There was no metal in the fuel tank, fuel filter or fuel water separator. The dealership i bought the tractor from said they were the only ones that could help me at this point due to Kubota policy. Eddie at Wickham tractor told me I needed to bring the tractor back to them, 1367 miles round trip. and they would sell me a new one because I had broken this one. The engine breather is clogged thats why oil is coming out the fill cap. And it would greatly help your bucket if you put a bolt on cutting edge on then the tooth bar
Ive had mine for ~5 years, love it. It digs better than a smooth bucket obviously, especially since my land is mostly packed sand and gravel, and it completely obliterates brush and scrub which is mostly what I got it for. I have a little bigger Kubota, and the bolt had to go through the reinforced part of the bucket. Turned out a friend had a magnetic drill press which we drilled it with, or I'd still be there today with a subscription to drill bits trying to make the holes. Only complaint I have is that if you want to use clamp-on bucket accessories, like hitch receiver or pallet forks, you have to remove the Piranha. It doesnt really matter how much you tighten the bolts because theyre only there to keep the toothbar from falling off when you backdrag or dump. The pushing is provided by the bucket itself inside the groove of the toothbar.
“ A number of years ago a woman by the name of Ann came to a seminar. She was a beautiful actress. Ann told me of a time that she and three of her girlfriends went to try out for a stage play. She got the leading role in the play and her friends, unfortunately, did not even get in the supporting cast. She worked very hard on her lines over the coming months. On opening night she was so excited! However, none of her girlfriends showed up to support her. She was devastated… They were good friends she thought. Ann was in the habit of talking to an older friend of her dad who was a mentor to her. His name was Hap. She phoned Hap and he listened to her story of what transpired. He said, “I am going to send you a letter and I want you to read it and I want you to remember it.” Here is the letter that he sent her: Dear Ann, Once upon a time, there was a fellow by the name of Al Capp who wrote a comic strip called “L’ll Abner”. Many years ago he had some characters in his strip who lived in a town near Dogpatch. They were the town bums, the n’er do wells, the failures whose whole aim in life was to pass judgment on others. Their criticism and ridicule became so vehement that in time the rest of the people in the town became acutely conscious of it. “The boys down at the stable”, as they were called because that’s where they spent most of their time, soon set the social standards of the town. Nobody could do anything without their sanction. Because they lived within the structure of their crummy little worlds, they would laugh and point their fingers at anyone and everyone who tried to be better than he was. As a result, the people feared the ridicule of the boys down at the stable so much that they stopped trying. Soon everybody became bums and the town died. In every social structure, Ann, whether it be family, town, county, or state, there are “the boys down at the stable”. They are the jealous ones. They are too scared to try something different. They show their ignorance by laughing at those who do. Learn to recognize them, Ann, for what they are. Don’t let them hurt you. It takes a certain amount of toughness to succeed. One has to rise above those who would tear you down so that they can laugh and say, “I told you so!”. There are too many of us who love you and want you to make it. I could put myself at the top of the list. You aren’t going to fall flat on your face as they would have you. You are going to do a superb job. Remember this show is only a small step in the direction of greater things you will do, many of which are beyond your wildest dreams. All you have to do is want to. One of the things I like about you best is that you always give it hell for a try. The show will be a success because of you and others like you who try. There are only winners in the cast. The losers are gathered down at the stable laughing and hoping for your failure. If we could dig down deep inside them, I’m sure we’d find they want to win also but are too scared to try, and they attempt to cover up their own failures as human beings by laughing at others. In a sense, I’m sorry for them. Their guilt must make them very unhappy people. Much love, and give ‘em hell, Hap The next time you step out to chase your dreams and someone laughs at you remember this wonderful note above. You are capable of achieving anything you desire. To your success, Bob Proctor”
Whta kind of drill bit did you use..i just installed a bar on tractor but ended up having to use plasma to cut holes and none of my so called high speed steel bits would work,,i have many projects ahead of making a box blade and scraper and a proper bit that would cut would be great,,,i have several of the step bits,,just need some bits that will cut s smaller hole in the beginning..
Such a GREAT "Stip-Mineing" Vidio. Just Think YOU "Tortured " that little tinker-toy to DEATH. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.
Took delivery of my new BX2680 last Sept. While waiting I ordered the optional teeth. They are awesome and work great. Easy to take of in Nov. for snow removal. LOVE this machine, YOU had your chance "DEERE".
Indeed. Bought a used BX2660 little over a year ago. Love that MoFo! My wife is angry with me because now, I spend more time on it than I do her 😅🤠💪!!!
We bought a L 2800 in 2004 and a toothbar. The teeth were pinned to the bucket and they eventually all broke off, The new ones were cheap then at like $4 each and the dealer said weld them on. The toothbar is one of the best implements u can get. Rock popping Tree roots, small trees. ,digging. Well worth the $$. The holes in the side were like yours .Edge stuff can vary on the bucket. My forks had to be altered to fit my bucket. When you dig go high on the bank and then work down, not from the bottom up.Less strain on the tractor.
I installed one from bx expanded about three years ago, love it . One of the best investments I have ever made was the under armor from bx expanded. Can save you hundreds of dollars in repairs..
Love that video and the bar. I have one and just as an FYI, it’s a good idea to slam the bar with a piece of wood against the front of the bar and a sledge when initially fitting and mounting. I got mine to move an additional 1/2” tighter onto the edge of the bucket which will improve the overall rigidity.
