Excellent info! The multiplier is an excellent solution to getting a serious quantity of SCV circuits for controlling hydraulic cylinders on 3PH attachments. Not only can you go from one to 6 circuits in your example -of which only one needs to be adjusted at a time- it is, by far, cheaper than any factory solution. It is also far easier to install than factory SCVs since they need someplace for each SCV valve, a way to position their control sticks in the operators station, and a way to rout their hydraulics to the back of the tractor.

Thanks for the info on the summit products. I've been looking into summit to increase my own functionality, and this is a great start to covering their products. I'm looking into the EH valve blocks, rather than a diverter/multiplier kit, as having these functions on a dedicated circuit seems safer, and more productive. The only issue I have with the EH valve blocks is that they don't appear to have any proportional controls on offer at the moment. Using the diverter/multiplier would allow that by utilizing the proportional control already installed on the tractor (joystick). It's a toss up.. The price range is similar, but the pros and cons of the actual hardware make it hard to decide.
For any that don't know what I mean by 'proportional' - I mean that you can control the speed of the hydraulic circuit.

Super find. Definitely on my future purchase list for when I get home from deployment in 2022, for now though I’ve got my sights on the brush crusher first. Making the most use out of what I currently am set up for. But I’m sure if after a Brush crusher, I put on a diverter system, I’ll be able to sell a used brush crusher and have a good chunk for a hydraulic grapple... but is it worth the loss of capability with a 1025r? The loader is already limited on lift capacity

Thanks for another great informative video. I have the Summit Diverter valve kit installed on my John Deere 2038r and I love it. I use it to operate my grapple I had my John Deere dealer install it when they installed the 2 optional SCVs on the rear of my tractor. I really like the "fighter jet" style joy stick handle with the trigger in lieu of a thumb switch. Makes it effortless to toggle between the the dump and curl and the open and close functions.

I just installed the 3 port multiplier from Summit on my 2520 to control the chute rotation and deflection for a rear mount snowblower. The valve diverts the curl loader function to the rear couplings. The hardest part of the install is routing the four hydraulic hoses from the bottom of the tractor to the rear. I mounted the valve to the right side roll bar, so it is at a nice height for coupling and uncoupling. The kit comes with everything needed for the install. The guys from Summit are great to work with and I would highly recommend purchasing one of their kits.

    • @jeffneisen7553
      @jeffneisen7553 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The kit comes with a cigarette lighter plug to power the solenoids, however there is no “Off” position on the switch so one of the solenoids will always have power and will drain the battery if left plugged in. I ditched the plug and installed a relay under the dash with the coil connected to the ignition switch, one side of the relay is connected directly to the battery, and the other side to the solenoid.

I added one a diverter and grapple to my BX last spring! Best addition I've made!
I had to mount the valve on the outside of the loader, there wasn't room inside. It's still within the track of the rear wheels, so it's not like it sticks out. I used 90° on the outside ports to keep it skinny, too!

@@GoodWorksTractors It wasn't bad at all. I pieced mine together instead of buying a kit, but once I had all the pieces and made a couple of brackets, it went really smooth.
On my BX2230, the loader valve is on the loader itself, so I think that made it simpler also. The only additional connection (when removing/installing the loader) is the electrical connector from the fuse block to the switch/solenoid.
I'm not much good with this youtubes stuff, but I uploaded a short video of me sounding like a goofball and showing my install if you want to check it out!

I'll add this, it is a challenging install (Summit Diverter) if you also have a Single Point...It will not fit on the Mast like they intend. I am adding a bracket to get mine out away from the SP. I would not want to put it on the outside of the mast. FYI The lines tho are plenty long to place it where it fits, and I knew it would be tight when I ordered it.

I had Kubota add a 3rd function valve to my new 2650 before I picked it up. Just for comparison, the cost was $800 installed. This kit would save you about $250. This is a example of the cost of adding an option when you buy the tractor new vs doing something after you already own the tractor. I tell folks all the time to add these types of options when buying new as you'll save lots of money vs adding on down the road. Your example just proves that point further. Also, that's about the cheapest I've ever heard of any dealer adding on an additional function regardless of Kubota or JD. Thanks for sharing, good stuff!

    • @GoodWorksTractors

Good question. That will totally depend on the tractor, the dealer, and what's requested. Every tractor will be setup differently, have different hydraulic capacities, and many times dealers and/or customers will mistake one for the other.

David I installed an OEM 3rd function from my manufacturer, TYM, and it is a diverter. You cannot do 2 functions simultaneously. Like Courtney said though that does not mean other manufacturers use diverters for OEM 3rd function kits.

Well, I bought the Summit front third function kit for my 2038R with Titan 48” grapple. Literally, worthless installation instructions and no mounting hardware (drilling required but I can’t decide where that would be out of the way and still protected). What they sent me was completely different from your video. It was $450, probably should have gone with the more recommended WR Long system. I’ll be several hundred more in once I buy all of the correct fittings and hoses to make this work. Pretty much gave up for now.

Lots of people don't know about 3 Spool valves. for older tractors this is also a valid option to adding a 3rd function for a grapple and maybe a little cheaper. I looked into a diverter valve I didn't want the electric component involved so this is the way I went. These don't work with the newer compacts as the loader valve is integrated in different locations though.

Very nice butt it won’t work for attachments not hooked to loader, such as snow blowers. Maybe it cud be hooked under the tractor.

You could get different hoses and reroute to the back with a quick disconnect back there. So, then you could plug into something on the backside if needed. Or, slap a quick connect on another set of hoses from the back going to the front if you want to run something like a grapple.
