We do need Luka and Kagami to be introduced, but not as rivals for the love square. I like them existing as friends of Adrien and Marinette who support their relationship.
One of my ideas is that they have to introduce the miraculous hero’s , Rena Rouge, Carapace, and Queen Bee and they should show the issues ladybug and cat noir have with the newer heros
I want to see Lots and lots and lots and lots of love square content in the sequel❤

I managed to see this in theaters but it wasn't busy so there was no screaming. A dad and his son were sat in front of me and when it got to Gabriel apologizing to Adrien the dad leaned over and rested his head on top of his son's. Which honestly made me tear up more than the movie itself 🥺

My thoughts about this movie.
1) Love that Marinette's crush on Adrien is more realistic, plus some ladynoir in there too.
2) Adrien actually snapping at his father and is annoyed with him.
3) That Gabriel here seems like a real person who actually loves his son. And I believe more that this Gabriel deserves a redemption than show Gabriel.
4) The reveal finally happening. Meaning it's gonna be interesting seeing them evolve their relationship during the sequels.
5) I'm just gonna say it. Didn't like that it was a musical. Don't get me wrong. I don't hate it for it. Just thought they could have skipped the songs to make room for more story.
6) Was a little rushed at some places. Like Adrien finding the cat miraculous to suddenly being Chat Noir. I know they have a movie time limit. But if they hadn't made this a musical, then we could have gotten more exposition for new viewers who's first look into miraculous ladybug is probably this movie. Hopefully they give us more the next movie.
7) Biggest of all. Chloé is a perfect mean girl here. They made her right in this movie.
Otherwise this movie was great. Better than the original. I'm looking forward season 6 while praying it is good. And also the sequels where I hope we get to see Mayura and other heroes. Ecspecialy Queen Bee. We miss her.
Edit: Also little Adrien is so frickin cute. And Gabriel babe. We need to talk about your hair.

I mean I love musicals, but I can see what you’re saying, however, I do think the songs communicated the emotions so much more and I think the songs really added to the richness of it all!

I get that not everyone likes musicals, BUT HONESTLY AND IN THE NICEST WAY POSSIBLE, I feel bad for them :') the music here brought me such raw joy and elevated the experience. So I guess everyone who disliked the songs missed out on that feeling ;-;

Everything about this movie was better than the actual show in my opinion. The visuals, the character dynamics, the development. It was great
THE REVEAL! Literally made the already good movie the best miraculous content. Despite the movie’s flaws, the core story saved it.
The S5 finale was so frustrating.

What I like about the movie:
1. Ladybug and Chat Noir actually feel like partners
2. Marinette isn't a creepy stalker
3. Chat Noir isn't pushy
4. Gabriel isn't a complete monster
5. Chloe is a normal amount of mean instead of a cartoonishly excessive amount of mean
6. Adrien is a realistic 14-year-old boy instead of an idealized Disney Princess
7. Also Adrien is not a model, he's a student like someone his age should be because his father is significantly less awful in this movie
8. Master Fu doesn't play favorites
9. Drew Ryan Scott singing for Adrien instead of Bryce Papenbrook (sorry Bryce, you're a great VA but you CANNOT sing)
10. The visuals

What I didn't like about the movie:
1. Not enough Plagg
2. Not enough Alya and Nino
3. The songs at times interrupt the pacing
4. Cristina Valenzuela doesn't sing for Marinette despite the fact that she has a great voice and doesn't need an alternate to do the singing
5. Lou Jean DOES sing for Marinette and her voice, while beautiful, sounds nothing at all like Cristina so the difference is really jarring
6. Chloe's crush on Adrien no longer makes sense (why exactly are you interested in a depressed loner, Chloe? He's not a model in this universe, and there's no indication that you grew up with him like you did in the show. Plus you two literally never interact)
7. No "The Wall Between Us" (why would they use that song as one of their biggest advertising points for the film and then NOT put it in?)
Maybe they were still friends as kids, but it just wasn’t explained by either of them in the movie due to the lack of time?
They did an awesome job with Chloe! As for Plagg, I don’t think his presence was needed as much since Adrien was confident in being Cat Noir, unlike Mari, and he’s also not isolated all the time

This movie was so outstanding,the songs were pure voiced with no autotune. English and French are both soo good I can't decide ALSO THEY CHANGED NOOROOS VOICE actor in the movie 😔
I also missed his show voice. It was cute and showed his personality a bit actually.
I actually loved Gabe’s break down because it truly felt like a broken man snapping back to reality and seeing what he has done, the way he looks so disheveled as he gets on his knees was beautiful. And don’t twist my comment please. I don’t like pain and suffering I just like that they treat this subject fairly realistically

