I agree. I tend to get nervous and scared that when I'm looking at him, he might see me looking back. My fear is that everyone else will see that I like him. I tend to be able to talk to men I just think of as friends. I've been trying to let him know more by my actions how I feel.
I’m 48 and have had a crush on my best guy friend since we were in 7th grade together. We are still besties and spend time together regularly. I was married for 14 years and divorced in 2010. He supported and protected me during the marriage and after. My ex was a psycho. Since the divorce we’ve been intimate a number of times and have expressed that we love each other, but haven’t taken the steps to a relationship due to other life obligations and fear of how a relationship could change our friendship for the worse. I have a type of autism, so my romantic centers developed really late. My first and only real crush didn't hit me until 19! I think another thing women do when they're crushing on guys, is to emphasize how masculine the guy is to them. Like, "Oh, it must be so great to be that strong," or "I wish I was tall enough to reach that," or "Wow, your hands are so much bigger than mine!"

Okay gents, I currently have a massive crush on a guy from my church. Here's what I've been doing to get his attention or to show my attraction.
1.) Going around him. Sitting near him during Sunday morning service. Sitting next to him at small group Bible study... whatever I can do to just be near him. I enjoy being around him. He gives me butterflies but also makes me feel safe. I know if I needed something he would be there for me.
2.) Smiling. This is what I did when I first realized I was attracted to him. I started smiling at him more, and when I mean smiling, I really mean smiling. I can't keep my face from lighting up when I see him. I smile really big and let the corners of my eyes crinkle. I probably blush too.
3.) Eye contact. Goes along with smiling but it's worth noting in it's own point because the more I've gotten to know him and my initial attraction has grown to a full blown crush, the more I've tried to make and hold eye contact, which, of course, then I eye flirt by looking down and then back up, and probably blush more.
4.) Peacocking, gussying up, preaning, whatever you want to call it. I've been putting A LOT of effort into my wardrobe, hair and makeup since I realized I was attracted to him. I mean ALOT. I barely wore makeup before, though I enjoy doing it, and never did my nails. Now I redo them every two days and try to look gorgeous if I know he's going to be at an event... or even if he MIGHT be at an event. I've been curling my hair, wearing heals, and carefully matching my accessories. All of these things help me feel more confident and put together, which gives me the courage to flirt with him.
5.) Nervous body language. This happens mostly during Bible study when he's nearby, but I find myself nervously fidgeting, playing with my pen, my bracelet, my hair, etc. Bouncing my leg, shifting my position, mirroring his movements and position.
6.) Texting. So I try not to text him too much, but I do text him a funny meme now and then, or ask him a question. When I really want to text him but feel I've already texted him too much for that day or even two days, I'll group text our whole small group.
7.) Disclosure. When we do talk, besides the usual getting to know you chit chat, I tell him things I'm mildly embarrassed about, like how I'm afraid of heights, and love Sci-Fi.
8.) Emojis. I try not to use them too much during texting, but I use the little blushing and smiling ones the most to give some kind of indication what my facial expression would be like if we were together in person.
9.) Complimenting him. I find any excuse to compliment the character traits I admire in him, and express gratitude for any type of service he does for me or one of our friends.
10.) I have not broken the touch barrier with him, yet, but I feel that's the next step and will do so by resting my hand on his forearm for a couple of secnds. I have unconsciously bumped my foot with his before and touched his fingers when passing an item to him. That wasn't done conciously, though, so I'm not sure it counts. The nervous body language is half subconscious and I counted it so... I guess you guys decide!

1. I am always checking him out online. Borderline stalkerish. I don't bother if he gets notified that I checked. In fact, I want him to know.
2. I always find out what he likes and do them. Hair, clothing, whatever.
3. I am guilty of trying to change myself to fit his "ideal" woman criteria
4. Always try to get his attention. (Yeah, am one of those) I remember walking back and forth in front of his office building 😄
5. Always getting his friends to chat about him so they tell him I asked.

When I have a crush on a guy I make extra food for him and drop it off to his house. I also offer my help but I notice that they like to offer help too so I let them have that one because it feels good to have him WANT to do things for me. I actually kissed my crush today for the first time. We have been hanging out and texting a lot. He says stuff like "We need more hugs" and "I love our hugs" So when we spent some time together today and we were hugging goodbye we locked eyes and I went in for one. I will avoid him sometimes at first because i don't want him to know how infatuated i am. I realize how counterproductive it is to be so self conscious. It likely gives him the idea i am NOT interested. I am not sure how to overcome this nervous shyness
May I suggest practicing on guys you don't have crushes on? Could be a guy at a cafe or store or gym.... doesn't matter. Start with being able to converse freely...ask a question. Give a compliment. Smile and look them in the eyes. Start with these things until you get more comfortable. If you know any of your crush's interests, hobbies or their work or car they drive, you can use that as a convo starter.

