It's arguably pretty smart. With how Democrats have unions by the nuts, abstaining from this race is the best way to stay out of a divisive race and letting their members endorse their preferred candidate without ostricization.

Kamala met with the union prior to teamster’s member vote finished. At some point during that process, the black teamster union endorsed her without the teamster president’s say-so.

I think you did the right thing he’s fighting for his union members. He’s putting his members above politics. I think that’s the right thing to do and he’s right the Democratic Party has taken the teamsters union for granted for far too long and if they couldn’t get the commitment that they wanted out of the Democrats or the Republicans, then don’t endorse either let them work for it. They are one of the largest, if not the largest union in the nation and the elected officials need to work for that endorsement I think they made the right decision. I mean what it boils down to is that the members are gonna vote for who they want to vote for anyway so no matter who the union endorses the members themselves are individuals they’re going to vote for who they want to vote for.

I am a teamster, they had us vote for an endorsement this last weekend and it didn’t even count. All they do is collect our dues and whenever there is an issue they side with the company. They are weak!

Well that's a horrible idea. While I'm not necessarily fond of unions, they have an actual role in society where they are supposed to hold businesses accountable for the working conditions of their employees.

First Trump who says he is pro union: during construction he NEVER chose union. He only used union labor when forced. He allowed a sub to bring in nonunion labor and I mean bring in from another country. Mistreated and grossly underpaid them. He defaulted on his contracts to union contractors,thus forcing them into bankruptcy. This cost many union jobs. When in operations his labor force was mostly immigrant, illegal immigrants. He purposely sought the illegal ones. So much for loving unions. Then there’s the Republican Party. Who during the late 70’s, all of the 80’s, and early 90’s introduced bills into Congress for the sole purpose of union busting. Non were advantageous for the union members. Only introduced when they were sure it would pass. To vote for Trump or republican is union suicide.

A bit of it "could" have trickled down to the average American, but the rest was not for America. I have a problem with that. Also, he originally said that he would endorse whoever their rank and file members wanted. that didn't happen. He hasn't been truthful.
Isn't that.... what he's supposed to do? He's looking out for what would help his union out as its leader. He's the head of an organization, not the country, so his focus is on what the people who gave him power want him to do with said power.

I've been a teamster for 22 years never even knew they did a poll. With that Said i wouldn't be for Trump so might want to not excited about these polls.