Most people agree, the animation is beautiful, but give the movie credit it has really good lighting.
Finally paris looks like a city and the school is an actual school. :)
I loved the dynamic between ladybug and catnoir, it had me screaming the entire time 🎉❤
The movie was nothing short of GLORIOUS. The music was brilliant, the story was gripping and the animation quality was gorgeous 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍.
I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
In regards to the story plot, it was a nice retelling Miraculous.
In regards to Marinette, she was absolutely adorable 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. I'm happy they toned down her crush to a healthier level. The moment she fell in love with Adrien was cute with how she just realized that she had a crush.
We could see Marinette grow as she battled her insecurities and grew into a more confident self for herself and not to prove anything to anyone else.
Her friendship with Alya has more growth and understanding between the two.
It was a little funny that Marinette had this little reputation of clumsiness and being a bad luck magnet. It's like how when you make a mistake on your first day in highschool, you more or less end up labelled for it for life until you turn it around somehow and yes, Marinette turned it around.
In regards to Adrien, I felt that there was more development in his character.
For one, it was interesting that instead of being a child with no social experience who has been isolated in his home, he's more of a slightly introverted child going through the stages of grief.
He's polite but he doesn't let a lot of people in which is more or less shown in how close his friendship with Nino is.
I am upset though that we didn't see much of how he and Nino became friends but it seemed like their dynamic started long before Marinette and Alya's dynamic so there might be a bit more in the bond between the two as friends.
Also it looks like Adrien isn't a model in this version and isn't too isolated in the house as he gets to go out and people don't hound him as a celebrity.
Plus, I'm getting a feeling that Adrien's in therapy for grief.
As for Alya, Nino, Chloe, Sabrina and the rest of the kids, there was better progress for them.
In regards to Alya, I liked her confident and sarcastically sassy personality. She's stubborn but it's to a fair degree.
She doesn't approach conflict impulsively and too head on but does it in a cunning way that sort it out without a fight if not needed, like how she used recording Chloe during her near fight with Marinette to deescalate the situation by swaying Chloe to back out.
She listens more to Marinette and focuses on building trust with friends rather than assuming that she knows what's best.
She supports Marinette's crush in a healthy way but isn't too invested in romance than she is her tech, heroes and having fun with friends.
I also noticed that she wasn't too invested in the heroes' personal lives and love lives and mostly supported them for the good they've done.
In regards to Nino, he is an absolute brother to Adrien. Their dynamic seemed less like they met on the first day of school but like they knew each other a little longer.
It's sweet that Nino was helping Adrien not only socialize more but also get through his sadness and grief like a friend he can confide in.
As for Chloe, her personality is much better in this than the show.
Yes, she's a bit of a bully which I don't condone but it's more to maintain something of a high maintenance hbic persona than to completely destroy a person's soul.
Also, I think after Marinette stood up to her, Chloe developed a sense of respect that Marinette can stand her ground against her.
So they are not friends but have a kind of frenemy thing where Chloe just wants to annoy Marinette to get a reaction but respects her as a person even if she won't admit it.
As for Sabrina, she's more of her own person in the movie where she still follows Chloe but she draws the line with Chloe and even if she doesn't confront Chloe straight out but helps others when it goes too far.
In regards to Tom and Sabine, they are great parents where they are more protective and aware if Marinette is getting hurt. Sabine teaches Marinette to be more confident and Tom is more protective of his little girl. Tom doesn't gush too much about his daughter's love life and is more protective of her which is cute especially how he wanted to take her to school on her first day and made her unicorn cupcakes.
In regards to Gabriel, I would say that Gabriel's relationship with his son in the movie is a little healthier than the show because while he is a bit distant, you can actually see that it's out of grief and that he regrets it when his son snaps at him for how distant he's been. So he's aware of how he's hurting Adrien and wants to change.
As for Nathalie, she is still an absolute Queen.
It's nice that she's more outspoken about Gabriel distancing himself from Adrien and is more motherly to Adrien early on.
As for Emilie, it's great that we finally got to see and hear her as well.
Emilie is really a sweet person.
As for the Agreste family, they are really a wholesome family and Gabriel and Emilie's relationship is wonderful which shows how much the family collapsed when Emilie died.
It's great that we got more lore in Gabriel and Emilie's relationship where this time they were childhood sweethearts who grew up together.Emilie actually passed away due to an illness and it absolutely devastated Gabriel and Adrien.
In regards to Master Fu, his character was hilarious in this.
He treats the Kwamis with respect for them being immortal beings but still scolds them like a parent to their bickering children.
He has a sixth sense for when the magic of a Miraculous is being used for evil.
Plus, he gives more guidance to the heroes while maintaining an air of mystery.
In regards to the Miraculous, it was intriguing that the miraculous jewels had a mind of their own through the Kwamis power and had a *chosen one* aspect to them where they themselves sought out their true holders unless they've been dormant and are found by someone under the guise of being normal jewellery.
It's intriguing that the magic of the Miraculous takes on the form of its respective animal to lure the chosen holder to the jewel.
In regards to Tikki, she's absolutely cute, fun loving, sassy and caring but she can be strict and will give her holders tough love if it's needed in order to better themselves but won't condone any toxic traits.
She's really up with the times and has kept track of changes and is relatable with how she's not surprised that the first thing a holder does when they meet her is freak out.
In regards to Plagg, he is really the manifestation of destruction. He is a glutton, a little lazy and mischievous. He can also be a bit of a slob which shows that he is Tikki's polar opposite in more ways than one.
I'm upset that we didn't see more of Plagg and Adrien's interaction in their first meeting and that Adrien's transformation to Chat Noir wasn't as more detailed as Marinette's was when she became Ladybug.
Plagg does have his moments where he gives more or less sagely advice but he wasn't kidding when he said that lovey-dovey stuff doesn't sit well with him.
In regards to Nooroo, he is an absolute sweetie pie but he has something of a serious neutral tone to him in this as if to warn of how powerful emotions can be if not kept in check.
He speaks of how his miraculous is meant for good but is aware of how on more than one occasion the butterfly has been used for evil.
It's a relief though that Nooroo didn't stay in the hands of evil for long this time.
In regards to Ladybug and Chat Noir, their dynamic was perfect in this.
They started as absolute polar opposites who didn't see eye to eye completely but tried to tolerate each other.
Over time their bond has grown and they've gotten to know and understand each other to the point where they could admit that they have feelings for each other but due to circumstances of one of them, it makes it hard to reciprocate that love romantically but she still loves him and as for Chat Noir, it awakens the grieving feeling of loss that makes him think that he is unlovable which brings their conflict from a place of misunderstanding.
As for Hawkmoth, he was certainly far more terrifying in the movie I'll say that.
However, I think that through Hawkmoth, we saw that the holder must be emotionally in control otherwise the emotion they feel positive or negative may be the controlling force during a first time transformation and may take on a life of its own and may corrupt the host.
Gabriel wasn't fully in control in his first transformation and was mostly led by negativity which is why it echoed the negative emotions in the first victim but over time his control stabilized but mostly with his grief, anger and desperation in control causing him to fall into a fit of emotional madness.
As for the villains, they were pretty good and intimidating. The Mime and Magician were my absolute favorites.
The battles were interesting as some were light hearted and hilarious and others were serious but in all you could tell that it was a countdown calm before the storm setting the stage for a truly tense final battle.
Now for the powers of the Ladybug and Black Cat.
The Miracle cure was more life giving and mystically symbolic of creation.
The Black Cat Cataclysm was truly destructive especially as a kind of malicious liquid plague that withers and decays everything in its path.
As for the final battle, it was EPIC.
What made it even more epic was that during the battle between Chat Noir and Hawkmoth that the true power of the Black Cat's Cataclysm was awoken first.
The battle between father and son was really something out of Star Wars and I loved every second of it.
As for the masquerade ball, it was an absolute fairytale and Marinette looked GORGEOUS 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.
When Marinette and Adrien finally revealed their identities it was romantic.
The cliffhanger ending with Nathalie knowing about Emilie and Emilie wearing the peacock makes me wonder how the sequel will go.
That being said, I LOVED 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 the movie.
It was amazing! Gosh yes mari’s crush was more normal! How she falls for him is so darn sweet! Adrien’s development was wonderful too, and I loved the way grief was shown in the movie! The rest oft he kids were great but I especially loved the way they handled Chloe! Possibly because imo the show did her so dirty
I love that the miraculous had their own mind! I love it made the holders more precious and true chosen ones
Oh my gosh the ladynoir was absolutely perfection, I loved everything about it! I really loved after stronger together that moment of Mari telling herself she loves Adrien and not Cat Noir, omg my heart
Also, when Marrinette was nearly hit by EVERY SINGLE VEHICLE IN THE FRICKING UNIVERSE... I screamed multiple times. "GOOD GOD, R U TRYING TO KILL HER! CUS, IT SEEMS LIKE URE ATTACKING HER!" (Also, Marrinella 😂)

