Not being impressed by celebrities is the biggest flex. Remember, they are people, flaws in all. You can aspire to similar goals as some but being them, nope.

Exactly I had to learn this too. I used to find myself being so upset with my looks because I didn’t have a 613 55inch bust down or a bbl when In all reality those girls bbls are botched 😭 and that 613 55inch was free promo. These celebrities y are only cute when they have lighting, filters, botox, facelifts and lip injections.

I’m genuinely not phased by celebrities anymore …. Everyone is on a screen now. I can literally stream this video on my TV. The allure was more prevalent before they all had social media, they aren’t as mystique anymore. Especially seeing how trashy and tacky a lot of them live. Doing things lower than the “average “ person would. Ik there’s still a lot of people that are starstruck and want to be in company of celebrities and create a name for themselves to the point they sacrifice too much for it

The industry needs and overhaul this includes the movke industry as well. Being famous now is way different than it was back in the day. But hollywierd was always hot ass mess alot of these celebrities are doing/did crazy things behind the scences. Its needs to be transformed asap. K rather be wealthy and unknown.

Same streetwear, same bundles, same nail tech, same G Wagon, same Rolls Royce, same housing aesthetic, even same vlogging videos. Theres no originality with these “new” celebrities.

I think everyone now wants to be an influencer, but not to actually influence. It’s mainly just for the money, attention, and idolatry. An obsession with being the center of attention, not the legacy they leave behind. Everyone wants their 5 seconds of fame.

The allure of celebrity culture, to me, was not knowing about and having access to what in the past, celebrities used to e.g. plastic surgery, top-tier makeup artists, knowledge, wellness stuff and so on. I don't know about you, but this wasn't attainable for me while growing up. So, celebrities used to set the trends. Nowadays, to my upmost appreciation, I like how influencer culture brought this 'well-kept secrets' to light and I can choose what to incorporate into my life and be able to afford it. I don't think celebrities mean anything to me, now. I used to like Beyonce when I was a little girl, but the least she could do for me now is to sing a fire song and give a fire performance for me to appreciate her (she's not doing that for me right now!). She's only but an entertainer. I think I can't be *knowingly* influenced by today's celebrity culture because I'm only focused on doing me without wanting approval from others. I can't find myself breaking the bank to buy designer to look cool in the eyes of my peers (although I have had such thoughts because I am susceptible to being influenced by the very culture as it is so rampant). I just prioritize my happiness.

I do too, or even how they went through the opening of a charity/fundraiser, how they picked the cause their trying to bring awareness too, what they do backstage or in the background to help or instead it’s easier for them to throw an event be working at a soup kitchen for example. I find all that stuff interesting so I would love to watch or read more on that, but then all we’re gonna see are the “you only doing this to boost your image and make yourself look good”, “you’re trying to stay relevant since you’re not working anymore/took a break”, “you know you could donate privately right? Either you showing off or you got alter motives or both”, “lol nice donation, don’t forget to tell your accountant to mark that on your taxes to get your money back”, “TAX BREAK!”, “how many of y’all actually think they donated? Pretty sure this all staged just so they can stay trending and on the algorithm”. Somehow donating and raising awareness to donate is now shamed upon now? I never knew helping others could ever be spun into looking like a bad thing, and because it is, I think they don’t really try being open about it in order to protect their brand or try being canceled over it. I mean it happened with Metallica when Stranger Things put them in the mainstream public eye, and even though people were bashing them for other things, people were bashing them over their fundraiser/foundation and it’s THEE largest charity by a metal band and it’s one of the few top largest charity by a band in general.
It’s a damned if you damned if you don’t situation. If you donate privately, no one believes you and think you’re just saying that to say that so you can look like a better person, then you’re accused of being a liar, and when you prove yourself you still get backlash; if you don’t try proving yourself then you’re proving everyone right for being a fake. If you donate publicly, you’re just showing off, you’re bragging, to look like a better person, and that the donation doesn’t even matter cause it’s not hard earn money, the amount donated isn’t enough even though you as celebrity owns a staggering amount of cash so would it kill you to donate a little more?, and/or they’re gonna get their money back if not more from taxes and whatever residuals they get off posting it online on their multiple social media accounts.
I know people have always said “do what you want cause they’re gonna talk about you anyways”, but now it’s to the hyper extreme! You can hardly enjoy being online anymore, share things, or comment because trolls are really looking over anything to fight about. You really can’t even do the most mundane of things without getting harassed. You can post yourself drinking water after a workout, and some trolls will start something like “ofc the little arrogant rich girl is drinking expensive water. You know there are people who don’t have access to water right? What are you doing about that- maybe you should think about that and instead those extra monies you spending on water can go to helping others, but then again what would you know because you’re privilege is showing.” You can post yourself finally getting the promotion you want and people will clown you for it: “felt like the need to brag? Didn’t even try being humble about it.” “Yeah good for you but you do know there still is a disproportionate level of unemployment right?” “What a great post to share online when a lot of people are still struggling and you’re talking about making more money when you already were making a good enough amount already- talk about greedy” “Meanwhile there are people working 3 jobs and 2 side hustles and still can barely get by and then we have people like this ^”.
I can understand people going off when celebrities and influencers are out of touch and tone deaf, but I’ve seen people make these comments on both celebrity and lower following pages (like an account that might have a 2-3k or less following). Said part is I didn’t even have to make these things up- those are real things people have actually said 😩 it just came to mind and I’m sure others have said something similar to this, but in the words of Jack Harlow, “I don’t blame people *“who feel discouraged from sharing their blessings”* because it’s true and it gets exhausting sometimes even when you’re doing everything right”.

