Rene, just a suggestion. Homeless people need socks. See if you can donate them to a shelter or thrift store that helps homeless people. Anything warm would help them. Socks, long pants, warm shirts, jackets, comforters blankets, towels. If you get personal items they could use those too. Male & Female. Sometimes the kids are involved. This beats throwing them away and the recipients will be forever greatful. 😊
I usually do end up donating a large portion of the clothing. For toiletries, if they have been opened/half full or not still sealed in their packaging (such as the opened bag of diapers), I don't donate them. Not saying anyone is going to dump something weird in half a used bottle of rubbing alcohol, but better safe than sorry, I think!

However I'm wondering if you like to discuss what are the moral considerations for not only returning money but other things of value, like clothing? You may have $1,200 worth of clothing, the original cost is what I'm talking about. Does anyone ever discuss the loss people suffer? It's all a sad topic. My brother I'm sure it's been well over $100,000 on storage stuff he never sees.

Well, you could see it from another perspective - haven't you stored things in your basement, attic or garage, believing you're gonna need these things in the future, but then time goes on and before you know it several decades had gone by, and you had never at any point given any thought to the stuff you put away so many years ago, unless it was in your way because you needed the space to store new stuff you also never gonna use again! I know I have. lol

If you’re garage or basement is packed full of items with no liquid value, that your family will be burdened by when you abandon it, then maybe spend some time and energy donating to local schools, artists, recycle places…Free if you pick up ads on Facebook marketplace? Sometimes the odd junk that we “store” for some future use IS actually valuable and easy to sell on eBay! It’s like treasure hunting just cleaning out and simplifying one’s life. Recommend

I know it wouldn't lend itself to good video-making, and when you're surrounded by potential mold and mildew, mouse droppings, or even just tons of dust, you would do well to wear a mask while opening stuff. Once it gets in the lungs, there's nothing you can do. You are really fun to watch!
