom wall was adorned with a large poster of Larry Csonka busting through a bunch of Redskin defenders. And although I have adopted various teams over the decades as I've moved around, I still have a special place in my heart for the "One-Two Punch" of Griese-Csonka, receiver Paul Warfield, and all the rest. Every year, if any team starts to string together a number of wins, I start to get protective and find myself rooting against them until they fall.

    A lifelong Dolphins fan, my childhood started with the perfect season in my 7th year. You have so perfectly encapsulated my football watching life as I certainly did not realize how special my first year of watching and paying attention to football was when it happened. I thought the Lombardi was my teams birthright as they won it twice when I was very young and now sadly they have never gotten it again. Since those two seasons, the happiest I have been while watching football was the 85 Dolphins takedown of the Bears and the 07 Giants takedown of the evil empire! The futility of the Dolphins throughout the first 20 years of this century nearly destroyed my love for this game. Now, 51 years later I am excited watching my own team again and TRULY appreciated the 70 points put up against the Broncos. I await this season's ending with excitement and true hope for this year and the future as McDaniel looks to be the true heir of Don Shula's legacy. Just bringing winning back to Miami is warming my frozen football heart. God Bless Emp for making this wonderful video!

    This was a nice trip down memory lane combined with a really good story about the league in general. I grew up in south Florida in the 80's and 90's and went to so many of the Dolphins games.. My dad produced the television broadcasts for the home games in the early to mid 80's so we were always around the stadium and I still have a few pictures of me with Don Shula and my dad down on the field. I was also in the boy scouts with the son of '72 Dolphins LDT Manny Fernandez. Even in the 90's he was still a big and intimidating guy but had a heart of gold and loved making us all laugh. I have so many good memories from my childhood tied to this team and this video really brought a smile to my face. It might've invoked a few tears in the process.

    YOU ARE THE GREATEST TH-camR EmpLemon. You’re probably the only one who can give me literal chills with your editing, music choices, and storytelling. You’ve mastered the art of building tension and suspense and the all too elusive release. Not only that, but I have been trying to get more into sports in general over the past few years, and your videos on football, baseball and nascar have shown me why it is that people care so much about all this. Like modern day myths, or as close to superheroes you can get. These teams and players have legends built around them. And the passion people have for their cities and their teams, is fully displayed in the content you create. I finally understand, and I am partially in debt to you for that. Good game, cheers!

    Thank you Emp. As a Giants fan coming across one of the worst games in the history of our franchise, I needed this. There isn't much pride in being a Giants fan this year, but this makes me realize our legacy of beating the titans of the sport may be even deeper than we realized. We may not have the honor of the perfect team like the Dolphins do, but we have another honor. The perfection slayers. If you get too close to perfection, the Giants will be the team to bring you down to earth. You highlighted several of these moments, including the greatest game in our team history, and I thank you for doing this at a time when we have little to cheer for in the present. So enjoy your one-of-a-kind honor Miami. If you managed to beat us that year, then you truly are the chosen ones, and I guess we are the ones chosen to slay any threats. Another great video from EmpLemon to help the team he probably wasn't even thinking about when making it.
