Epic Motors! Schindler/MEI Hydraulic Freight Elevators - Westfield Valley Fair Mall - San Jose, CA

[Recorded 1-15-22] These are really cool!! I stumbled upon this set of two MEI (installed by Schindler) freight elevators while looking for the bathroom. I heard loud beeping and thought, "that sounds like a freight" so I went exploring and here we are. These are located in the newest section of the mall and were installed during the MASSIVE 2022 renovation. Both cars have really good motors and also run very well. I love how the retiring cams for the doors retract at different times, creating two loud clunks instead of one. The beeping is annoying but there are worse door-closing sounds out there. Neat find!
