As a South African I want to say to you, show us the respect by making sure the people who is going to talk about South African culture and heritage is a) South African b) from the culture you talking about. We have too many fakesters out to make money milking our history.
The state of railways of South Africa has just gone down the drain, Station infrastructure is vandalized,Station becomes so neglected that no one is operating and there is overgrown weeds on the station.
But some youtubers on here are saying they are better. No way
The government needs to allow private sectors to come in and play a role because our government have failed us this thing of Tenders it's benefits those with social capitalism

This is so heartbreaking 💔 😢 I used to use the Train all the tine to work, back home sometimes and even from Florida to Westgate.😮😢
Horizon View used to be very busy with the ice rink just above the train station in the 80's(up the road)
then they gutted public transport

You need to visit most of South Africa 🇿🇦 trains stations. They all having the same problem. "Stations are looking like ruins". Some main lines trains have stopped running . It's old news.
I grew up around these stations. Its shocking to say the least.
It is sad what has become of our country but then again this is Africa & the people incharge of the country are only worried about fixing their pockets & do nothing for the people or the country
Our trains and stations used to be great, I always enjoyed riding them regardless of race I always met new people chatting sharing great stories, no matter how dangerous our trains became, it was a great time, I miss meeting people I miss the train rides so much
This is just bad 😔, used to board a train from Merafe(Naledi) to Horison(Roodepoort) during my college days... Was about R100 monthly ticket 🎫. So sad to see this damage
It hurts my heart i used train for five years every day to school from Roodepoort to westbury our kids wont know the train because of those criminals

The A and C...Security tenders, unfenced n unpatrolled boarders. It's worse. Failed state.
I used to catch the train to Roodepoort in 1982..stopping at those stations...There was nothing wrong with them then...😮 such a pity such thieves running rife in SA now..
What about alsberg trading station do they work on it
The railways must have accountants who control the money in the company.Ask them why the railway infrastructure is in the condition it is in.
