You have a headset, you have a PS3. Now let's combine them and enjoy our games with friends!
There are only a few things you need to do this;
3.5mm Standard Microphone or Headset
A 3D Sound card similar to the one shown in this video
Optional:
3.5mm Extension Cable
Sony Playstation Cable (Composite or Component will work)
Note: The Game sound will NEVER come through the 3D Sound Card, only voice will come through the audio port. The Sound Card is for Microphone only. If you want the voice separate from game sound (for recording purposes or whatever) then set the Output to System Default.
The 3D 5.1 Surround Sound Card will also work with this.

Ok, I only needed audio to come through my headphones because:
1. Monitor has no audio.
2. Can't afford expensive PS3 compatible headsets.
3. Don't care about chat and using the mic.
So I bought:
1. Sony PS3 AV cable.
2. Female to female adaptor.
3. Phono female to male 3.5mm thingy.
Went into sound settings and changed it to Scart etc and let it do everything automatic and it worked!!!! I live in the middle east so it took me several days to get this stuff from dodgy shops.

hdmi audio is always noisy and terrible for me but i dont have the original cable because i bought the ps3 second hand a while back

Please answer this question! If I connect my headset to the female to female end and the 3.5 adapter how will the sound come out? On a TV you use volume controls to make the volume higher or lower but how does this work with the headset? Does sound just come out? How loud? Please answer and thank you for this tutorial.

To use both audio and chat are these the correct steps???
1. Connect only the microphone in the sound card then configure it
2. Connect the RCA cables to the adapter then the headphone
3. Going to Video settings, setting to HDMI then audio to RCA
will that work?

Thank you! You're the best man, I thought I'd also needed to also order the extender because the 3.5mm is located very high on my tv forcing to sit my ps3 very awkwardly but I so happen to find a USB extender which pretty much solved that issue haha.
I have the the headset USB adapter plugged into the ps3 and my earphones into the slot on the adapter. also I have it set up on the ps3 but when I go into a lobby in cod it shows that I'm talking but people can't hear me :(
Same am for me the microphone settings recognize my voice but no one can hear me when im playing a online game none of the game sounds go to my headphones at all like he saying you can set it to do so but it doesn’t go through my headphones at all either The PlayStation 3 is a very good System but it sucks ass when you’re trying to play online games with headphones PlayStation 3

@@djpainkiller3326 I think av worked it out , the mic connects into the mic part on the sound card however you need a 3.5mm extension cable for the headset for it to be connected into the back of your tv 📺

Great video, I figured this out my own though. Very clear instruction just like what I did, I plug my own micro phone in even better haha. If you got a microphone laying around set it up plug it in and use it to chat.

I found using my Logitech G933 headset with my PS3 far easier. Wireless sound and mic, didn't need to buy any extra usb dongles or cables or sound cards, just plug the G933 dongle into the usb port of the PS3 and then connect the RCA cables of the PS3 into the included Logitech RCA-to-3.5mm adapter that comes with the headset, then plug the adapter cable into the 3.5mm slot built into the G933 dongle on the front of the PS3. For added fun you could also plug the RCA-to-3.5mm adapter cable into an external speaker sound system WHILE it's plugged into the dongle so sound comes out of both the headset wirelessly and the speakers.
Sound comes out of my g933 only in the left earbud how do you get sound to come out of both? I'v been looking all over the place to figure this out the online logitech manual dont help much and my g933 work perfect on pc and ps4 but i just cant get them to work right on ps3 can you tell me maybe how you got the sound settings my ps3 is hooked up via hdmi by the way atm i did try just the rca cables with the ps3 rca cables still only the left earbud working I'm just having trouble figuring this out.
Davy15 I assume you already have PS3 audio output set to "Audio Input Connector / SCART / AV MULTI". As for other options, update the G933 firmware to the latest build (if the latest version is already installed, force update), use a different USB slot on the PS3, or try a new pair of PS3 rca cables to test if the same problem persists. The fact that the headset works fine on PC and PS4 means it's probably not an issue with the dongle or the headset. Make sure that Audio Multi-Ouput is turned "On" in the PS3 sound settings as well. If all else fails, try setting up the headset with a different PS3. For reference, my PS3 model is the cech-3001a variant.

This shit saved me, i got a Corsair hs50 headset and it uses 3.5mm jack, so i tried a g633 logitech with usb and it didn’t work, it’s Saturday night and my monitor is a pc monitor without sound. I was screwed, would have to wait until monday to buy an adaptor for 3.5 mm to Usb to try my corsair out, but you said to connect the headset to the monitor or tv, so i checked out my monitor and there was a fucking 3.5 mm jack and now i can play Red Dead redemption at night, i’m very fucking happy right now.
How about the volume level? I cannot control mine :( and the volume level is too low for me.

I ended using a 3.5mm headphone splitter as the female to female output connection. It worked just as good

one way to use headphones is to use the optical digital out and then find a converter to convert it to 3.5 mm jack. they probly make toughs. or you can also get a converter that will take the hdmi and give you a hdmi out with no audio and a 3.5 mm jack where you can plug in your headphones. incase the other two options in the video don't work :)

@@syedrehansrh this was 3 years ago lmao, but yeah it works with speakers also, you can't connect microphone and speakers at the same time though, will not work. In my case that's what happened when I try to use both, but with headphones and microphone it works just fine with no problems.

@@syedrehansrh That's ok, PS3 is pretty much dead anyways, just save up for a budget pc which is much better than a PS3 now a days.
Go for a A320 Motherboard, and Athlon 200GE or 3000G, and 4 or 8GB RAM which can give you a upgrade path in the future also, just go for a generic 600watts psu and generic case.

It worked for me,I just got chat through the headset. I plugged both audio and mic jacks to the sound card.

It's called an audio and mic split. Look that up and it should pop up.
