Really appreciate these videos man. My local range has started hosting a similar style match and I'm using your videos to help me train. The critique of other shooters is an especially helpful format. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to put these vids together!
Also, I really appreciate the commentary. Definitely felt like I was learning more than just watching the competition and going oh that’s cool. The gear listings on each competitor is very helpful as well.
Loved the play by play critique and recommendations you gave. It made it really easy to learn the pro's/con's of different positions as people took them.
The Hunting Gear Guy yes very good commentary, casual, non judging, pro, educated. Good job. It’s not quiet on the golf tee. I always notice people yaking it up at these matches.
I filmed most of the stages and I plan to post them but I'm headed to shot show tomorrow so it may be a week or two before I get around to it. Thanks for watching. Be sure to follow @longrangeshootersofutah on Instagram for exclusive content you won't see anywhere else.
I just shot in my first prs 22lr match shot 25 circles at 50yards on a bench wind was bad but i shot a 187 out of 250 with a 10/22 with a ksa bull barrel and a arken scope!
you do a great job listing the equipment used. Could you also list the type of ammunition used? It would be cool to see the ammo choices that the individual shooters use. You would expect the v22 shooter to be using midas+ but may be killing it with eley club.
What does it take to get a rifle "approved ". Can you use an AR lower with dedicated. 22lr match upper? See Compass Lake Engineering or Accuracy Speaks.
@@JOHNJCLARK, I figure $1000 or so for the chassis, $750 - $1000 for the Voodoo barreled action, then, say, $3000 for the scope (I might be a little off), but my maths puts that at around $5,000 for the rig. Spare magazine's, bags, ammo, practice ammo and various sundry accessories, you are looking at the best part of $7,000. As someone stated previously... HOWEVER, Ruger 77-22, $250 (used) magazine's, $15 (say) middle of the range Vortex scope $350 to $550. And for under a grand, You're off to the races...
@@neilb1619 The Vudoo barreled action is $1700. The J. Allen chassis is $1900. $3600 for the ATACR 7-35x glass. Jewell trigger $300. With rings you're at $8000 for the gun alone. Add a suppressor (and tax stamp) and you're at $8600 before mags, bags, etc.
Cz 455 tacticool and throw a vortex viper PST gen 2 on it. That will put you right at $1500 and IMO it will be the best 1500 you can spend on something like this.
It’s interesting to hear my position get torn apart by someone who has no idea why I had to sit that way or how much practice I put in the weekend before to find what worked with my physical limitations at the time. A little friendly discussion before posting something like this would have been the respectful thing to do. Now that I’ve been at this game awhile... and my sciatica no longer prevents me from bending my left leg all the way, I still won’t use the “right knee up position” on the chair. I find it induces side to side wobble.
I see a lot of you guys using the Warhorse Saracen bag. I expected to see more "Gamechanger", "Fortune Cookie" and other bags. Did you get a group buy discount, or have you all come to the Saracen in a form of convergent evolution? PRS is just starting in the UK and I want to just buy ONE good bag...
Neil B the game changer started it all but soon new innovations hit the scene and in my opinion the Saracen offers the most versatility due to its 4 legs. There were only two of us in the video with this bag, the others were just borrowing ours. Jim used mine once and ordered one right after. All the bags you mentioned are good solid bags that will fulfill this need but in my opinion the Saracen is able to adapt to more situations and it’s become my go-to. We’ll be carrying them in the next couple weeks so check back at www.longrangeshootersofutah.com/shop. We’d love to ship one overseas for you with an LRSU Sticker. Thanks for watching.
This is a great group of people to shoot with. Sadly, those positions required are not knee friendly to those who are no longer flexible. Where was this when I was 25 yrs old :).

This is an awesome video, great view into this match!

Took the words out of my mouth. Very professional, and...gear list. wow, Sub'd!
Great video and love your commentary! More please 😁

Really enjoyed this video great tutorial.
I would love to see more from the match from other stages

@@LongRangeShootersofUtah I agree with Kurt. Great video, great commentary. I would love to see more. Thank you for you work.
Good to see some fun .22 competition videos. Hope your daughter is doing well.
Such a fun stage! So glad I went.
Great video, love prs in 22 lr, it is quite challenging, especially when you are trying to remove a bipod while you are shooting a stage.
I do love me some 22. I just made a deal on a Sako p94s Range. I realy hope it gonna perform!
Great video, enjoyed the commentary and information on shooting positions. Thank you,

Excellent vid! Love the commentary, very helpful. Nice to know what equipment is being used.
Thx
Now with a BB gun. Extreme! Nice video. Always impressive stuff. Great to build a practice regimen around.
Weall need to be more like Craig. True alpha

Mostly Lapua Center X & Eley, some CCI standard velocity, SK & Wolf.
Need to say it again:) I love the suppressor on the 2nd shooter looks like a Yankee Hill
Nope, Silencerco. Much better.
Very instructional video! Thank you! Too bad you guys don't have a prettier place to shoot.
That range is ok, where we teach is much better
Can you review the Kidd supergrade rifle you are using?
I’ll see what I can do.
I learned a ton here. Thanks
Very good info. Now I won't feel like a total newb dorkmeister at my first match.
Would you guys think that a Tactical Solutions X-Ring would be competitive in this match??? 🤔
For the 100 yd distance and those three target sizes, what power were most using on the scopes?
Were the CZ's in the Base Class?

These matches are known distance correct?
They should add an Iron Sight division.
Was everyone sharing the $7k 22lr set up or did multiple people have the same rig?
Yes they were all shooting Jim’s Vudoo with the Jallen chassis & Nightforce
@@LongRangeShootersofUtah is that about a 1000 set up?

I'm looking to start shooting nrl22 and have between$1200 and $1500 wanting advise on best bolt gun and scope for my budget

Does everyone run match ammo?
Everyone except the newcomers. It's the only way to go if you want to shoot well.
Doesn't seem realistic that you're allowed to use sandbag rests... lol. Whole point is to simulate shooting off barricades?
If the rules say you can use it and you're trying to win, anyone with a brain would use the best tools at their disposal.
Long range 🤣
