    I’m sewing from Alexandria, MN. Lived here for four years. Now have eleven grandkids that I love to sew for. I started my making pj bottoms for Christmas. Then the girls wanted fancy nightgowns. Another year I sewed double sided fleece blankets plus a pillow case. Baking aprons were requested this year for Christmas. I finished eight aprons before I had shoulder replacement surgery on October 21.

    I have lots of leftover Minky fabric. I’m going to try this method of marking and cutting fabric. I am amazed at how you are cutting this super soft fabric. By the time I finish trying to even up fabrics I have nothing left!😂 The way you pin side to side in two rows may help a lot!

      I often cut them off, especially if they look weird. But if I am going to be able to hide it in the seam allowances or cut it off otherwise, I don't make a point to trim them.

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  ปีที่แล้ว

      A favorite size is 60" x 72", which can easily be made by using two Cuddle® Cuts. They are 2-yards, precut, that you sew together to create a beautiful, adult-sized throw. --teresa

    I purchased a 70 X 64” (2 of them) to sew together as a blanket. How does one cut a minty that is so large to make it even?

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I start by sewing one selvage edge, then evening up an end, then sewing that edge, repeating on each side (the selvages will be even and if purchased a precut, the other ends should be fairly even, as well). You can find more info on how I sew the Luxe Cuddle Throw in this video: th-cam.com/video/8g_F6XU-z38/w-d-xo.html

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can find a universal walking foot for your machine, but if you want to get started right away, I would suggest these steps: loosen your presser foot pressure (if possible), pin very well and sew with the minky on the bottom, next to the feed dogs. Sew with the longest stitch you can get on that machine and keep a hand at front and back to guide it through. -Teresa