I contemplated the bolt on style toothbar and went with a heavy Hitch bar. Uses set screws to hold it in place. Plus and minus to each type of attachment.
I bought one about 2 yrs ago and put it on an LS XR3135h and that bar is still on bucket ,I want ever take it off,It is like a knife through butter,It digs so good ,good luck on your engine, cant imagine what is causing oil to come out the top ,unless it is a factory problem...
At the time of recording the video, 20ish. It's been to the deal and they couldn't find anything. But I think your right the right was not seated properly. I have almost 40hrs now with no issues.
It really doesn’t make that much difference. The pressure in breaking out the material is great inside & outside of the bucket. These cutting edges are expendable and usually are welded on and cut off. Edging, to clean up your work surface, will wear out the cutting edges, and the bucket, itself. Use it, & lose it. Been wearing them out for over 50 years, on loaders, dozers, and excavators. They all fail from use. Enjoy and good luck!
@@hans-jurgenwiegand7465 .... I put a new cutter bar on my Kbta-2550. It looked like it was for a grader(?) I cut it down to the width of my bucket and matched the taper an inch or so out past the original cutter blade and welded it on. It’s a dirt eating machine, and it’s saving the bottom of the bucket from drag-wear.
I got the Reversible Cutting Edge from BX Attachments. Bolts on using the existing holes in the bucket, no additional drilling required. Simply remove all but the middle bolt and spin the cutting edge around to the other side. Has a smooth side for leveling and snow removal tasks, and the other side is a toothed cutting edge...Looked at the piranha tooth bar and didn't like that you had to drill holes to mount it....I like the 2 cutting edge options on 1 bar so I went with the one from BX Attachments. I've seen a lot of videos on the Piranha bar too either option is better than destroying the factory edge on the bucket and rendering your bucket unusable, especially in heavy digging and rocky applications.
I think that compact tractor is getting more work hauling the load. Maybe try using a dump trailer or even a truck to move the bucket loads instead of running back and forth like that. I like the tooth bar
Sometimes the vent tubes clog up on the crank case oil , I'd check that since you are working in the desert , Holy cow that looks like some serious cotton mouth .
Very important to keep air filters changed it doesn't take but a couple tablespoons of dust to ruin a engine, I wouldn't worry about that it isn't a oil leak it's just the dust sticking to the oil vapor a little blow by is normal for a new engine until the rings seat, my M5500DT still running great @38years old
Too bad you have to deal with these knuckle head keyboard warriors. I have a Kubota Grand L6060, love it. JD and others is not my choice, so what. Don't like Kubota then don't troll! -Brad
@@mistertoads at the time of making the video, I didn't know what was wrong and had to take it to the dealer. After being there a few weeks, they never found an issue with it to cause the oil to come out of the fill cap
Charles, the piranha toothbar is well worth the money. I had one on my Massey 1533 and it was great. I am now about to install a piranha toothbar on my new 1760M. Thanks for the video.
I contemplate getting one for digging into base but I also use the bucket for back dragging and I can only see those teeth leaving marks in the normally smooth surface. Anybody have that issue or am I wrong to think it.
Nah, you can get the bucket angled so you back drag with the bottom rear edge of the piranha bar, it’s flat. Or you can back drag with the bottom of your bucket.
Third tractor and third bar. With the bucket flat or tilted up slightly they are great for back dragging. You have a flat edge from the bar on the bottom of the bucket. Have plenty of ballast because that bucket will dig in and load the bucket up. Enjoy
I have something that you need to borrow its a AW900 it has a small 54 yard bucket the large bucket is 100 yard uncle had it made to build 6 lakes on the property in north Dakota now its mine out in Wyoming with the 100 yard bucket it can pick up 250,000 pounds of dirt what you have might have been one maybe two buckets we also have the D12 CAT with 25 ft blade or the 40 ft blade it can push 285,000 pounds of dirt out in front of you oh the blades are 12 foot high just something small for the ranch
You mean a WA900 wheel loader? Also... Cat never made a D12. One more thing... a WA900 only has a 19 yard bucket as the LARGEST option. A 100 yard bucket on a WA900 is impossible. You’re living in another dimension homie. 🤦🏼♂️
Do you have a link for this? Probably going to get one for my soon to be delivered LX2610. Wouldn’t mind seeing something similar made for a backhoe bucket. Serrations like those would be good for slicing through tree roots.
Oof you’d really benefit from a dump trailer to cut the wheel time on that job… plus you could use that to transport the tractor to gravel or whatever else you wanted to load ;) Cool cutting edge, thanks for posting!
I think I would have welded it on instead of drilling that bucket. Just my opinion though. You can always cut and grind welds and repaint. Looks like it did a good job though. Big job for that tractor size.
If you would of drilled the holes more forward you could of loosened the two bolts, slid the tooth bar forward and turn it up then tighten bolts and then you can use the regular blade for back leveling or forward then loosen bolts and put tooth bar back in the usable position. Just a way so you don’t need to totally remove the bar and yet keep it attached.
It sure does pay to read comments! Im definately buying a parana bar soon...and drilling a bit forward. I thought, at first, it was a bit pricey because mine is gonna hafta be 72 inches, but now I'm convinced of it's value. Can't wait! Thanks a ton for the input!
The great thing about the Pirahna Bar that you can't get with a standard "tooth bar" is that when you do want to back drag or compact the ground with the Pirahna Bar you just level the bucket and it will be flat. A tooth bar leaves groves unless you really run the back part of the bucket in reverse which I would never recommend. Digs great, rips sapling trees out with ease, back drag with some angle and it rakes, level the bucket and go backwards and it compacts ... all while providing a wear bar for your bucket.
Check for a loose oil cap or a bad seal on the cap. The vent tube for the crankcase, could be blocked. Also check the compression you could have a cylinder with excessive blow by and pressurizing the crank case.