@Eddy Lockhart bullshit. Boys maybe! Men can be friends with women just fine. It depends on them and the woman. Virtually all my friends are men. I don't get along with many women because I'm a tom-boy, not girly, hate drama and like to do stuff the guys do. Thanks to growing up with older brothers I'm one of the guys. I'm straight BTW and am fairly attractive. I've done some modeling. I've been this way for nearly a half century now and my straight, manly, guy friends love that I am this way! I can be wing man, give them an alternative viewpoint or set them up. I can also help them chop wood and work on the truck. My bast friend of many years is a guy!

When I have a crush:
I try to make conversation and use humor to break my tension and feel comfortable. If I get nervous I due to physical space I clam up and stop talking, naturally I talk a heavy amount. I tend to want to talk about ideas to see if we have a mental connection.

As I guy tho one thing to say here... some of these are true, but I personally do some of these things to friends who I don't have a crush on.
Women dont want the guy to notice so either over or under doing, like awkward moments. If they dress up suddenly to look more feminine or attractive, like do make over. When they talk to you for hours & hours, a woman cant stand talking with a man she's not interested in. When her eyes shine brightly when she sees you. When she shares her deepest thoughts about the world, even her vulnerable side.

for me , when I have a crush I’m literally so excited around that person that sometimes I fall quiet , I cannot talk if face to face , I feel super shy .. so shy that when I talk I feel like I’m being very stupid for some reason :D it is as if I cannot really focus on what I’m saying , like giving a public speech ! I try not to show any weird signs , I try to keep contact , try to catch his eyes if I’m not shaking from excitement anymore at the moment .. When I like someone, as I do right now, I try to look at them when they aren’t looking at me, show them that I’m available by walking past them alone, smile when we get within a certain distance. But a lot of times I try to avoid looking his direction because I don’t want to put myself out there if I’m the only one feeling it and I can’t take body language cues and actually believe them fully without verbal confirmation that he’s into me too. Maybe I’ll burst the bubble soon though, I am literally going out of my mind crazy right now 🙃
I guess it depends on initial interactions. To some of my crushes, I have been really nice, helpful, shy and sweet. Others I have been sarcastic, somewhat mean teasing...the final results are the same. I am usually too shy to make any further moves and I remain single due to my lack of maturity....and the journey goes on. Maybe next time XD

When I like a guy, yep, I get clumsy. But I laugh it off to make the moment real. It can actually be a lot of good-hearted fun. Women can be too serious at times which I believe turns men off. I don't mean to say that they should be dumbells but they should make the man feel at ease and loved (even when we ladies are running into walls or dropping silverware due to nervousness). Mat, this was your best presentation yet!!!
PS: My crush in the 3rd Grade gave me a special blue pencil before summer break. I still have it. Oh the memories!!!

1) I ask him what he has a passion for (work, hobbies, pets, etc.)
2) I ask him nicely if I can help him with ANYTHING.
3) I tell him how happy I am that he helps me or protects me.
4) I tell him how funny he is and laugh at all of his comedy.
5) I simply grab his hand/arm. :)
I actually have done all of that as I noticed him doing those things as well...if is mutual you two just become a 'force' that people around you don't matter as much and they eventually notice and ask if you two are a couple. :)

My parents worked in the same office in different departments. My dad had such a huge crush on my mom that he used to walk by her office to check her out. They were married until the day my father died.
Stuttering when I first see him unexpectedly.....and saying weird stuff when he KNOWS I'm very rational and verbal - he senses my embarrassment / discomfort and slightly smiles. It's kinda funny - because I'm 70!!!!!!!!!!!1
When I have a super crush on a guy...
1. I look for him whenever I think he might be around. If I see him and we make eye contact I quickly look away and my heart starts pounding. At this point I mentally scream at myself "act natural!!"
2. I start putting more effort into my appearance when I think I might see him.
3. Also there is a lot of truth in the idea women play with their hair more when they are around a man they find attractive. I do this for sure.

When my crush usually sits in a chair, he slouches and lies down some in his chair and crosses his arms. Recently, without even realizing it, I started doing it. But it’s actually really comfortable because your relaxing and lying down, and when your crossing your arms, your keeping yourself warm. Thanks crush!
I gaze softly and sweetly into his eyes when he talks to me, even if it's just a brief comment from him, like the cute remark at the coffee maker. He's much more bold, looking right at me for long periods of time, but this doesn't make me nervous because he is confident in us, and I don't have to worry about anything.
