My family traveled to Fort Meigs last year and we loved it. It was rebuilt to it's former glory. Standing in the common grounds we could actually Invision life in the fort 200 years ago. Definitely make the trip to visit this wonderful fort because it is one of the best historical sites to see and experience.

The bicentennial was actually celebrated during the year 2013. Because the battle of Lake Erie happened in 1813 all the war officially started in the 1812 are used to live on South Island and was able to celebrate our bicentennial on the island.

I’m aware that Peter Navarre served at fort Megis. He came to the maumee valley in 1807. Was he fur trading with Indians during that time period? In the Toledo and perrysburg area?
