- Very little is known about this home, other than it sits on a large 25 acre property and has sat completely forgotten and abandoned for around 2 years. it appears something may have taken place here as there is police tape in the front entrance.

this house was originally built in 1829 in the Neo-classical style. it was one of the first houses built in the area and is now listed as a heritage building and cant be demolished. helpfully someone moves in soon before it begins to decay. thanks for sharing this video, nice to se someone else's prospective on the place.
Thanks for the back story. Appreciate the history of this home.
They would need to make it back on the style of its original built to have it a historically protected house. They changed it so I think that takes it out it historic protectively. I could be wrong
I hope I'm wrong. I hate for it to be torn down.
@@Ann-um3hd the exterior of the house is mostly original, so is the staircase. It is now a protected building. The thumbnail in the video is a different house as to not give away the exact location.
Hey bro
I've never seen an old house renovated to look brand new!! Very nice. I love that they kept the original hardwood floors.
I can’t believe the beautiful homes that are just abandoned . What a nice home! Funny how they had money to remodel the place but had $14k in unpaid taxes? Yeah-that’s why this one is abandoned. I don’t understand why it’s not sold so the back taxes are paid. I’m sure that place is worth alot. It’s not in bad shape-yet.
Wondering if therexwas plans for a massage, or chiropractor office in the addition room with the new small sink. So perhaps that professional didn't graduate, so no future income? Or they were practicing elsewhere wait8ng for renovations and they passed, and so no one to pay back taxes?
Why the police tape? I don't think unpaid taxes warrants that
I presume there was a serious crime here, murder for example, which must be disclosed to potential buyers. Could be a turn off but not for me!
Glass door knobs are so cool
@@jillgebauer1292we had those when I was growing up. I remember always taking them off as a little girl and my parents had to start hiding the tools lol. I thought they were pretty
Actually, the crime scene tape isn’t a bad idea to keep some people out of an empty house. It might creep some people out enough to stay away but it also might attract others who like crime scenes.
Nicely renovated but it kind of gave me the creeps. Those beds were odd and the stretcher in that one room. And all the random things in the garage. The light fixtures are used in hospitals. Weird. Thanks for the video.
Although house is beautifully redone- watching video gave me the creeps..feel bad vibes off the home. Maybe Google the address and find out what happened. At first because of happy birthday sign crime scene tape was tied to- thought maybe it was funny practical joke like a surprise party...except no one would sink the amount of money or spend that long fixing it up to just leave after all the remodel...let us know after you check out assess and property what happened there. Definitely feel bad energy from the home😖
Yes, no new construction would ever be built as sturdily as those solid tree beams!
The black sofa is a kind of thing you can turn to a bed. This is a nice house with a great kitchen minus the microwave.
Really nice home. Ethan, thank you for always pointing out details of homes you show us. It really adds to the homes appeal and give life to them. ❤
I really love the mix of the old with the new. It makes it modern with subtle bold hints of the structural bones it's made of. I agree with the kitchen, I would try to find a way to break up that color pattern. And in the basement I'd love to finish it but incorporate the logs into the design, it gives it so much character and says a lot about the work ethic put into building homes in that time. Thanks for another lovely video. Take care, stay safe & God bless! xoxo 💞 Kat
The crime tape definitely add a mystic to this home!! I love creepy old homes!!! 👍👍🙂
The house is well built and I like how they brought everything into the modern world while keeping the outside and some features to it's original time period.🙂🙂
Another great one, Eathan. Thanks Bro!
These aren't usually one of my favorite types of homes, but this one does have a certain appeal. I think they were doing a very nice job of updating it, and the original wood floors are beautiful! I love the built-in shelves in the bedroom.😎one. ✌️
This is so very sad.....the sun really warms up the place as you take us room to room!!! Too bad, cause this home could have been turned into a nice little place to enjoy for years to come!!! Well, if you want to find out what happened, go to the city for it's records etc. Have a great weekend everyone!!!
Police tape, hmmm, must have been a murder in the house - that's why it was quickly abandoned. Another great video Ethan. thanks
Yes the owners probably in jail and the wife or whoever was murdered is probably murdered and they're probably in jail and therefore can't pay
Not necessarily a crime. When my ex died at home alone of natural causes the sheriff's department flagged of the entire house in police tape. Until he was ruled a natural death the site was a crime scene. My mom died alone but the hospital she was taken to ruled her death as a natural death so no tape was used. My ex's tape was left up until it had an owner again.
