    I have a real steel M1 from Springfield with its accompanying bayonet. It's actually a WW2 era one that was refurbished after the war for the Korean War. I used to be big into airsoft so I understand the attraction of getting to run with a replica like this, but I have to say: If you ever get the chance to hold one of the real things in your life or own one for that matter, you need to take advantage of it! There's nothing like it. If you're any kind of military history buff, it's a humbling experience just to hold it, examine the different nicks on it, and imagine where it's been during a time in human history we hopefully never repeat.

    I know I’m late, but most M1s when they were newly issued, they were lighter colored. As the years went by, and soldiers who had these used them, the wood gets darker from weathering and combat. It’s fairly common with a lot of weapons that have wood furniture.

    The G&G version has very great externals. The wood is real walnut and the metal parts are Parkerized. The ICS version may not be as realistic as the g&g. But the reason I prefer the ICS version is because ICS builds these for the players. The Magazines for the ICS are easy to find and so are parts incase they break on your gun. The M1 Garand is for the most part, a proprietary system. and ICS was smart enough to make after market parts available.

    • @anglishbookcraft1516
      @anglishbookcraft1516 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had the G&G and it’s just painted metal and a normal stock. The externals aren’t that much better, only the overall look is a bit nicer.

    I am constantly thinking about buying a real steel CMP Garand because they're such beautiful rifles, but when I think about $1 a round at the range, sometimes I think a better option is an airsoft that I can shoot at cans in the backyard. As long as it's metal and wood it would be fun enough I think.

    The buttplate door on the real steel garand is for the cleaning kit. It was a rod in 4 threaded segments, which came with a few brushes and an oil bottle, wrapped into a canvas pouch small enough to fit inside the stock compartment. Many military rifles at the time used a similar idea, including the Lee-Enfields.

    I think the little door on the butt of the stock on the real garand is to store the guns cleaning kit. mine came with stock .30-06 BB rounds, idk if i should use those or the tons of surplus bandoleers i have.... I wish my clips looked like yours, they're very metallic and always go PING after 8 shots....lol anyway, this replica looks as good as my real one

      btw the real steel version, the back door is for your oil and grease bottles and some small tools but its cramped and it is two holes not on giant oval

    Hey! I LOVE your videos. I know your tastes are very much more "collector" than "player," which is why I'm going to suggest you give one of the Mosins a try. I personally went with the Matrix PU with matching scope (cause who doesn't love enemy at the gates?!). Just my two cents. Keep up the great videos!

    I fired an M1 Garand when in Vietnam. It was an actual US army Garand captured off an American soldier during the Vietnam War.

      Look into how many manufacturers made this particular rifle. I was surprised. Mine was put together in the '50's and I can drill tacks at 150 yrds using the iron sights. And fun fact they made some that were chambered in .308.. I love this rifle and I go out and shoot it at least two times a month.
