Those bubbles on your hand are called blisters. You shouldn't be disappointed at all. Alot if hard work went into disassembling that dam. Those beavers must be alot more seasoned in their dam building experience. Was really well built. As far as a beaver dam actually quite beautiful. They also put a big effort in trying to make it not to collapse. ♥️👍
Don't be disappointed that you didn't get the massive collapse. It was still an awesome job. In English, we call those bubbles, blisters. Shows how hard you were working. Keep up the great work.
Incredible effort and this has to be one of the best videos to illustrate why farmers need your help so much. Amazing amount of drainage from the fields let alone what came from upstream and in the forest area. Fantastic job !
The amount of water in the fields draining off is crazy! People that are crying about the poor beavers should see how much damage they do to our food supply. Collapse or not, it was still amazing watching all that water drain. Great job! The farmer should be pretty happy with you!
The farmers should constantly maintain the drainage of their farms. To let that huge dam grow and grow without doing anything about the problem, that farmer deserves to lose their crops. Asking you to come along, to solve their obvious problem, when it is much more dangerous and exhausting for you. I don't know, but do they pay you for this dangerous work? If not well they ought to do. We have these problems, (without the beavers), on the Somerset Levels. Without constant maintenance the "rhynes"* get clogged up and cause untold amounts of flooding in wet winters and many people lose their homes or endure much damage... * Channels.
A dam removal can be really satisfying even without collapse. Good flow, huge drop (with proper before/after video), clever strategy to dismantle the dam, all of this can provide very satisfactory videos.
no reason to be disapointed. the job you did was very exhousting and satisfieing. see how much water has been drained from the area and the field. the farmer wil be very glad you did this job. it was a massive dam and a massive job to take it down. not a moment was disapointed. good job.
The dam may not have been a great collapse, but you have drained much water from the fields, which is the main point, right? Those ditches were put there to allow crops to be able to grow; the beaver dams are a nuisance that need to be removed. Good job!
I mean I like the beavers they help sculp the landscape. I do however understand that any human infrastructure that it is jeopardy because of the beavers then those beavers need to be relocated and the dams removed.
Then go to the next level, and learn how to live trap the beaver too. Then relocate them or contact someone that relocates wild animals in your area. Then all your efforts won't be in vain, because as it is now you're simply repeating the same thing over and over. The farmers only get the use of the land for short period, and then they loose the money and labor used to plant the fields again once the beaver rebuild the dams.. Samberg aplies to the roads that you're only temporarily restoring use of, or the same also applies to the roads that were be damaged by the excessive runoff caused by the beaver. Until they are removed from the canals they're using for their homes, then you've only put a temporarily band aide on the real problems that your fighting . Plus if you live trap them, and relocate them then you know they aren't being delt with the way hunters, and farmers do in the winter times when their fur is worth the efforts of those that will kill the beaver if given the opportunity to do so. Entirely up to you whether you learn what'd needed to catch and relocate them, are continue as you have been. It's the Logical steps thst needs to be followed if your truly going to do the job right. They will eventually return, and they will have to be delt with again in a few years same as they are everywhere they are still wild populations of them around to do so.
Canada and North America also have this situation, forestry roads are washed out, all because of the beavers, they trap and relocate them to nature reserves and control them, suggest you talk to your environmental people, still a good video on an enormous dam
I'll never understand why the farmers don't take the dams down themselves. The water backing up on their property costs them money in lost crops, getting a tractor stuck when they weren't expecting it and on and on ...... These people owe you a big time.
I will not speculate why the farmer didn’t take action by himself here, I’m more surprised he obviously did not already call for help during seed time. To me it appears the `field´ must have already been swampy for quite some time, judging from this massive dam enforced with lot of mud and the ditch being filled up to the top now. Yes, could be there’s been lot of rain during spring and summer. But this dam looked like it existed quite a while already. Might have been perfect for growing rice, except for climate conditions in Lithuania & Latvia aren’t really optimal for that 😉.
Often its better and more effective for the farmer, doing other important stuff on his end of business… Like boring paperwork.. Planning… Fencing… There can be loads of work to be done farming!🫣 So having people doing work like this… When not having the time or Crew… Full time Crew cost a lot… So he will be saving money, by having local people doing small jobs🤷🏼♂️
I’ll never understand why every single person doesn’t repair their own car. I’ll never understand why fishermen don’t make their own boats. I’ll never understand why people who work in offices don’t clean their own restrooms. They owe him “a big time”? How big of a time is appropriate? A big wall clock?