Was not a crime scene, was used for training police officers for different kinds of crime situations
@@Maxine-vu8viI found my uncle deceased in his bedroom, no crime scene tape was ever placed ! I guess different states different protocols 🤷🏻♀️
In the thumbnail I saw a car in the driveway that's kinda weird and creepy at the same time! 😪
Looks like someone broke front door lock. A crime scene. Did any dishes make it to inside the cabinets? Wouldn’t the city or town mow the property if enough people complained? Reminds of that house in the movie “The Burbs”. Thanks for sharing. Can you ever make it into an abandoned automobile dealership or grocery store? 👍
Nice house. I agree with you about the kitchen cupboards.
Those are grow lights. It must have been a illegal grow op.
It makes me sad to see lovely old homes like this one just wasting away 😢
The kitchen! I kept trying to figure out the psychological 'why' (color design is usually used to 'draw' attention, to make a space look smaller or bigger, etc...) but this one just made me feel confused!
I like the rest of it!
Thank you Ethan!
May have not been finished with remodel
Really cool house with the charm of the old farm house charm!!loved it!!! Thanks 💖💖💖💖💖
It's a beautiful house. Thank you for bringing it to us. Take care and stay safe and healthy.
Great video as always Ethan and thank you for sharing it with us ❤️
I love when I go online & see a new video from you!
Beautifull renovation, mixed with a brand new black and white style on an original floor, amazing !!! Wonder why there is a hole n the floor . Thank you for this exciting video 👍
Congratulations on 100 thousand subscribers 🎉
That is a really nice house. I like how they were trying to update it but I would have liked them to stick with a less modern aesthetic. I liked the fireplace and that nice big room. Love all of the woodwork and molding everywhere. Nice staircase. The tiny kitchen would have been brighter if cabinets were all white and with a microwave built in somewhere. Like the little built ins in the bedrooms. Would have been a really cozy house back in its day. Crazy how things just get thrown into a garage. I wish this house could be saved. Wish it could be restored back to what it looked like in its youthful days. I enjoyed seeing this house although I know I’ve seen it someplace before. Thanks for this epic adventure Ethan. Take care be well and stay safe and happy!
The crime scene probably gas something to do with all those grow (dope) lights in the garage.
This just goes to show everyone you don't have to knock down these gorgeous, well made old houses to make way for new places the big bad wolf could blow down. It's a lovely mix of original and modern.
That's the new thing now, newer then 10 years ago, to have two different colors of cabinets for the top and bottom cabinets
That backroom with the small kitchen sink-bar was probably going to be made into a small apartment. Usually they are called mother-in-law apartments, but it could be a studio apartment for anyone. You should look into buying it. When you pay back-taxes on a property, the rest of the cost is usually not that expensive.
That was a interesting find loved it, great video!😊
I guess you always have someone with you. It's just creepy to see him lurking around. Put a bell on him or something.
hahaha
Hey Ethan...love this house ..like the built in shelves in every room also thise beds with the speakers 👌....lots of stuff been stored in the garage, wonder why🤔...great video as always 👍 stay safe well and happy 💋
It is creepy, especially upstairs and that crawl space, it is a great looking house though.
What ever happen to the family, it must of been sad they have to leave everything behind. 😢
Wow congrats on 100k 🎉
A nice quite video! 👏👏👏👏👏
What a lovely house inside!
Would love to know when the house was built, it has some old features no longer seen in modern construction. The door knobs has the original brass plates kind of gives it away.
Another great video ethan
On the interior designer, I will have to agree with you!
Wow thanks so much for this explore was nice to see the original floors and underneath the home was awesome true trees .I felt sad jus cant say in words the feelings jus sad . Beautiful home take care friend. Barbara Northern panhandle florida
Ethan, wow World Series Champions hat that's cool. This is a great video and keep up the good work, thanks! 💯 👏
I like his shell suit jacket too, very cool retro look!
Omg police tape. I wonder what happened. This house is nice, what a great find. I love your videos!!
This house look amazing Ethan and I love it 😊
One big thing wrong, No bathtub in either of the 2 bathrooms. And it would have been nice if you turned on your light for a second, to show the crawl space and then the other side of the basement. It felt like you took too long in the first room, then rushed the rest. That couch in the main room is a fold down.