The only thing i was concerned was whether adrien actually has feelings for marinette. The reveal was amazing but you could tell marinette started to develop feelings for cat noir and adrien. I dont think it is the same for him?

As a fanfiction writer I am *really* tempted to try and do a fusion of the universes. E.G. The somewhat different personalities and backgrounds of the film but spread across episodes. A few would have to be restructured of course but I think it would be fun.

@freakishfuriko3797 I haven't started on it yet, and this would be my first MLB fic. So far I've only written for pokémon, RWBY, MHA, and Persona (and the Persona fics are old and not very good, tbh).
I do have a rough idea though. I'd take what episodes from season 1 can work pre-winter, and maybe reorder some from season 2 just so I have more to work with, and then a couple exclusive "episodes" based on events from the movie. And then Santa Claws would just end up being Adrien spending time with Marinette for Christmas or something.

Speaking of fanfiction, I would love to see a spin-off film of miraculous set in the age of fairytales/medieval period. I saw some beautiful fanart of just that, with Adrien as a Prince, Marinette as a fair maiden, and their alter egos being that of folk heroes. It would be super romantic! ❤
basically depressed man decides to terrorize people to bring his wife back , and two cosmo creatures take the form of tiny cats and force two teenagers to become heroes, said watermelon and puss in boots fall in love with each other's sides and does not know that they are each other and reject each other , causing one to question her own existence , and one to listen to careless whispers while crying on his bed , then said sad dad who actually cares about his son here , decides to give himself powers to move the tectonics plates in the area and build up pressure a long the earth , causing every natural disaster possible, bro changes water into lava , and lava into water , then proceeds to choke the watermelon , and steal its red colour and then also chokes the puss in boots and the watermelon gives the remaining strength it has to save the boots and the sad dude discovers that the puss in boots is his offspring and the he decides to give up his evil ways and then the watermelon does a Frozen's Elsa on the city and the the watermelon discovers that the puss in boots is not actually a cat and reveals that it is not a watermelon but an actual teenager , and the then they ki.....( they don't actually show it to us) almost kiss before the screen says the end , why did i waste 10 mins of my time to type this

So in my opinion, 1000/10.
Jeremy just knows what the fans want. You're right that some little things weren't done pretty well like Gabriel's screentime (it's a 1 hour and a half movie after all) but the details in every single frame were just Chef's kiss.. Compared to the show (lol don't hate me) it's so much better not only for details but also for storytelling... There aren't any plot holes and stupid things just hanging there like they aren't important... And all songs were just awesome... I was super surprised of Gabriel's song to be honest cuz I honestly enjoyed it, like it was A REAL VILLAIN SONG not like reused 'Snap of my fingers' in the show and not even looking serious...
So now, if you remember, Bestie, I've got a little theory..
So I rewatched the whole movie like at least 5 times till now and I noticed something interesting in Gabriel's flashbacks: when pregnant Emilie was shown, her necklace was pretty much a circle or sth... in the scene where Adrien was a baby, she didn't have anything on her neck... And then, just out of nowhere, they showed a picture of Adrien's 3rd birthday and Emilie closer to him, wearing the peacock miraculous on her neck for the first time... So I've got a theory for that... What if Gabriel didn't know that the peacock miraculous is cursed/broken and gave it to Emilie as a present... Or in the movie itself it wasnt mentioned that the peacock miraculous was broken at all... so what might it be then? Maybe Emilie didn't die of the peacock miraculous at all... Maybe something else, very different from our expectations (and from the show, I hope) is happening here... I'd love to read what you think, Bestie! For the first time this movie gave me the emotions I really needed to feel...💖💅🏻

the storytelling both in the dialogue and the visuals was just impeccable. so much was done so well, and the things that were negatives about just needed doing more and imo the movie would have been perfect!