I’m putting my money on the vent tube for the crank case. . Bugs etc will clog these hoses up. Also check those vent tubes for the axles. They will have the same issue. It’s not a design flaw, it’s just the nature of the beast. Bugs , bees are always looking for a place to nest. This just falls under good ol maintenance. I had one blocked last yr that I had to clear and I will check them all during my maintenance BEFORE working the tractor. Great Vlog! Oh by the way, I gotta Piranha bar on my Kubota L4701- works great, well worth the money.
9:37 to show what could be 2 minutes. Thank God for fast forward! Did you say why the bolt holes are oval? That's so if you mount it right, you can pull the teeth out and flip them up inside the bucket upside down. I have a different tooth bar but the dealer told me to mount it like you did, that the bar when flipped up is just a pain in the butt.
Before bolting the toot bar on it’s a good idea to use a piece of 4x4 lumber against the front of the teeth and bang on the front edge with a sledge to snug it on before marking your holes. Mine moved in a good 1/8” which means more of the bar is in contact with more of the bucket!
@@thebottomlessbucket5337 they drill the hole in the back of the slot, the slot exists to adjust the tool on the bucket. If you drill the hole in back of the slot, you will not be able to adjust the tool...makes no sense. That is not how a slot and clearance hole connection works!
I ordered a piranha tooth bar for my Kubota L 4701, which should basically turn it into Godzilla. The fed ex guy that delivered it while no one was home actually propped it up against the tailgate of my old truck instead of putting it on a big Tex trailer I have that he actually had to go past! My first job after i mount this tooth bar will probably be too Chase that dang Fed ex guy around my property with the Kubota Monster on his next delivery , anyway I think I will be pleased with this implement, because I have not seen one review that was negative!
Lot of negativity on the comments, I think it was a good video. I also have the same tooth bar and it works great when I need it, though I don't like it when I'm grading something smooth with the loader, that's just me I guess. New sub here.
@@charlesmateker8131 I have an L2900 with FEL. Lots of lift capacity for the size and I have moved a ton of dirt, mulch, rocks with it. It only works when the material is loose, not compacted. What you have shown in this video is you digging into bank then moving material and seems tooth bar will help bust into dirt. Since tooth bar comes off easy, maybe this will increase your tractors usefulness. I would try adding it to my loader bucket if I have similar task. Thanks for posting!
I bought the piranha tooth bar for my Kioti tractor. I wore it out in 4 hours scraping packed snow from a parking lot. It’s great if you are digging in soft pack dirt but don’t use it for anything on pavement or concrete. Very soft metal, not even case hardened.
@@TsunauticusIV That’s true. I had spoken with a rep before I bought the tooth bar to explain what I wanted it for. He told me it would work good for that. It did work good, for about an hour. I don’t regret buying it. It still works good for digging. I use case hardened blades on my truck plow. They last for several years with heavy use. I guess I was hoping for the same quality from the tooth bar.
It might be a bit late to mention this, but even though that bar is made of a material that is allegedly better than AR500, that's still a wear item, and I usually tell friends looking at getting one to consider getting a style of bar that has replaceable teeth. I'd say the same thing, even if it was made of Hardox. For future reference. Also for future reference... Kubota is actually a pretty good tractor, and a good value. At least up until Tier-IV. I am less impressed with the stuff coming out from the mid-teens forward. That said, a BX is kind of a light tractor for that work. I'd want a minimum of a 3100 or 3500 Grand L series. A 4070 would be a great choice for that, especially if you pick up pre-owned one that was well maintained, but from the 2000's, though maybe the mid-teens. I have a friend who bought some of my stuff when I closed my business, and he has an MX series that he really likes. I gotta admit, if I were going to get a "Last Tractor" for general property work, I'd likely go for an MX5,200 or a Grand L60. 4wd of course. I sold a Grand L 3560 a few years ago, and that was a pretty good tractor for it's purpose. Didn't like the regen nonsense, or HST transmission. I like the GST much more. Anyway... Good luck with the clearing.
That is the issue I had with my Kubota also they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it I am a diesel mechanic for a living I know that that was blow-by pressure internal crankcase pressure pushing the oil out like that. Tell the way I picked my problem was I sold that one and went and bought me a Kioti cs2210 which I seem to like a lot better than I like the Kubota at least the dealer will fix problems with it not that I have had any which I have knocked but they seem to be more supportive
I've never seen any of my engines crapped up like that. The first thing I would check it to make sure the filler cap still has its gasket, even if the vent is blocked, it shouldn't be pushing that much out. I'd also verify that the oil levels are correct.
Ok title said Destroying the Kubota so where did it destroy your machine? Good thing I watched because title made it seem like the tooth bar wrecked the machine
Do you realize the dirt doesn't care about a burr that the nut and bolt covers up and your paint will be scraped off in the dirt !!or you repaint after every use !!
Charles nice video. I have a 3301 and when I mow a lot of high grass radiator screen will get dirty and need cleaning. I hope that was it. It has a warning but hard to see.
Use a cutting oil when drilling metal. The bits last longer and cut better. Chainsaw bar oil works... or any other similar oil... if you do not have "real" cutting oil intended for drilling metal.
2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen (water) is best for drilling, as a coolant. Oil should be used for cutting threads and broaching as a lubricant. Your lungs will thank you later
Put a parana bar on my Branson, best attachment ever I’ve been cutting trails through Forrest and it will cut through 2” and smaller trees. Bigger stuff I can usually pull out if I can get a bite in it. It will also shear off tree limbs on cedar trees really quick 👍👍 I found it’s great for digging but if I’m grading dirt or gravel it’s useless so I take it off and use the factory edge
Where’s the destroying part? You ended video with some oil coming out of the cap? Borderline clickbait!

