Its an interesting detail of the portrayal and art style that I think Garfield over the years has become less lazy in his depictions down to the origin comic strips, he's more often sassy and sarcastic than he was being grumpy and sleepy. So despite the fact I have issues with Chris Pratt getting into everything and not really trying much, this isnt too jarring.

Same thing here sure a lazy delivery is technically accurate to Garfield's personality but that's never really been how Garfield sounded, it never sounded like a voice actor phoning it in, it was always more like a very monotone yet sassy expression that had bursts of emotion which sounded like a lazy person was saying it. If we're not meant to judge a performance or a movie on a trailer them why make a trailer or include that performance?