I did not expect a reveal but i think it was great. Like when Gabriel found out cat noir was his son i internationally screamed. And now Gabriel knows both lb and cn identity. Im really excited to see how he's going to support adrien in the next film. I hope he hires marinette as a designer.
I think it will be interesting to see why Natalie will use the peacock miraculous. My theory is she will not be content with Gabriel finally having moved on from emile. She will still think adrien needs his mother but she wont realize till the end that she is adriens mother figure now. She will use the peacock to create amukas but my biggest question is how shes going to go through with her plan. Because if she just appears and starts being evil Gabriel will just immediately know its Natalie. I dont think Gabriel told Natalie about adrien identity.

18:11 Honestly, I've always felt that the "idea of Adrien" is more of an issue for Marinette, than why she loves him. Her issues about not feeling good enough, her awkwardness (I don't really have a problem with the added backstory in Derision, as the movie shows it exacerbated her issues not caused them), etc are made worse by the whole "image of perfection" thing. She's most comfortable around Adrien and the most herself around him when he's his real self.
Edit: Not an issue she has with Adrien, just it causes issues for Marinette in trying to be with him.
I absolutly loved it, and I think we can agree the ending is what we wanted from the season 5 finale, or a similar route. It was so important for Gabriel and Adrien to have that closure.
I really loved the songs too. Courage in Me and Stronger Together were my favorite, but I also like the vibe of Hawkmoth's song. It reminded me so much of Scar from The Lion King.

I absolutely LOVED the movie it was really fun to watch!! Maybe a teeeny bit fast paced but I can forgive it since they did have limited time to squeeze everything in! It felt SO good to finally see Gabriel realise his son was Cat noir and seeing them hug 😭😭 the show could never!! AND HIS VILLAIN SONGGG I'm so happy I didn't get spoiled for that because it was such a good time :'D The one thing I just couldn't get passed is the english singing voice they chose for Marinette :')) I had to skip her songs after a while because it was so off to me.. but everyone else was really good I enjoyed a lot of the songs aside from that! Except for careless whisper lol that was NOT necessary!! 😭🤣 Her moving across the bookshelves as she starts crushing on Adrien was too cute 😭💞💞 So refreshing compared to how she is in the show!
edit: cuz omg I also really really loved movie Sabrina!! 🥺 Like apart from hanging out with Chloe obviously she was so nice and I was so happy when she let Marinette stay hidden 😭 And the short moment when she was with the main gang til Chloe arrived! ALSO!! THE YOYO NOISES!! They made my brain so happy omg!! I like how the yoyo kinda does stuff on its own like I'd always wonder what it would grab onto in the show when she'd fly around everywhere but THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE

Another scene not shown was after the battle and in the book has Him falling in love with her other side; conflicted, seeing who was over on the other side before hugging Gabriel, he looked over to see that LB was Marinette. Just didn't know how to win her love. Probably through Marichat.. Here Me Out on this 'One' Bestie. Adrien kept his ring but - after- Peace was restored We get his comment that He misses her. This gave his heart Time to grow to fall in love with Marinette; The Time only around Marinette had him lean more into Marinette; thus- why- He wanted to say yes to the Ball this time in the 'Watch Ad'. A Hint that Ladybug wasn't around after the Battle. Als0- during after the Battle, Cat still patrolled normally finding Time to look for Marinette through talks and communication outside School and in School; A little like when in the 100th Episode of the Show happened. Lots of Marichat is probably coming in the 2nd Miraculous Movie: not sure if the songs will lessen, who knows? All I do know is Ezra declared more and more Marichat is coming! Just as the 4 square was important to the show: You will be well feed, Miraculolers!

I find it ironic that in the show we have so much build-up of tension between Adrien and Gabriel but don’t see any resolution. And in the movie, we barely see their relationship but have a proper resolution.
But overall, both finals are quite similar at their core. Gabriel wins in some sense and he is the one who makes the final decision. He regrets that he hurt his son, and he is on his knees, we even see similar sequences of his memories with little Adrien and Emilie, and he agrees he shouldn’t try to bring Emilie back. And depending on how we interpret Emilie\Amelie situation in the show and post-credits scene in the movie he probably accepted Emilie’s death. So I dare to say they aren’t that different.
lol yeah a couple more scene of gabe would have fixed it! but overall i do find the ending with gabe more satisfying compared to the show
I think this just goes to show writing makes or break a show. The movie was rushed, but ultimately had _much_ better writing overall than the show conveying the same ideas.
Very likely We will see queen bee, carapace and Rena rouge since they showed the miraculous and We are definetly seeing Mayura in the next one. Cant Wait for the return of queen bee😊