Ive had the Parana Tooth bar on my 1025r for three years and it works great!
What was it a crankcase vent valve?
I am curious why the oil was coming out
“ A number of years ago a woman by the name of Ann came to a seminar.
He said, “I am going to send you a letter and I want you to read it and I want you to remember it.”
Here is the letter that he sent her:
Dear Ann,
Once upon a time, there was a fellow by the name of Al Capp who wrote a comic strip called “L’ll Abner”.
Much love, and give ‘em hell, Hap
The next time you step out to chase your dreams and someone laughs at you remember this wonderful note above. You are capable of achieving anything you desire.
To your success,
Bob Proctor”

We bought a L 2800 in 2004 and a toothbar. The teeth were pinned to the bucket and they eventually all broke off, The new ones were cheap then at like $4 each and the dealer said weld them on. The toothbar is one of the best implements u can get. Rock popping Tree roots, small trees. ,digging. Well worth the $$. The holes in the side were like yours .Edge stuff can vary on the bucket. My forks had to be altered to fit my bucket. When you dig go high on the bank and then work down, not from the bottom up.Less strain on the tractor.
That little bucket beats a wheelbarrow and a shovel

Love that video and the bar. I have one and just as an FYI, it’s a good idea to slam the bar with a piece of wood against the front of the bar and a sledge when initially fitting and mounting. I got mine to move an additional 1/2” tighter onto the edge of the bucket which will improve the overall rigidity.
Definitely a good idea!

