World War two soldiers were taught that you NEVER hold it on the Mag. Hold it on the vented shroud or the slope in front of the trigger box. My father was issued with one of these as his personal weapon, he was a corporal in the RA.
@OMGitsAzreal It's most definetely not, Mk2's are becoming harder to get and prices are through the roof. Although the gas blowback Northeast Sten Mk5 is around the same as a real deactivated late war Mk5.
@@sd0384 The mg42 is cool. nice and heavy, shoots quite accurately despite I had to put in a worse spring, unfortunately. the only thing that bothers me a bit is that when I pull the tension lever back it doesn't do anything, okay that's not a big deal. only annoying thing is that it's slanted, and there's a chance it could fall off if you don't pull it all the way back or forward. Maybe i need to make a video of it ;)
I'm a big fan of WW2 British guns and the Sten was one of the first things on my list to add to my collection. I honestly can say that I absolutely love it. I've yet to use it in field but just from your chrono tests and target practice, it looks fairly decent.
Im glad to see this gun on you channel. I've shot one of these guns before and they are alot of fun to shoot and the airsoft version clearly represents that
Not sure if anyone commented on it, but the place you put the bolt handle is the safety catch for the real steel variant. Leaving the bolt handle there means that it will not slam forward as it is an open bolt.
I was thinking the same thing! If he really wants to cover ALL of the guns in COD WWII I’m sure he’ll review one, rather it be the KWC CO2 version or the WE Green gas version.
Heads-up for anyone watching/rewatching this video in 2019 wanting a GBBR version: A company called Northeast is producing a green-gas GBBR version of this rifle, and if I remember correctly it’s going to release sometime soon.
I love this channel so much. Mike, you really have outdone yourself with developing the channel, making videos, and everything in general. This is the one airsoft channel I truly get excited over when I see a new video has been released. Your bright and peppy attitude makes every video so enjoyable. It’s not uncommon for me to laugh at some of the little skits you add in :) when it comes to video suggestions, A weapon I haven’t seen reviewed a whole lot is the KWC CO2 powered Luger, or the AGM spring powered M1/M2 Carbine (could also be an “airsofting on a budget” weapon). You could also do a review on the King Arms CO2 powered M1 Carbine or the paratrooper variant, the M1A1 Carbine. Another weapon that would be real neat to review would be KWC’s M712, or “schnellfeuer”, which is the real life counterpart to the “Machine pistol” in COD WWII. It has a crazy Rate of Fire that you would love probably love, and people would most likely enjoy seeing, as it’s like having an MG-42 in the palm of your hand! Anyway, keep up the good work Mike, I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Chances are the reason this is all steel is it’s made in China using the original (or near to) stamps from when the Chinese PLA replicated the STEN in the 50’s I think. Pretty awesome for an airsoft replica.
Ive also got one now! Its a beast, i did read that some soldiers used to wrap a rag around the heat shield and held it there, il prolly do the same, great review as always, luckily my charge handle tightens down without rattling too
The biggest problem I have with this replica is the battery placement. There's so much space in the area in front of the trigger guard that they could have used. They could have made that box hinge down and and you could insert the battery in there. Putting it in the stock tube really limits your battery options and also prevents you from making it look like any other model of Sten.
No.4 Lee Enfield from RedWolf Airsoft costs 569 USD but seeing you are from Britain I'd don't know much would cost but the rifle is so well made that it even has a bayonet notch so you can buy a spike bayonet and fix it on.
Speaking of the way to hold this gun - it seems reasonable to hold it at the bottom of the receiver, as you've shown on the pic. You both old on the center mass of the gun AND get your fingers away and safe from the barrel and it's shroud as they both (realistically on the real steel) get "uncomfortably" hot while shooting.
My twin bro's got one, suprisingly powerful and super loud! Perfect rep, they were known to be unreliable so mikes one was just more authentic 😂Hopefully il have a go with it for some content on our channel! Keep up the great work mike!
Yo Mike, can you make a video showing how to change out an M4 carbine short hand guard with a rail system hand guard? I tried looking for a hand guard where I can just do the usual swap-a-roo, but the ones I seen (4 sided rails), it looks like I have to take a bunch of pieces apart. Thanks a milli
The sten has such a beautiful look. Honestly if the sten was put up against the M3 grease gun the sten would win. I hope I could find one someday. But with interesting ww2 guns we need co2 or gas ones, because like the sten there is not much of a battery spot. But co2 mp40..
I'd possibly buy a Sten if they had the MKIII or MKIII style stock adapter. The MK 2 looks uncomfortable to use for long periods of time, due to it's stock. You should do the STG44 or BAR next, I've considered buying one.
Very prone to an ND these were...if you dropped it or knocked it against a wall or jumped over an obstical too hard a round used to go of...and it wasn't a BB...i was quite handy that we could use the same 9mm round in a Browning pistol too...less to carry....
there's a gun just like this one that was made by an Australian called the Owen gun that looked very similar to a sten but the magazine goes vertical feeding down it was a prototype weapon that was tested by the Australian military and a few thousand were made I believe but it never say production
Hey Mike, I know this video is old, but i guess you still get a notification after someone posts a comment; do you still have this gun, or perhaps do you remember - whats on the end of the outer barrel? Is it a rubber band, or this thing is actually threaded?
OMG IM EARLY. And i bet my airsoft guns to Mike that he doesnt notice this Edit: Oh gosh he saw my comment :O. That was my dream but now... The guns :o
Thank you for this video with nice full steel airsoft that it is very interested. I think that you still lack of the STG44 in your collection. I have seen it is placed in market and it also made out of steel and real wood the same as Sten Mk ii. I wish that you will have a review of the STG44 soon. It may be a good information before i buy it.
World War two soldiers were taught that you NEVER hold it on the Mag. Hold it on the vented shroud or the slope in front of the trigger box. My father was issued with one of these as his personal weapon, he was a corporal in the RA.
For the price it is a *"Steel"*
Oh frick
what a steel
The real one was made with pot metal.
But the joke wouldn't be funny if you said "for the price it is a pot metal".
Steel.

steel.

When you realise that the airsoft sten costs more than the real sten
its just 10 euros as i know

Maybe do the STG44 next?
the first ar
Close, but not quite. There was an Assault Rifle created by Fedorov in the early 1900s. STG 44 is the first mass produced assault rifle though.
The SVT-40 ?
Nope, although that gun was created by Tokarev
Sorry, I meant Federov
One of my favourite guns Mike! Keep up the great videos 👌

Alright you win, this is the best comment I've ever heard about an airsoft gun and that's not even just speech, thats genuine
Excellent video. Very informative, cheers Mike! One of the better AGM Sten overviews.
Wow way more accurate then I thought it would be

Man I cant fathom the amount Airsoft Mike has spent on this hobby.Good for him he does or most likely does not know about Miniature Firearms.
Not sure if anyone commented on it, but the place you put the bolt handle is the safety catch for the real steel variant. Leaving the bolt handle there means that it will not slam forward as it is an open bolt.
But this is not the real steel, and what you said does not apply to this airsoft version.
this gun is and always will be a favorite of mine i love any game that includes this
Its too bad that its such an uncomfortable gun to shoot in real life

Great Replica. i have a Real Steel Stock and Front Grip for mine. Took a little work to get it on it, but well worth it.
Has anyone put a spring in where that bolt goes on the inside? I’ve been wondering if that would work to make the bolt functional
7:50 we call them "Junk drawers" in the states😁👍
This is sweet ! Wonder if they will be making more WWII German sub machine gun designed such as the MP-43 ? Yes with the wooden butt stock .
Not a submachine gun