If I had to describe it in one word then its Disney! It felt like it belonged to Disney starting from the animation OHHH SOO GORGEOUS AND JUICY!! love the freaking animation! Now let's get into the favourite parts of the movie!
1. Love how when master fu was describing the miraculous there was the hologram type of animation of the ladybug and the chat noir miraculous! I just freaking adore the ladynoir in the movie like from them meeting till the last moment and their interactions!!! Like I was screaming all the time and I cried so hard when ladybug was like I love someone else- 😭😭 yh that broke my heart!
2. Okay gabriel babes.....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
That picture of him with long hair is just- I am DYING bestie I dont what it is but he looks soo freaking HOT- I WAS SWEATING- BOYYYY THOSE HAIR IS JUST SOMETHING-🥵🥵
3. Tikki singing has to be one of my favourite songs out of the movie! Its was adorable it was soo cuteeee I love their lil movements and the details!!! Its just adorable! And plagg on the other hand is like- he is a cutie pie indeed but Adrien how dare you feed him a rotten cheese from the dustbin WHEN YOU HAVE SO MUCH MONEY TO BUY HIM A FRESH CHEESE!!! Poor plagg couldn't stop farting from eating it😭- also loved Nathalie's reaction 😂😂😂 I also think that plagg's attitude wasnt that like nice? Like him in the show is mich more soft hearted that in the movie!
4. Emile....I am so sorry but her design in the movie was ain't it-
It disnt look like Emile it just yeah wasnt it! Like in the show she looks beautiful where as in the movie not at all, gabriel in the show looks the same ua usual but in the movie is so damn hwat!- Also favourite villain has to be the magician!!! Ahhhh I love the magenta hair and the body suite was amazing I would definitely cosplay as her!!!she was the queen of the movie!
5. Okay now! Which reveal do I prefer ladybug and gabriel or gabriel and his son chat noir!?
So seeing both the sides it makes me feel like it would be more logical for chat noir and gabriel like in the show we get that marinette and ladybug is the main character but as well as chat noir/Adrien? The movie reveal makes much more sense in way that 1. That's his son so a a talk between his father and him would have been the best option instead of his son's girlfriend talks to him! Cuz like now Adrien is a complete fool at this the show is making him by not even letting him know a single thing where as in the movie he aware and stops his father from doing it and also the wish!!! No nothing was changed in the movie where as the show! They still could have chosen the father and son talk but they went with ladybug instead to keep the plot going, where it would have been the same but different of chat noir did it!
6. My question is… what was Mari doing at school from then until the December dance?? She knew Adrien was Cat Noir that whole time! And just… didn’t tell him?? For two whole months?!
That said I loved it anyway. 😂 It was so enjoyable.

I loved the movie so much, I watched it 5 times on release day and I haven’t watched it since, so im making my way through the actual series from the beginning since the movie has made me so confused about the actual series. I think the movie was a bit rushed but it was beautiful. I cried when cat noir said “how could I think she would ever fall for me” and when cat noir was potentially dead and was very close when Gabriel and cat noir hugged, it was brilliant

The only thing I would’ve changed was to put more of an accent on the “ identities must remain secret”because of what I remember they didn’t really mention it and it’s a pretty important part of the show.

Omg I was so excited to watch this and it did not disappoint!
The negatives for me were:

>The singing voices being very different (more Marinette than Adrien tho) from the character voices - though this might not be an issue in the French one???
>I feel they could have held onto the ending of a couple of the songs for just a few more seconds, such at Chat's one where he's singing to the moon, just bc it felt like they rushed the emotions a bit going to the next scene so quickly
And then also Gabriel's redemption at the end seemed a bit quick, but I'm hoping from what's shown for the next film it might make this redemption a bit more muddy. Plus I'd have liked to see a little more fighting with Hawkmoth at the end, maybe to parallel the scene in the funfair where Ladybug and Chat Noir work so well together, but that's more of a nitpick.
Other than that I really enjoyed it! I personally was fine with this being a LadyNoir film, I think with how things left off, with the reveal it means the second film can be the Adrienette one, as with it still being connected to Adrien's mother we can get some interesting tension (their relationship making things worse for them as heroes sometimes sort of thing). Then the third could be about both sides being balanced idk I'm getting way ahead there 😅.
The animation was stunning and I love that Adrien had his times to shine. Especially in the ending. The sets during the songs too were so cool! The villain song was also exactly what i love in villain songs, gave me "Be Prepared" and "Friends on the Other Side" vibes.
Edit: also yeah Careless Whisper the first time being played kind of threw me off, i think they should have chosen a non memified song or just a nice score for that 💀

I already watched the movie 3 times on Netflix I really liked it because of the songs and the quality. The animation was pretty and I love musicals because High School Musical. Marinette's singing voice was really good and I love the Adrienatte scenes and the ladynoir scenes too, the love the reveal being in the movie and I love that Cat noir kept calling Ladybug watermelon and the hugging scene between Adrien, Gabriel and Emelie's ghost.
I kind of felt the Cataclysm whisper lent the power some gravitas. We didn’t see Chat use it earlier in the movie, and as far as the characters know, there’s no Miraculous Cure. When he uses it for the first time he is using it to knowingly attempt to destroy Hawkmoth because we see him try to swing at him directly. In the series Chat didn’t cross that line until the latest Season. So it’s a pretty big contrast from his bravado earlier in the movie and him grimly pulling out a weapon of last resort. Adrien’s character arc in the movie is about recovering from death and loss and he is knowingly trying to directly inflict that on Hawkmoth in this scene.

I loved the movie and i agree with your rating for it. I watched it while my fiancee was away from home for art class (it came out on a Friday which is one of her art days) and after she got back, she was sick and didn't want to pressure her to watch anything new.

