Actually, a very good movie. A typical plot trope, but overall very well acted and filmed. The lead was not an air-head blonde. The kid wasn't a typical Kenny (Kaiju fans will understand).
I find the music, in ALL movies, to be 1005 intrusive. A "should-be-gone-by-now" relic of the piano player at silent movie shows. I've climbed mountains, in dangerous situations, and there was no music playing. I've been in combat, and there was no music playing. I have attended car crashes, train crashes, and there is no music playing. It is NOT REAL LIFE.
I really love the shot that swaps to what I am almost certain is a north american forest when the planes going down right after it shows the yeren seeing it go over the hill.
