As a boy and young adult I fished the admiralty pier ,then it was free 1977 cut my teeth sea fishing there, this is a great loss to sea angling in the area I am shocked at this young people need this facility to learn to fish .

Same story in Southampton. Locals have virtually no access to the waterfront. Yet we are forced to put up with these enormous vessels obscuring the skyline and belching black smoke 24hrs a day.

I remember in 1966 fishing the Prince of Wales in a DSAA Junior Competition, listening to the World Cup on me tranie. Recently retired I was looking forward spending time on the Admiralty, reliving my childhood. DHB VERY SAD!

Well done folks. Hopefully, this is going to soar now. DHB need looking into from all angles, regarding both financial and legislation apects, especially their behaviour towards disabled anglers and the anglers who wish to fish Dover.

Ignore the locals and know better. What could possibly go wrong. If I didn't think it was corrupt from word go, Bradford's transport museum what a fuck up!

I wonder,🤔 who was the genius that approved the useless, very expensive marina development, ignoring the advice of local, experienced sailors? I hope they were held to account.

Slow protest and lots of noise and banners etc. That'll cause problems for the cruise companies and for the harbour 👍
Lol... the French wouldn't put up with it would they... the moment they get mucked about they block everything... maybe we should follow their lead.

  • @davidsimpson2685

They will never have a go at fishermen or anglers .That's what I heard when the hunting ban was being debated Especially of fishermen .When we the hunting Fraternity asked them to stand with us a lot of them said i don't agree with hunting with dogs it doesn't concern us . You know what they say divide and conquer l as a hunter with dogs will stand by the shooters and fishermen it's a pity they didn't stand with us now look what's happening there coming after you.

pj collins - don't forget that mackerel is probably the number one bait, that people use to catch other fish - so it doesnt always mean they caught them. Nevertheless, I agree with you that anyone leaving ANYTHING behind is inexcusable. I just think, that fishing is a popular, sustainable, wholesome hobby. I don't Fish much myself.... but the memories I have as a child of catching my first string of mackerel on feathers - are golden... and I cherish those memories of my childhood. We should have MORE people fishing.... and LESS factory ships out there raping and pillaging the oceans. But fishermen should be decent in their actions, and mindful of rubbish, and behaviour - like anyone should... anywhere.

pj collins - agree entirely with you pj. I've never been to that pier... so it's a pity that what your saying about unscrupulous people, ruining the image for everyone else. The sad thing is though, that the port authorities, probably care less about that... and more about business. Even though I'm from a totally different part of the country... I'll be watching this story develop with interest. Kind Regards!