The finale of this movie is how I wish season 5 ended, reveal, Gabe giving up himself, ahem Adrien actually existing for more than five minutes, Gabe actually being defeated
Obviously the wish was something that the show almost HAD to show us, because it's been referenced since we found out who Hawk Moth was, but I don't like the way they did it (I like the concept of the kwamiis fusing together and blah blah blah like the wish itself was a cool edition) I mean story wise, but I don't think I need to elaborate, I think I've said enough about how I felt about the season 5 finale
I loved the movie, and I loved the humour, I would definitely watch it again, and I wish it was canon to the show, but sadly it's not
I liked Marinette's arc, and how we saw her get more confident during that montage, I liked the croissant villain too, the time Ladybug and Cat Noir fought of the roof was such a nice moment, something I wish we got to see in the show, I loved their love duet, and I love that Adrien's VA didn't sing in this movie, what a relief. I do think the girl who sang for Marinette sounded a bit too different from Marinette, and the voice didn't suit her character either but she still sounded nice.
There were those two funny moments where they started playing that super romantic music in the background, the moment Cat reached out for Ladybug's hand for the first time, that other moment where Adrien was laying on his bed (The music felt a bit out of place for both scenes though-- But it did give me a good laugh)
I LOVED the animation, every shot of every scene was BEAUTIFUL
(Edit: Okay, but can I just say, even though Marintte insulted Chloe's hair, it was actually stunning!)
This movie is definitely on my list of favourite movies, though it doesn't beat my all time favourite which is Encanto

Them teasing each other, correcting each others technics, THE WALL THING and then HIM LOOKING AT HER LIPS (it was subtle but it was there and I appreciate the hell out of it) and then him asking her not to go.....AAAAA

I would give this movie an 8/10! The things that i wish could've been different was when Adrien got his miraculous.
Marinette literally was about to get hit by a car after saving someone else but what did Adrien do? Nothing really. It just showed up in his bedroom.
Also I wish there were more Adrienette scenes because the last scene didn't really make a lot of sense to me when Adrien just dances with Marinette even though he rejected her.
But with Marinette, you can tell she has feelings for Adrien AND Chat Noir even though she rejected him too with that whole dance scene. So more scenes of Adrien falling for Marinette would've been good.
And there also needed to be more scenes of Gabriel falling into madness because it wasn't shown enough.
I REALLY liked that Marinette had no friends at the start of this movie. It makes her a lot more relatable to me because she's clumsy and doesn't do anything right. She just seems like a person who wouldn't be popular.
And also when I was in primary school, I was quite a strange kid and I didn't have a single friend at school until I was 7 years old.
But in the show, Marinette has a lot of friends and it just seemed strange because she doesn't seem like a person who would have a lot of friends.
I also like how sad Adrien is at the start of the movie because at the start of the show it hasn't really been a while since Emilie's passing but his grief is only shown in a few episodes.
I really like how Chloe isn't shown as an irredeemable monster and yes, Miss Bustier is gorgeous.
I also loved how well the ladynoir was with them teasing each other first and then fighting on the roof and lastly the dance. The dance was sooo good! I screamed at the identity reveal lol.
And I love that Chat Noir was brave enough to tell Ladybug about his mum's death. That's actually something I'd like to see in the show. So yeah, the ladynoir was perfect.
Now the songs: The first song was good! I loved how it showed Marinette's interest in fashion and her clumsiness. A great way to introduce her character.
Adrien's first song was also good because it shows him slowly becoming happy again. Gabriel's first song was also hilarious. And I loved the Tikki rap lol.
I also LOVED Marinette's song when she becomes Ladybug again but tbh I don't see why it was needed but oh well. And the ladynoir song was so amazing.
I cringed after hearing Adrien sing to Marinette in Perfection but this song was absolutely incredible and I'd love for someone to sing this to me XD.
And then the last song was good but again I don't see why it was really needed but it was still good ig.

And since I watched German Dub (in cinemas😍) I must say it was really good for the German version! Usually I don't like German Dub that much compared to the original especially not the songs in musicals but it was really good! And the experience to watch it in cinemas (since I also don't have Netflix) was so beautiful too!! 😭

I loved the way they did Gabriel in the movie so you have so much more sympathy for him!! I actually love that Chat noir was technically the one to ,,beat" Hawkmoth instead of Ladybug like in season 5. If Lila will be next Hawkmoth then yeah she is actually Marinette's villain to beat because Lila wants to ruin both Marinette and Ladybug. So going back to what I said, Hawkmoth Gabriel was technically Adrien's villain to beat. It's also kinda poetic that Chat noir did resist Hawkmoth taking away his ring to point of Hawkmoth getting frustrated, cutting half awake Chat noir that shouldn't be able to resist but he did. In the meantime he took earrings like a candy from a little girl. Gabriel finding out his son is Chat noir and giving up on his dream, gave me satisfied feeling that I longed for in season 5 that never came to be. You are right that series Gabriel was too far from being forgiven in any way while movie Gabriel still didn't cross the line and was forgiven.

The movie was amazing. This was a W movie. I loved every second of it, I was hooked in the entire time. First of all, the animation was so mesmerising, the story was so cool. The ending was great, I prefer the finale of this movie to season 5's.
But both finale's are done good in interesting ways, the movie shows us what we've been wanting to see this entire time, so basically, we have it. But in the show, they did it differently, they left it more open ended, as a way of connecting season 5 and season 6, which I really like too.
It shows a good sense of continuity, and since it ended open ended like that, we can expect to see some questions answered at the start of season 6, to connect both seasons. For example, how Lila got the butterfly miraculous, I am certain we will get an explanation to that.
This movie was everything, and I can't wait to see the sequel, omg, I need to see movie Carapace. Movie Nino was done so well, infact, movie everyone was done so well, and omg, I know we'll see Mayura.
I am also glad we got to see more scenes between Nino and Adrien as like actual best friends, because in the show, we don't really get that much moments between them. That friendship is just sort of pushed to the sidelines and it's over shadowed by other friendships like Alya's and Marinette's, which I appreciate. But show Adrien and show Nino need their time to shine too.
Anyway, this movie was a masterpiece. I did shed some tears at the end with the whole "You have to let her go Dad" scene. It was amazing :D

I got to see the movie in theatres yesterday and I really liked it, my country's dub was great as well. I feel like I would have to watch it at least one more time, in a calmer environment to really think about what I did and didn't like about it but I'd say it's a solid 8/10.
It's interesting that you think there weren't that many songs because I've already seen multiple people complain that there were too many. In fact the two people who sat in front of me in the theatre said "nooooooo!" every time a character started singing, which somewhat bothered me since I personally really like musicals and the songs didn't bother me at all.