Wow nice video of the home 🏡 that is abandoned 😮
That's a very nice house. 28 acres of land. Sounds like the property taxes are pretty hefty. As a guess, I'd say the walls are peeling because the place probably needs to have the roofing replaced. Kind of wonder what took place here with all the police tape. Maybe they didn't pay their property taxes. Or maybe someone died in the house.
Great vid and like that cool 80’s retro Nike wind breaker!
Loved this video 🥰
i love it . Thanks for sharing . ❤❤❤ Stay safe love ya
I know this is unrelated to this video ,,, i apologize !!
I was wondering if you had done a 100K video yet ??
Thanks for all that you do !!
Could be fun to have a 'best of' compliation. Viewers could submit their favorite explores.
The black settee is actually a bed couch. You lean the upstanding back forward to the seat and unlock a mechanism which lets you lay it back wards. Flat into a kind of bed. This is how these things worked years ago. Maybe changed now. Hope this makes sense.
Some of the homes are really beautiful
This is James Barrow this house can be saved and restore and renew instead of tearing it down
I love the glass table!!!!
Very beautiful house!!! 😱
Beautiful house I hope nothing bad happened there
Hi Erhan....nice find. I believe they left the chairs behind because one chair looked broken. I agree with the cabinets....one color or the other. It looks like it was originally brown and they changed top to white but didn't have a chance to change lower color on cabinets. Thank you
That’s a fairly new thing, upper cabinets not matching the bottom ones. I don’t care for it either.
Nice simple spacious house, those speakers are probably for radio listening or music with individual head phones a very solid well built house the kitchen was not that interesting but that chandelier in the dining room is beautiful bathroom nothing to speak of, great video thank you Ethan.
A shooting at a birthday party perhaps.... ?.... how horrific. Beautiful house. Ty for what you do. Keep safe. Ty for sharing.
Very interesting deluxe!!! I agree with one of the other commentors, it looks like the garage had the renovation materials that had not yet had a chance to be installed, probably in the basement, which WAS really nice n clean for as old as it is, especially thise awesome beams n stantions that held up the upstairs furst floor, being directly hewn from actual trees, like people had to do back in the 1800's, cuz that's all the available building materials that existed back when this cool old house was built!!! Not only the small windows framing the fireplace in the living room, but the long windows almost down to the floor that were built that way for more light, as there was no electricity then, so it was the style of that building era out of necessity!! The heat ducts with their metal checker board style floor grates for the furnace, the actual old wood floors that REALLY looked well preserved the built-ins in the bedrooms, the little angled niches in the upstairs bedrooms creating separate work areas in front of windows so you could designate them as a desk area or vanity or dressing table area with the extra needed light from the smaller windows, ALL these architectural features were very prevalent in that circa 1800 era of home building due to the management n incorporation of the living necessities of heat n light into the dwellings. Awesome find!!! Thanks for the post!!
Very interesting. Looks like lots of spending...all the new things in the brand new garage...I am guessing lots of unpaid bills...or possibly a death and so unable to finish. Enjoyed your video.
Great job dude
Some of the homes are so beautiful
I wonder why they just left because this house doesn’t look that bad and somebody just reed did this because the wood look brand new
What is the red in the shower... blood?! 😬 great video Ethan!
Very nice house. Yard can be cleaned
Hi Ethan 😎🏎💨,I wonder what the crime was hmmmm, anyway the house isn’t bad on the inside, all updated. I like the fireplace the brick on the floor and around the fireplace my grandparents had the same thing. I laughed about the coors light beer because that’s what my dad used to drink occasionally lol. Over all not to bad of a house. The weeds are way over grown obviously. Oh I did notice something and I rewound it a few times (not to be weird lol) but it looked like there was a door in the floor at the top of the stairs. I was wondering what that was. I liked the glass door knobs. In the kitchen I agree how the bottom cabinets should of been white to be honest. The floors aren’t bad if they were cleaned up. I really liked the back splash behind the stove and I liked the modern lights. The huge logs in the basement was really really cool,I have never seen that before in a basement for a house. The staircase was nice. The taxes were high omg $14,000 geez. That’s extra room was random with a kitchen that’s crazy lol but nice. They left a lot behind.Becareful going in houses that have police tape. Any stay your awesome self Ethan 😎🏎💨see ya next time 😁
The doll is used for acupuncture.
