    First off,outstanding product introduction,hook-up and demonstration. Secondly,this lil gem combines the best of both worlds...ol school tables style and new school technology DJing. I've been in love with DJing for 40+ years and just purchased my second,upgraded set up today. Phase will be my next purchase so I can enjoy the best of both worlds.Thanks✌️

    For those who need to know, combining Phase with Rana Seventy-two 72 would mean you will not be able to mix between real vinyl and a Serato track due to the fact that the Phono/CD inputs are combined into one in that mixer and it's needed in order for Phase to work. In the other hand, the S9 does not have this issue since Phono and CD are 2 separate inputs.

      @funky_9_ 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ArtWorked I’ve got a 62 which is like the s9 you described, but for those with a 72 would they not be able to use phase in aux in and reserve the cd/phono for wax?

    I have a very important question... based on the way you've connected your Phase DJ to your Rane Seventy-Two, are you telling us that "We cannot mix between a track from Phase and a Record Vinyl?" since they are both filling up the CD input from the Seventy-Two and no room for Vinyl input.
    What would happen if you plug the PHASE DJ cables to AUX instead? would this still work?
    Please advice or anyone who can help clarify this, as this is potentially a massive drawback, I always knew that sharing the input for CD/Phono was always a very bad idea.
    Thanks

    • @ClevelandTerry
      @ClevelandTerry 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a very good question. I would assume if aux had a line level input it should work, but you would lose your mixer functionality. At least that's the way it works on my S9 but the S9 has that dedicated line in. I'll have to test that.

    • @artworked
      @artworked 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cleveland Terry Bowens exactly, with the S9 its a no brainer, I have a seventy-two and will test it when I receive my phase Dj kit tomorrow. I’m sure it should be okay with the AUX, can’t see why not. If not, it’s a major major drawback

      @artworked 5 ปีที่แล้ว

       Cleveland Terry Bowens Hi buddy, I finally got my hand into Phase today and it worked like a charm. However, Serato will not work if you plug the phase cable into AUX... which means, there is no way you can mix a song from Serato and Real Vinyl using the RANE Seventy-two and this my friend... is a MAJOR FLAW.
      p.s. I've purchased a Rane Seventy-Two yesterday for the occasion and this will have to be returned tomorrow first thing. On top of the Aux issue, I was shocked by the poor Phono sound quality (surely due to the pre-am included for phono) Shockingly poor.

      alecman95 I’m one of the guys that come from a vinyl background but now use serato. For me I have a spare set of 1210s that need head shells and needles so this would be ideal for me. If anyone has any technics that need fixing this could be quite a cost effective way of keeping them running. The other good thing about these if they are as accurate as this video would suggest they kinda transform any shit turntable into something workable. I’ve played at a few places in the past where the turntables were on there last legs and this would solve all the skipping issues due to damaged tone arms.

      El Bacatran La Maldita Maravilla I don’t know man at 300 every turntable can become like a 12 now whilst retaining the ability to play wax if you choose to. Plus even the shitest turntables can become usable now. Broke/used turntables plus phase= cheaper entry point for kids to get into the scene.

    So can someone confirm if the audio interface in the mixer is being used? What is the blue cable doing? I want to know if this needs an audio interface as well or if it works without. So can I use this with a fully analogue mixer.

    • @SeratoHQ
      @SeratoHQ  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Yes, the mixer in this video is still being used to unlock and use Serato DJ Pro.
      2. The Blue cable is connecting the Rane mixer to OP!s computer, which is running SDJ Pro.
      3. You will need a Serato supported interface or mixer to operate Phase with SDJ Pro. You can use an analouge mixer, but a supported interface will still be required.

    • @speciesunknown8279

    • @crewchief507

      Only for charging and accessing phase features. No USB needed to work. It's already plugged into the mixer via RCA cables which sends the wireless signal to each individual phase units. The only USB needed is the one from your laptop to the mixer itself. Hope this helps :-D

    • @eskei83

    • @eskei83
      @eskei83 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Species Unknown you mean the sticker lock feature? so that it loads the track always to the sticker position? no unfortunately not. maybe Serato correct me but I think Phase is not sending a „full“ Serato control tone. It sounds like a 1 kHz sinewave to me. Serato tone is way more complex and also sending needle position on the record. I think Phase can’t do this because A it’s not the official control tone sent and B I don’t know how Phase could detect in which the sender sits on the record. so you i think at that stage it’s not possible to make sticker lock work. maybe they can firmware update at a later point and make it work, but I think it’s very very complicated to implement.