these new people of today are influencers NOT celebrities. Celebrities of the '90s and prior were different brunch. The reason why they have so many fans all over the world and people love them it's because you didn't know much about them you praise this Phantom person that you didn't know and it was just a beautiful moment when they told you something u were happy .
People used to watch the award shows to see these people that have money look beautiful and dressed up nowadays you can get it at the top of your finger that's why I say old Hollywood is dead and they need to revive it. But to revive it that's throw out the Kardashians and everybody else that ushered in influencers culture
We need to bring back old values. Good new school mixed with old school is a good combination. This new stuff is just not giving what it used to give. Celebrities back then worked hard to become a celebrity they pulled you in these new celebrities are boring and they're influencers. Celebrities are non-existent in 2022 it's like they're an instinct entity. The last of the celebrities is Mariah Carey people of that nature who came in at a time when Hollywood was still booming Hollywood needs to be revamped too. These lame movies they giving us is bad and all this sensitive woke culture has really did a number on American society we all need a reboot

That sentence where you said that we get dopamine from envisioning our lives through them was so interesting to me because now I can’t listen to a song without envisioning myself as a artist singing it and it sucks cause I’ve never able to just enjoy a song for what it is but it’s interesting how there’s a reasoning for that & it’s b/c my brain wants dopamine

Yay new vid 😊 I think influencers are somewhat can have the "celebrity" title due to them able to work and connect with people though the internet. But I believed they are not in the same level as other recognizable celebrities like Tom Hanks, Beyonce, Zendaya, and others. They all are admired due to their talent and work they done that many people remembered them for. There is also that ranking that people do with celebrities like A list to C list. 😦

The need to be seen and relevant really is not it. All I know is that I worry about the road we are heading. Yes we talk and say let people live and do what they want but we have to remember that as long as we are members of a community or society, whatever a group does eventually filters on to us.

It's interesting you mentioned your assumptions on the percentage of how many people would be interested in being famous. I was listening to a podcast on something called collective illusion.
'Collective illusions” is a situation where most people in a group go along with an opinion they don’t agree with, simply because they incorrectly believe that the majority also agrees with it."
There's research showing what people truly want by asking them an array of questions that are called private opinion methods that are very difficult to fake. They found that across 76 trade off questions fame came dead last.
They mentioned most Americans believe others desire fame but in reality it's not even close. However pushing this collective idea unknowingly has the ability to teach the younger generation that's what they should want because we think that's what everyone else wants 😅
    Very interesting study

I truly enjoyed learning about how mysterious and what not celebrities in the past were (Which must be a reason why because i've seen alot of ppl lately making videos and content around celebrities in past time). Now and days, everybody WANTS you to know they business because it gives them clicks. I honestly don't feel alot of "celebrities" that are out now are actual true celebrities. When I think of celebrities, I believe global, world known when most of these ppl are just West known and even some ppl who don't have social media have no clue who they are. I do not care to know about normal people lives so I truly couldn't care about celebrities. Although my career path is in entertainment, I don't need my personal life out there when I am seriously just here to create & bring an impact. That's what I care about and I feel as we lost sight of that.

I think the term "adoration" is too much. We do love and admire them for their looks or their actions, brands etc... But that's not adoration, at least for me, cause I don't put them on a pedestal, for me they're still humans just like me and I don't think they are better than me just because they're famous, cause we should know that most of them are not perfect and don't have morals

I really think if we would all focus on following our own dreams or coming up with a million dollar idea for ourselves we wouldn’t even have time to focus on celebrities. Nor would we need to live vicariously through them since we’d be on the way to achieving our own success

I’m curious if you ever talked to your friend about it. She may have had a valid reason. I had a similar conversation with my former supervisor and she got mad and thought I was being a bitch but if you had something happen (there was a death in her family around the time of the party) or expressed discomfort it may have been her looking out. Just saying the mature thing would be to converse before cutting someone off. Unless you never really messed with them like that to begin with.

I love your video! I am not into the Instagram influenser thing (it usually makes me feel sad). For me TH-cam is another things since its giving me more of a parasocial infuence. And with celebrities I love blogs and gossip but in reality when I have met celebrities (like movies stars) I don't really give a shit. I am not from America but have been there a lot. But I know songwriter and people like that who makes songs for thats in America. We all know its a PR-machine where the celebes hang out with each other since its just a goood look (like some you think are smart are'nt, bc of who they are hanging around with etc). I just think of a not of it as a show! I but yes I do still adrime for celebrities and watch bcg/badddies and stuff like that. For me its just enetertainment and never something I want to be that bad (except from maybe having more money). I Think the most important thing is to know yourself before you look for fame! Its all an illusion and is something that won't get you educated as much in life (at least not in a healthy way).