Hey Haze, I really loved the movie but I did wish there was an Adrienette scene which was an umbrella scene, the lucky charm is an iconic part of the show so i did not like it not being there (at least call her power in the ending as lucky charm). Loved the scene in the tailor shop or fashioning centre as we saw Gabe's work in that as he is a designer and the first time CatNoir and Ladybug meet and are hanging is reminiscent to how the first meet. The songs were great but the Careless Whisper music I did not like though the song is great not in the movie. And I wished they at least showed Gorilla in the movie, i missed his presence honestly. I did not like they did not mention cataclysm before or at least tell the word louder.
Loved the relationships between the characters but i have this question is Gabe arrested, as his voice over is there in the post credit scene. So is he in jail or not. That is something i am still wondering about. Also while the main ship of the movie is Ladynoir, I wish there was more of Adrienette, their relationship in the movie was not shown well, especially the montage.
Overall loved the movie and would rate it 8.5/10. I loved it but few minor things were just bugging me a bit.

Okay, so I have pros and cons about the movie in general but I think my overall rating (imo) was 6.5/10.
Pros-
1) The animation was absolutely *chef kiss* BEAUTIFUL! The scenes and all the character designs were amazing 👏
2) The Adrien and Gabriel interations/reveal were so heartfelt, suspenseful, and so much more realistic than in the show.
3) Marinette showing true character development and how the writers made her a more realistic character, was much needed! I definitely don't think people will be calling her a Mary Sue now!
4) Gabriel was the absolute mvp of the movie for me. All the raw emotion, along with the visual and mental descent, into madness may have been fast-paced in the movie but was so well written. The final fight was amazing, and I loved how it concluded.
5) Alya may have not been as present as in the show, but her introduction, to me, was far better than in the show and so much more genuine.
6) I very much enjoyed the Akuma attacks and the dynamic between the heroes! It showed how their teamwork was gradually developed and learned to become "Better Together."
7) LADYNOIR IS BACK!!
8) THE REVEAL! This will show up on my con list as well but I'm just happy we have a somewhat canon reveal!
Now... Unfortunately, my cons list
Cons-
1) I absolutely hated Miraculous as a musical. That being said, I'm a huge fan of Disney and absolutely love musicals, but to me, this felt so out of place and every time a new song started, I lost interest completely. Personally, I thought it was taking time away from developing Adrien as a character and also Adrienette. It made the movie feel so rushed and really only focused on the Ladynoir. I also thought the English singing voice actors didn't match the characters in anyway and a lot of the time I was having second hand embarrassment from some of the songs due to seeming really cheesy.
2) The lack of screentime and character development Adrien had was astounding to me. We never even got to see a transformation sequence for Cat Noir. The two scenes in which he interacted with Marinette, he called her weird and that was that until he rejected her. If not for the very few Adrien/Gabriel moments, we only saw Adrien lovesick over Ladybug or being Chat Noir. He also never voiced any type of attraction to Marinette until she told him she was Ladybug.
3) The lack of explanation of Ladybug and Cat Noirs' powers was very confusing to me. If someone had never heard of Miraculous before, I don't think they'd be able to fully grasp what each of the miraculous allows them to do specifically.
4) The sole fact of not even mentioning secret identities and not being able to tell the other who they are was not mentioned a single time.
5) The lack of Adrienette really kills any type of development that may have been shown in the montage, which brings me to....
6) THE REVEAL! I absolutely hated it. It felt extremely anticlimactic and pretty much shows that he never liked Marinette as more than a friend until he found out she's ladybug.
It's a beautiful movie that I personally would have absolutely loved, if it wasn't a musical and they had spent more time to develop other parts of the lovesquare.

I think I would have much rather seen the emotions acted out in a scene rather than in a song. Some of the songs felt really out of place for me or just disruptive to the current scene.
When it comes to their powers, I wanted to see them introduce the cataclysm and talk about the miraculous ladybug. I loved how they made the Miraculous Ladybug scene very impactful and was a character developing moment, but it felt like it was from out of the blue since it hadn't been mentioned in any way. I understand the movie had a huge time constraint, its just something I would have liked to have been introduced differently.
At the end of the day, I didn't hate the movie, but I'm probably not watching it again. I'm truly glad you loved it, especially with how much of a disappointment the season 5 finale was. Your analysis actually helped me see different points that changed my opinion for certain parts of the movie more than I originally thought (I truly thought it was a dumpster fire). But at the end of the day, I'll always respect your opinion, and you'll always be my go-to Miraculous Bestie!! 😘
7:07 The only thing I would like more is Adrien's development, sine he's just in his sad boy phase. The show had more dynamics in him. But at least he got to meet Master Fu, and actually fight his dad. And that he stood up to him more than the show did.
Also, Luka doesn't even go to the school, so you may as well have shown Kagami and Marc in that case.
i'd argue he got more development here, seeing him going back and forth between sad when he's alone and happy with others. in the show, he never really shows his grief

Agree with everything you have said! Honestly this is how the show should have been! While I love the show so much this just felt very natural and made me relate to Adrien, Marinette, and Gabriel a lot more! The pacing wasn’t perfect and they could have done the HawkMoth story for two movies honestly but this works just fine, anyways excited to see the next movie and for the future of the series!

