- It's Day 14 of Vlogmas! We'll post a video each day through Christmas! Today, we visit downtown Saluda, NC, an adorable small town, perfect for a daytrip from Asheville NC! We visit the Wakey Monkey cafe for some chai, then explore the town! It is such a great place, filled with nice and helpful people. We loved the architecture of the buildings downtown, many of them historic locations! Finally after several of the restaurants were closed we were able to visit Green River Eddy's Taproom and Grill for lunch!
This is our life in the mountains, in Hendersonville, NC (near Asheville, NC, Brevard, NC, and Greenville, SC) in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Come hang out with us as we kick off the Holiday Season!

I live in saluda! Such an amazing town 😍
Saluda, Tryon and Brevard is my favorite towns in Western NC. South of Tryon is Landrum SC and it is a cute little town too.
Thanks for the tip, Ralph, we'll check out Landrum the next chance we get. Thanks for watching :)
Saluda is my second home. ♥️ The town is full of hidden treasures.
We loved it too, and can't wait to go back to see more! Thanks for watching!
I am adding this to my towns to visit
You nailed it. cute towns dotted all along the mountain roads. Very friendly folks and usually good food.
The bakery is the best!
So glad you made it! It looks like you had fun and you always look so happy. Since town is busy on the weekend Monday and Tuesday are quieter, So sorry you missed some of the great stuff. Wild flour, Mewdlics (teas and spices ), the Spot…….Our mayor serves the ice cream at the hardware store where you were. Come back again someday, and visit Pearson’s Falls. Sara would like the “green” roof on the restroom and Kurt would love the other worldly moss covered bridges.
Thanks so much! We had a fantastic time at Saluda even though some of the things were closed. We will definitely be back soon to check out more of the town, especially the things you mention! We can't wait to go to Pearson's Falls - it's on our short list! The green roof and mossy bridge sound like things we will definitely like!!! Thanks again!
We love Saluda. Every time we take a trip to the mountains we somehow end up there whether we want to or not. Such a super cute town and so close to some great hiking spots!
Y’all need to get down to Highlands before the holidays end. So cozy and quaint!
Oh thanks Jeff, Highlands is a great idea! We've put it on our list!! :)
Cute little town! There's another cute little town not too far from Saluda, less than 20 min called Tryon. Super cute!
Thanks Dena!! We went there today on your suggestion!!! :) It was great! Video coming tomorrow!
Thinking about going for the day with my boyfriend to celebrate our six months soon, and I'm a very anxious traveler so I like to research and find out as much as I can about the place I'm going to. This video was super sweet and a really good resource for me so thank you for making it!
Thanks so much for watching! So glad the video helped you out!!! :) Happy 6 months!
I love the Wakey Monkey. Their breakfast potatoes are so good!
Ohhh, yum! We'll have to try them out!
I love the blueberry cream cheese danishes 🤤
As a saluda local.. the bartender for the green river brew depot (right beside the wakey monkey you went to you can see it as you’re walking up the street.) I love watching these videos and seeing all the locals I know in the background 😂
Cute town! I love visiting all the small towns around. That's one of the best things about living in WNC :) Just remember the next time you visit, don't go on a Tuesday :D
Yes! So cute!! I know, no Tuesday visits, lol!! :)
Sara you are the star of TH-cam.
thanks, dad
Haha! Thanks Dad!
Loved this episode! I always enjoy driving through Saluda. Glad you were finally able to get Kurt some food
Thanks so much!! Yes, Saluda is so nice! Yeah, Kurt needed some food for sure, it was good to finally find a spot that was open! :)
Glad you found food. It nice to see small town business, so may old town have closed down.
Yes! We were glad too! It was nice to see a small vibrant town!
Great video! I will have to visit but not on a Tuesday:). Usually, small towns are closed Sundays and Mondays so that stinks that they were closed on Tuesday.
I live there
Same
Love to go up there and visit. Their is a funny story about Perry Como in the railroad museum. ;)
Haha, we'll have to look up that story. Hope you enjoy your visit and thanks for watching, Patrick :)
@@KurtandSara always! I started watching you after I went through a procedure this summer. I’m in a lot better place now and have actually been up to western NC a few time - not a far drive from Greenville. I love seeing your adventures, positive outlook but most important I love seeing a couple happy and enjoying their time together. No pressure but y’all set a great example. Maybe we will cross paths one day!
Great video - i liked the coffee shop’s name and the inside kind of reminded me of Scouts in High Bridge ❤️
Thanks Jen!! Yeah, it is similar to Scouts! Haha, the name is funny! :)
Great video, guys! Tell me, if you had to choose, do you prefer Saluda over Hendersonville?
Thanks so much! Saluda and Hendersonville are very different - Hendersonville is much bigger, in more of a valley, and is closer to more stores, etc. Saluda is more secluded and in the mountains. I like both for different reasons! Too hard to choose!!! :)
We spent 4 weeks in Saluda due to Hurricane Ian we couldn't get back to SW Florida. We fell in love with Saluda and now....We're looking for a home in the area, ready to leave Florida.
We hope you find a nice home up here. Saluda really is such a nice area with friendly people. Good luck with your search :)
Have you found a home yet?
Saluda is full 😂
As a local if you want to visit please just park fully in the parking spot Main Street turns into a one lane road due to people not knowing how to park
@@brandoncantrell6216 oh my gosh for real! I see so many trucks with the back end halfway into the road 😂
