@@jamestboehm6450 - post 10 does mainly clogged culverts, which are a different kind of "animal". He probably hasn't even removed 10 dams since he started his channel, so there's no point comparing the two. Both of them are good at what they do.

Those beavers are getting very sly, look at the place they chose! Great removal work! Second camera really showed the scope of this project. This dam held back an amazing amount of water.
I love watching the pressure wave come flowing through as the dam disintegrates. As the wave pushes the water ahead of it, the water 'stacks up' and pushes the still water ahead of it. This results in a 'push me, pull you you' effect. I love it! Lol.

An excellent beaver dam removal, as only you can do. Your new rake is working well and you manage to outsmart the best of the beaver dam builders out there!
Hey Papa, that particular dam was a "Study in Beaver Behavior" they utilized several key things I noticed as you brought it down. 1. The used whole trees, and partial trees in the "Stick it in the mud method." 2. They did not only stick them in the mud, they laid them across the dam as a layer, the one tree you pulled out towards the end that was whole. 3. They debarked some trees and collected/ate the bark on some trees, and not others 4. The base of the dam was much wider than some of the other dams you brought down. 5. The dam grew thinner towards to top, but the base was stuck in pretty well. Have you gone back to see if your old rake appears in another dam in that area, or in the water where it stopped in the water flow ??
@@NRZ-3Pi10 Yes I know they layer the branches, but I noticed the difference in this dam. In addition to sticking them in the mud, perpendicular to the dam, they are also layering whole trees, across the dam structure, like a cement blocks layers in a wall. So they are hitting the dam with sticks and whole trees as of late, some of those trees are debarked, and others are not. This dam was a different presentation in build style than the usual beaver dam build.
@@jeremy1350 Obviously very experienced beavers, who knew they need to build a really strong dam here to withstand the pressure. Also appears there's lot of bushes and trees along those ditches at that location. Given the width of the canal, it might have been bit easier to move even long logs such they can put those across the dam. They're real pro's. Just recently I witnessed beaver activity in my area where they lumbered a tree that it almost precisely has fallen into the ditch of estimated width 3 - 4 m / 10 - 13ft with its entire length - amazing (OK, but also have seen other trees where they've been less smart 😅)!
Love this channel. My wife says it’s like therapy for me and I think she’s right! I think you would be a fun guy to meet and hang out with! If you’re ever in the states in the Chicago area let me know 😊
I really appreciate your video's. They are entertaining and interesting. I have recently been diagnosed with cancer and your videos are well timed while attending to my chemotherapy treatment (six hours in a chair with a tube in my chest; not the best way to enjoy the day.) Thank you for bringing some nature and out of doors life to my day.
As a kid my brother andvI used to dam up the family creek, then a couple days later, break bit down just to watch the downstream wash things away. Your videos brings back a lot of memories, and I appreciate that. I live in South Florida now, a transplant from Illinois. You'll make your 100,000 soon. By the way, after watching your rake being washed away a few time, I'm thinking it farther down stream. Maybe after some rain and erosion it will show up and you'll have a spare..thanks again for the tough removal
It looked like the dam had a stubborn mind of its own and didn’t want to move but you did a great removal! I saw 4 different cameras, which was quite intriguing to watch! Congratulations on so many viewers! 😊👍🏻
You've earned it with great content. I always feel sorry for you when part of the dam collapses releasing a lot of the pressure and you have to do more work to bring the rest down. Onwards and upwards.
Hey Mantas! Good to see you again. We’ve had a lovely day here too (in Yorkshire) but also expect poor weather next week. Can’t really expect much better this time of year. That pre-cleaning took a lot of work. Thanks for your unseen efforts.
Awesome job, that may have been a smaller dam but it was sure stubborn!!! It’s always a good thing when I see a new video from you. Here’s to that 100k!!!
Great camera work and editing. Put a belt on those waders. Trust me you fall in it will turn into an umbrella. Don’t make me tell your pretty wife. Camera 4 gave a good appreciation of how much water there was. I would have liked to see it after the whole dam was down. Great video as always. Thanks for posting

15:30 - well that explains a lot! I think this dam had more lumber in it than any other dam I have seen you work on. So far that new rake is working out well but it needs some color!
Love your channel. A possible suggestion is to add a water level stake in the deep side, so that once it is emptied, we can see how far the fall of water was for each dam. Just a suggestion to give perspective. Keep up the good/hard work!!
This has been there for a long time it has a very wide base of built up branches and Mud ,I hope you all can appreciate the amount of work Mantas puts in on breaking these Dams ,I for one do .That was a very large amount of water being held back , Down stream video awesome ,it's too bad the government doesn't see fit to properly maintain these canals

Interesting 3-stage beaver dam collapse!
The beavers have good building materials at that location and made a solid dam.