Wow so nice👍❤️🇺🇸
Beautiful place love those old updated houses at least they left the original hardwood floors that would have been so much better if they stained all the trim nice find so sad someones dream house I wonder if they lost it
Im so proud of you 100000❤
I love the house too!!!
Really like the outside, i find the inside very boring and has a cheap feel to it. Just not my style of house. Thanks, Ethan
This was a fun explore , Ethan! I love the mixture of old and new. ( Usually a hole in a wooden floor like that meant you could lift the board up, and store treadures ynderneath. We had one in our 1883 farmhouse. We also had the logs to support the main floors! We shaved the bark off when we cemented the basement floor. 1981. Thank you for this different explore. Oh, the long, and narrow rooms can be typical in an older home roo. I really enjoy the sloped ceilings, but i dont think you like like those spaces that much, tho.😊
Good one ❤
One last observation, you thankfully showed us one big closet, n I would have liked to have known if any others existed in this house, as a lot of old houses do NOT have closets or they are extremely tiny, due to the fact they were counted as extra rooms by the tax assessors n cost more property tax for the home owners, hence, the long thin strip if area along the wall in each bedroom that looked like a useless area due to its awkward size n placement in the room was for the old pipe made clothes rack that stood there against the wall holding clothes n a stand up mirror, to make up for no closet n not get taxed for housing your own clothes!!! Honestly, that REALLY was the common practice of the day back then!!!
Also I can see like furniture in the downstairs part of the house I guessing that was for staging for the house when people could come into the open house and look around. 😐
I really like this house. But I am wondering what was on the floor and you said i probably shouldn't show that.
Anyway, I watch almost evey video. I love that even tho you are in canada, you still appreciate the autumn trees!! 🍂
im back. lucky for you mr mclaren guy, it wasnt a turbo cuz then id have been pissed. cheers
Nice home.
the butler did it in kitchen with fireplace poker
No, I think it was Colonel Mustard in the drawing room with a candlestick.
Have they or are they tearing it down? As they always break our hearts and do.
love the windbreaker
The switches on the headboards look like they control the built-in lighting right below them
Those floor boards are worth a fortune. And I can't believe they left the bark on the support logs. It will make the log rot. It must haven't been damp in the basement.
I’d like to know what they intend to rebuild in its place? Is it possible to have bought the property and renovate? Hmmm?? I wonder .
I think this was murdered in the house that nobody wants to buy if it's working all those stuffs... forexample I'm have my body higher sencitive and feel spilit.
I’m thinking those headboards had lights in them.
Nice hiuse. Really beautiful. That fireplace in that one room was off centre. Loiked weird. Ive seen this before but cant remember who it was. Maybe the owners got arrested for not paying taxes or someone said it was a grow op. It can be saved. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
8:13 good design choices!
It looks like it was either being renovated when something happened or being renovated afterwards to clean up the scene and then abandoned. IKEA isn’t high end, so it was a budget renovation, the kitchen appliances are low to mid-range. It looks like they shopped at Habitat for Humanity shop for some items. The kitchen’s duo colour scheme shows they weren’t really good at decorating! As you pointed out the colours didn’t mesh but clashed.
They probably ran out of money by the time the finishing decisions were made, as it looks like it was taken down to the studs.
The police tape could be just a joke connected to the birthday….or it was during the birthday celebrations something happened & required the tape😬. Or it was stolen from a crime scene or a police officer was at the party.
Hi Ethan, Hope You are doing fine 😊😊👍😉
Is the CS tape the doing of jokesters? Perhaps someone in there before? ! Love the old with new... And the logs downstairs !! Any updates ?
I wonder if someone was killed in that house. It is a really beautiful house.
Wow cool! Is there anyway you can say what state this is in? Wouldn't it be creepy if you came back a few days later and all the drawers you put back were open again? Wooo👻
i love the house , except the design of the kitchens is non function for me . i agree Ethan to dark of flooring with the dark cabinets . Ethan is that a suite master bedroom with the sink an cabinets . Still always enjoy your house adventures.i get a creepy vibe in that house.
Good tour Ethan…I think they left because someone was killed in the home, thus the yellow tape? Would you want to live there after a family member died?
The floor in the kitchen looks like tiles in wood look. Looks like there are grout lines between. We are selling those in my tile shop.