You did a great job. Those six hours you spent on this dam were well spent. The dam and the water are draining. You have proven yourself to be a beaver nemesis. Tough work, disappointing yes but you overcame the trouble and took the dame down. Proud to be a follower of yours. You are a good man.😊❤☃️
Fully agree; and even in case a larger fragment of this wall of mud would really have collapsed, I’d expect it would have caused troubles somewhere downstream then (e.g. clogging a culvert). We’ve seen the mud dam was able to withstand the pressure of lot of water and barely dissolved even when the first trench was opened. Understand that a collapsing dam is more spectacular to witness and to place on YT. However, it was much more important here to show stamina and get the exhausting job done. It simply hasn’t been good place for a beaver dam, obviously affecting both fields and softwood / coniferous forest in an undesirable manner.
Those "bubbles" on your skin are called blisters. That was a lot of work, even for someone as physically fit as you are. That must have been an old dam; it would take a long time for the beavers to push up that much mud and for that much plant growth to grow on the downstream side of it. Very impressive job, the farmer should be thrilled to have his field drained.
No, no, no! Don't be disappointed Mandas. You worked hard, drained the field, cleared the dam. The farmer would be very grateful and we are very happy to watch. It may not have been spectacular but not everything can be. You did a fantastic job and I for one love watching all of your videos. Spectacular or not. Great job! God Bless x
Mantas, it's not disappointing to your viewers, you went out and did what you like to help your countrymen and farmers so they can get the entire crop they deserve!!!!!!
You didnt get the satisfaction of a big collapse but you still achieved a spectacular dam removal. I especially liked the drone footage of you working on the dam , it gave a great perspective on how huge the dam was and how much work you put into achieving the end result. Well done, you should take great pride in this hobby of yours as it helps other people as well as giving you satisfaction.
Another very interesting vid. You should never beat yourself up over your disappointment regarding the way it went .. It would be nice to see some of your farmer friends thank you on camera.for you great work.
That was not disappointing, I think you were exhausted when you said that. A great example of why the drainage ditch exists and why the dam needed removing.
It’s a never ending cycle of clearing Dams and glad you are showing us what Beavers can achieve in destroying crops, these Dams need to be removed for the sake of our feeding process. We have been watching you for awhile and keep up the good work 👍
Hey I love seeing the dam go in one massive push ,but this one was huge you did well on your own to remove it ,I’m sure your blisters will soon go and you will achieve your aim in the next dam demolition 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
You are right about the size, must be a very old dam. Time to drain it and get the hunters out when legal to hunt. That is a very large amount of water to remove.
What an incredible dam! Massive! It was incredibly satisfying to watch you steadily dismantle this beast dam piece by piece. I know lots of people love a good collapse, so do I, BUT I really love watching the dam wall turn into a waterfall as well, so this was beautiful to me. Thank you Mantas! Impressive you did so much in 6 hours, I hope your blisters healed quickly!
Good thing you are in good health, you definitely had to use some serious muscles to get that cleared out as good as you did.great video.just keep on doing your thing.be safe.😎😎😎👍👍👍
what an awesome job. after 6 hrs it's no wonder you had blisters forming. it wasn't going to collapse as the base was too wide & the wall was pretty thick. it needed aa fair bit of removal on the inside to start with. an incredible amout of water flowing from the field. you conquered it as that was your goal. the drone footage showed how much area had to be drained. well done as usual.
Sure, it would have been awesome to see this dam rollover all at once. However, you should be very proud of the work you did, by yourself, to take it apart. Don't beat up on yourself!! You did a huge amount of work and got the job done, collapse or not!
You did an amazing job. The farmer will be pleased.
I hope he paid you handsomely for your huge, and dangerous efforts?
TH-cam and some viewers :)
Do not feel disappointed , that was a massive job which took a lot of effort! You did a marvellous job with it all.

Well, not every video needs to have a dam collapse. I appreciate the hard work you put in. That countyside sure is beautiful!
So much hard work. Not a glamourous collapse or anything, but a well earned job. Give yourself a reward for this long day.
That was a fantastic result! The sheer volume of water moved was amazing! Your hard work paid off. You need a solar power battery charger! Well done!
You are the farmers savior.
Amazing performance and results, Mantas! 👍🏻👍🏻
It may not have collapsed as you hoped but it certainly wasn't a disappointment. You sounded exhausted at the end! 👏👏👏 Well done 👍
We just got our electric back on after 4 days from severe storms .greetings from the USA. Hope everyone had a good day.
Wow, great news you've got your power back
