Benway's brother Shawn was home at the time of the shootings and called police. He was not injured. * NOTE: One identifying factor this is authentically the house is the ceiling fan in the living area. There is a photo taken, that Christmas before the murders, of the family in front of the Christmas tree. It appears they put a curtain up around the entrance to the den and the tree right in front. The ceiling fan can be seen in the picture above Daryl's head. The replaced boards in the Kitchen and master bedroom align with the alleged placement of the bodies when found.

There is a chance that's blood because cleanup is on the home owners and it can be VERY expensive for obvious reasons. If it's just a stain on an old rug, all it needs is to be thrown out, so long as it didnt seep through any cracks or the carpet itself. Maybe they didn't have enough to pay for all of it and just decided that they'd eventually rip it up.

Not a dumb question at all. If the owners die or the property isn’t able to be paid for by the estate , a lot of them go to auction . Just depends tho on if the house is even habitable etc. if not sometimes they are torn down but many times they just sit and decay.

It’s also possible I’m wondering why the plumbing is missing either. Somebody was killed in that bathroom but normally they would just clean that not actually remove the tubs and stuff. It’s possible that’s not winterized and the plumbing system is partly missing because when the crime scene cleanup, people go in if any of that blood was rinse down the drains they would go under the house and pull like the UV and stuff like that to get the blood out and the hair and fiber but I don’t see why they would do that if they knew who actually killed everybody they would be no need

This reminds me of a sad case a few decades ago of a young child actress judith barsy, she and her mother were murdered in the late 1980s the father killed both is wife and the child then set the house of fire with both bodies still inside and then shot himself in the head, so probaby like this the wife was going to leave him because of substance abuse and just like this he snapped and killed everyone including himself, one of Judith's last roles was a small part in the 3rd or 4th installment of the jaws horror movies in 1987...
