We've lived in mountains of Waynesville for 36 years so far and hope to never take it for granted. We see three mountain ranges from our living and dining room. Our home faces East and we watch the daily sunrise. The mountains are a different way of living and we thank God for the opportunity to live here.

I live in Swannanoa (I love it here - it's close to both Asheville AND Black Mountain) but Waynesville is one of my favorite towns in WNC. It has a bit of everything and for outdoor activities, especially hiking, you can't get any better than that. Like you said, you're close to both the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests, AND the Great Smokies! Take your pick. And the downtown is just the cutest. I love to come and just walk around the downtown. Love, love Waynesville!

Its not untapped, at all. To much traffic already. We love our residents, but its not a large area. Roads and restaurants are clogged in the Summer. Its already turning into a little Asheville. People keep chopping holes in the mountains and building huge houses. Ruins the view.

WNC is the most bland, depressing area I’ve ever lived in. No culture, no diversity. It’s mostly older, conservative white people. Very little variety in cuisine. Sure, the landscape is pretty, but it’s smattered with trailers and mobile homes, (unless you live directly in these little downtown areas),run down or abandoned buildings, and nearly impossible to make close friends.

Making fun of tree huggers in the literal 'tree hugger' capital of the country because you're "a little more conservative here" ~ seriously? People in AVL area all love trees, and the cliche'd tired making fun of "hippies" which isn't actually a thing there isn't a great way to do business. Black Mountain, Weaverville & Mars Hill are great alternatives for anyone looking to buy. Still a mix of conservative and liberal + many somewhere in the middle, but mocking conservationists? Ick

Oh my, lol. If you are looking for a "liberal area" while looking in that area, it is Asheville and the immediate surrounding areas! Crime has skyrocketed in the area under democrat policies, city maintenance is garbage (don't worry, you WILL pay more for it (because with dem policies you have corruption by nature)). Let's go liberal areas, woo, hoot. I will say that if you are looking for the most liberal messed up places in NC that might also have a good view, Asheville is one, parts of Wake County are too (not the same type of view). There's a bunch of libtards there too!
Then there is the mac daddy democrat stronghold of Durham county, no good views though, but lots of crime like every other democrat shithole. Smaller, and sandier is Anson county in NC. Once again not many good views, but loads of corruption. Look for Boone, NC if you want a half way decent liberal community that also has abundant mountain views. The only reason they are even "half way liberal" right now is because of the college..
Why North Carolina anyways?? Are you in NY and pay high taxes for nothing, or something like that? I would suggest the wonderful state of California!!! Awesome place, with billions of great views! I hear they don't pay taxes either!!!!! Good luck in you endeavors!
