Exactly right. Good job U-Haul on presenting this video. Seems to be the only correct way I have seen it done on youtube. We featured this video in our article on How To Move A Refrigerator. Thanks.
The helper is making the mistake of trying to help by lifting. This actually makes the guy pulling the dolly work a lot harder; he has to not only pull the load up the ramp but also fight against the helper's lift. The helper can solve this by pushing the load horizontally rather than lifting. This is true on ramps and flats. On stairs. it is even more important that the helper lift as little as necessary and NOT lift once the load is on the step.
THAT RAMP IS SURE NARROW AND HOW DO YOU KEEP FROM GETTING A HERNIA ? THE DOLLY LOOKS NARROW TOO. WHAT SIZE DOLLY SHOULD YOU USE TO LOAD BOXES (SIZE 24X18X18) ?? DO YOU NEED A NARROW DOLLY ??
Know can we see how you do to go through the doors when the refrigerator is wider than the doors, because what you showed in this video is to easy, is just makes sense
Yeah, that's what I was hoping to find out too...I'd guess you'd leave it tied to the dolly, but not sure if I'd strap it to the wall...the vibrations might be rough on the freon lines, maybe just drive real slow and hope the bed doesn't wobble, of course it'd take a lot to knock that fridge over...hmm...just sayin'
Let's see. The fridge was dented and scratched before they even used the dolly, so that has absolutely nothing to do with anything. The pad would be placed around it after it was loaded on the truck to prevent the load from slipping when strapped to the dolly. I will concede your point about the dolly wheel on the ramp. They should have looked and aligned themselves better before starting up the ramp. Twisting the load on the ramp is dangerous and you could drop the load or hurt your back.
I watched bomb videos? When? Do you have a list of them I can watch? Bomb videos that is and not that stuff you call “music”. As far as the video goes, bear in mind this was a video on how the dolly works and how to put it on and take it off the truck, not so much as on how to load a truck. Maybe they didn’t want to use a pad because it might interfere with the viewer’s point of view. Congratulations on the best moving company, maybe you can now work on spelling, punctuation and grammar.
I thought it was great how his hands were moving before each take, adorable!