Honestly....idk.. idk how to feel abt this whole situation I've been dealing with. I see majority of the fandom loving the movie soo much and i feel left out. I LOVEEE miraculous so much im like one of the biggest and most active fans in the fandom but.. no matter how much i try to love the movie i just ..cant. I'd been waiting for this movie patiently for 3 years and it was soo difficult for me to resist the spoilers and leaks and i watched the trailers like 10 to 15 times before actually watching the movie. And while i really really enjoyed and had a fun time watching the movie, i cudnt bring myself to really love it . And i feel like im in the minority so it feels weird.
I just think making the movie as an excuse to hate on the actual show even more is not fair. And i also cudnt connect with the characters of the movie. The movie Adrien and marinette felt completely different characters from the show ones and i didnt really connect with them so much. Sure, there were many good improvements here and there, but i feel like if the movie is viewed on its own without remembering all the qualities of the characters from the show, I don't think the characters are strong. I feel like those who loved the movie and are hating on the show are cherry picking the good elements of the show characters and merging those with the movie characters and making their own amalgamation.
Marinette felt more real in the movie considering her fears and anxiety. She felt like a 'normal' girl. But she felt a teeny bit bland. She felt like a basic common protagonist unlike the show marinette. One thing i actually liked tho was that she wasnt stalkerish. But the basis of her crush on Adrien was weird. Like, in the show she fell for him when he opened up to her, when he showed he isnt who she thought of him to be, when he showed his vulnerable side and when he tried to patch things up. In the movie, she fell for him just because. There was no specific reason. And I'd always choose the umbrella scene over the movie's library scene.
Same applies to ladynoir. Cat noir just fell for her cuz she begrudgingly held out her hand to pick him up. And he just ...fell? Like in the show, he fell for her courage, bravery, how she stood up against hawkmoth and saved the city. Cat noir in the movie just fell before any of the above happened. It felt unnatural.
Adrien's grief was portrayed well tho. I still dont get why he called marinette weird in a weird way. Like, it cud have been accompanied with "weird but .. interesting" or smth of the sort. Show Adrien just feels so patient. Also, with cat noir of the movie, he's just pissed off cuz ladybug rejected him? And he was just lying down on the bed when paris was in turmoil? And we don't get to see why Adrien was chosen as cat noir . He didn't show any sign of kindness to be chosen as cat noir. It cud have been anyone. Heck even nino. Why him ? Reasons were unclear. And he didnt show like he had any sense of responsibility as a superhero. Also, the ending with his dad. He looked so emotionless.
I did like the whole thing with gabriel but the hawkmoth arc wasnt portrayed well. If the whole thing was supposed to be a montage, why not just make everything a montage. The pacing was soo out of place. The songs were good but the voices didnt match and it was so distracting. Tikki was nice but im sooo PISSED OFF at what they did to my beloved plagg. To make him memorable, they cud have given him a good personality. But no. They had to choose the lazy way. Make him a fart bag.
Hawkmoth arc ended so suddenly and abruptly. It just felt unnatural. And back to Adrien, they cud have included a good Adrienette scene... It feels like he wasnt in love with marinette at any point. In the show tho, she's the most important person to him..
Also, i feel like the movie was an animated fanfic. Except it chose the most obvious path in order to please the fans and thats exactly what it succeeded in doing. And i didnt FEEL for them in the reveal or anywhere. Maybe it cud be because of the time shortage . The last battle was so boring. No action. Nothing.
In short, maybe im being too hard on the movie cuz of my attachment with the show characters. I enjoyed the movie. And i might watch it again in the future. But i will never choose it over the show like most are doing. I cudnt care less for the movie characters. I feel like if i had no knowledge of the show beforehand and the beloved characters, i wouldnt rlly feel for the characters.

To me adrien and mari are largely the same. If anything, they’re better and more well rounded, with a better expression of low self-esteem for her and grief for him, and are strong in their own ways. And the movie is meant to be non canon and Jeremy also told us many time that it was meant to be different
To me, mari falls for him because he was willing to speak to her and help her when no one else but lay was because of her reputation. He saw her for her
As for cat noir, he also fell for her courage and bravery. She saved his life despite his ego
While I can understand your dissapointment in some areas, I do think that yes you’re being too hard on the movie considering how richer certain aspects are, especially the characters
I agree with Haze. I think the S5 finale is pushing people to dislike the show in favor of the movie more, considering the movie delivered on all the main points we wanted and never got.
Also, the movie was rushed. The pacing is quick and they gloss over some things and don’t spend enough time on others, but overall it’s a better story than what the show has given us so far.
As for the characters, I think that is just something that will come about with age and understanding. It’s easier for younger audiences to like the show, I know my opinion has changed of character depth as I’ve gotten older. Fanfiction I thought was deep 10 years ago I reread and realize it wasn’t written as well as I’d remembered. You can still love those things (I do), but I bet if you still like miraculous in a few years and rewatch the movie with no expectations, you might have a different opinion.
There’s a scene in megamind where Roxanne is talking to “Bernard” and she says I didn’t realize you had feelings… that’s about how I felt when Gabriel got all emotional 😂 good on them for giving him a more human character in the movie

My thing about the lucky charm is, the miraculous of the ladybug is all about luck and creation. The lucky charm represents that, by creating something that gives the holder luck/an advantage against the problem she's facing. Without that, purifying an akuma (that only can be used for the butterfly and peacock miraculous) and fixing things don't represent that luck and creation.
I mean I would argue fixing things does very much represent creation 😅😅

If this movie was an 1 season show, with us having enough time to see more caracter growth from Nino, alya, chleo, Sabrina, adrien, Marinette, Gabriel and Natalie, also some more dynamics and caracters development

I really enjoyed the movie. It was so beautiful. The ending was way more satisfying than the ending of season 5 and we actually get a reveal in it.
I wish they could of made this a two parter. Or at least reduced the number of songs and did more character development.
