What amazes me the most is that they all make it seem so effortless.

I believe it's that Gordon is a phenomenal player and can alter his tone to suit the style of the piece.
Awesome playing from all through, especially to Aaron, the daddy of the euphonium!!

He’s currently the conductor for the Motor City Brass Band in Michigan, as well as playing cornet in the Five Lakes Silver Band (also from Michigan) which his son Chris is the conductor of. Both of the Wards are amazing!

Hi, I was there and did photos of the concert but my question is - where is the video footage of the rest of the concert? I got photos of Allen turning his trumpet upsidedown. Richard and his crew did a great job with sound and taping.

This band certainly is a contrast to the little Salvation Army Band one might see performing on a street corner. These are top knotch pro soloists! How impressive! How about that cornet player! He has a tongue like a snake! You would be hard pressed to find a better concert Band of this level anywhere!

FYI - This is a mix of a few traditional Jewish wedding songs: "Chasen Kalle Mazal Tov" and "Siman Tov uMazal Tov", not the Call of the Cossacks. (Not sure where all that Bumblebee solo stuff came from!)

Those are paid by donations and money raised with concerts. Also the members in some Salvation Army Staff Bands have to pay a kind of contribution...
The reason why they play in a none-paid/none-profesional band is because they play with a special meaning, a special drive...which can not be found in any other band!
That's more important than whatever money....although I don't see that none of them did musical studies or are making money with music (teacher, producer, director)

S S means Save to Serve. Salvation army is a christian organisation bringing souls to Christ through Music, Fellowship and Outreach. God has given each and every one of these musicians a gift and they are using it correctly. If you should do some research you will see most musicians got their early start in music from the church. Some went pagan, some continue to glorify God through music. THANK GOD FOR ALL HIS MERCIES AND GIFTS!

... why does the cornet sound so much like a trumpet? shouldn't the tone be less bright?
On the other hand the entire thing was so well played, the I really should complain. Just wondering though.

Let's all applaud and glorify these men.
Look at me. I am amazing. Me, me, me. Pride.
How does this in any way glorify the Name of Jesus?
The focus is on themselves, not on the Savior.

Why so nasty M,Maclean? They play for the Glory of God & to praise Him & bless others..If you believe only the best is good enough, you have to put in hours of hard work to reach this standard, but it's so so easy to knock others isn't it?
