Mitsubishi DOAS Destination Dispatch Traction Service Elevator in San Jose, CA

  • There is public parking in this building (for a fee). We were parked in this parking garage, and to my surprise, the 2 hydraulic parking elevators were both out of service (I'm not sure if they are getting modded or have already been modded or not). As far as I know the mod project of the main elevators was done or almost done in 2020. As a result, the service elevator (which is the only one of the tower elevators serving the garage levels) was opened to the public. I'm not sure if this car doubles as a passenger car, or if it is used exclusively as a service car. It IS part of the DOAS system.
    On the DOAS keypad, you can select between passenger & service use. As far as I know service use calls the service car. Passenger use is an option on the parking floors (even though only service cars go down there), and selecting the lobby under passenger use does work. I didn't film this, but on lobby level, you actually have to select service use (the parking floors don't show up under passenger use) to go down to the garage.
    The office floors are locked off, possibly because it was after 5-6 pm (I didn't try to ride the passenger elevators on this visit).

    That's weird, w/ the other 1s being broken & the who passenger/service use thing. It's also weird how they use CE destination panels & indicators rather than the DOAS 1s.