Will drilling a hole in bucket compromise the value of the bucket for resale?
I bought one about 2 yrs ago and put it on an LS XR3135h and that bar is still on bucket ,I want ever take it off,It is like a knife through butter,It digs so good ,good luck on your engine, cant imagine what is causing oil to come out the top ,unless it is a factory problem...
Definitely one of the best things you can get! And yea, not sure what caused the oil, but she hasn't since!
Oil blowing out the cap would be blow by. Rings not seated properly. How many hours on that engine?
At the time of recording the video, 20ish. It's been to the deal and they couldn't find anything. But I think your right the right was not seated properly. I have almost 40hrs now with no issues.
Where did you purchase it at?
I would put bolt nut on the outside so they don't get buggered up so you can remove the bar easily if you need to. Just a thought. Nice video
Thank you for the good idea!
@@hans-jurgenwiegand7465 it's not about the bar, more about the threads and the nuts being jacked up. Prevent having to cut them off down the road.
Was my thought as well.
That kind of defeats the purpose of having a tractor loader with wheels Dontcha think?
And loading the bucket

What does the new attachment have to to with the oil leak?
What a great video yo!!! love the time lapses!!!

Charles, the piranha toothbar is well worth the money. I had one on my Massey 1533 and it was great. I am now about to install a piranha toothbar on my new 1760M. Thanks for the video.
It is for sure a must-have! Congrats on the new 1760m!

No. You're correct
Yes, rezloh you won’t have that problem
Nah, you can get the bucket angled so you back drag with the bottom rear edge of the piranha bar, it’s flat. Or you can back drag with the bottom of your bucket.
What got destroyed on it?
How is tooth bar for back dragging?
Third tractor and third bar. With the bucket flat or tilted up slightly they are great for back dragging. You have a flat edge from the bar on the bottom of the bucket. Have plenty of ballast because that bucket will dig in and load the bucket up. Enjoy

for sure some better options!

What did the dealer say was the issue/ problem
I think I would have welded it on instead of drilling that bucket. Just my opinion though. You can always cut and grind welds and repaint. Looks like it did a good job though. Big job for that tractor size.
So what happened to the tractor? I never saw a follow up
Man I like that tooth bar I am going to see about getting one for my tractor. Thanks for the video! New sub!
That is a great idea. I wish I had thought of that bf my install
How does it destroy the Kubota?
You can't dig much with a dinky tractor! What did you expect. Have you ever heard of break in ?
What did your dealer say about the oil leakage?
Eeeeeh maby some bigger machines!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Before bolting the toot bar on it’s a good idea to use a piece of 4x4 lumber against the front of the teeth and bang on the front edge with a sledge to snug it on before marking your holes. Mine moved in a good 1/8” which means more of the bar is in contact with more of the bucket!
Why would you need that when bolting through to a a slot?
@@Cudamon986 I'm assuming you're just drilling a single hole vs. creating a slotted hole.
@@thebottomlessbucket5337 they drill the hole in the back of the slot, the slot exists to adjust the tool on the bucket. If you drill the hole in back of the slot, you will not be able to adjust the tool...makes no sense. That is not how a slot and clearance hole connection works!

You can destroy hard cutting edges very quickly by misusing them too on concrete and asphalt. Ask me how I know. 😂
Too small of a tractor, too large a job, regardless of a little oil blowout.
They make the piranha bar for almost every brand and series tractor. They make one for my Kubota L47 that replaces the replaceable cutting edge.
I like how the paranabar sharpens itself as you wear it in.
Nice job 👍
Looks like maybe it was overworked?
Head gasket? Check compression.

Use a cutting oil when drilling metal. The bits last longer and cut better.
Chainsaw bar oil works... or any other similar oil... if you do not have "real" cutting oil intended for drilling metal.
You're 100% right, I didn't even think to do so on this.
It will also shear off tree limbs on cedar trees really quick 👍👍
