You all saved us old musicians lives with your beautiful music and youthfull energy. Many of us are sitting home for the first time in years wondering WTF happened. Some of us are literally hanging on for dear life. So between Knower and Clown Core you're making it happen. I've been turning my musical freinds on to you guys and they love you too. We're in our 70's now and it's good to know that you're carrying the torch. Louis and Genovive, Sam and all of you have no idea what you and your music means to us. My sincere thanks and respect...... D.
It definitely warms the heart to see so many young cats coming on strong, ferocious, artistic first and foremost, and just crushing playing all around. Someone below mentioned Thundercat and Mononeon, I'll add Vulfpeck, Cory Wong and the Wongnotes, and Pamplemousse. I hope TH-cam is paying you all well for the traffic you generate!
I really love the sound of Louis's drums. Short and clear punchy sound, live. Not as most of modern drumsets - superclear, bright, digitally as from fu.king Pro Tools. And all his brakes and emotional power he plays - they are all at the point.
@@syrus3k Louis is an outstanding drummer but still doesnt really hold up against most of the big name drummers. Take Larnell Lewis , Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Nate Smith for example. He definitely has potential to be at the level of skill in some time though
It's so cool to hear a well-groomed horn section playing this. Just takes it to that next level. So organic. Just kinda grabs you by the Boo Boo, don't it? Louis and Genevieve always hanging out with the cool kids.
Petter 9000 on bass, funky AF and awesome time-feel, groove. Louis Cole laying it down and Genevieve singing like an angel. And Orchestra playing great, arrangements super.
Joakim Milder, your arrangements gave me real goosebumps, bravo to you, the whole big band and Knower, so much talents on that stage, awesome !!! PS : tenor sax solo was superb, Genevieve and back vocals too !!!
Holy shit man these are the best versions of these tunes i have heard by far and ive heard them all each to their own, all great tunes, these two are incredibly talented! big respect to all the musicians too, just incredible!
4 people can't hang on, 🤣🤣😆😆. I'm getting a serious Prince & Earth Wind & Fire vibe with this performance! LOVE it! That quick string riff reminds me of the one from "Take Me With U" and I could hear Verdine White playing the bass line, as well as The Phoenix Horns playing the horn lines. Woulda been cool if Knower could have collabed with Prince & EWF! And Genevieve and Louis are FIRE!!!! 👍👍👍👍
OMG! What is Louis Cole is doing all night long ? Incredible! On the way to a genuis. Thanks for creating and performing at that great collaborations and all the stuff.
She is so unique and such a royal badass. Just seeps style and inflection and delivers more intention and d e option than most people can pick up on with even several listens. Awesome. Just awesome. And fyi, if you are reading this Gen, I have truly MASSIVE experience in the biz as a FOH and MON engineer who has mixed EVERYTHING, from death metal to our local world class jazz big band very similar to this, where I am the engineer of choice, and also the “of choice” for several “Voice”, “AGT”, runners up, as in, next to final contestants. As far as I’m concerned these ladies and gents have voices unmatched by any other worldwide. I’ve mixed Tibetan throat singers, Shankar tabla, Egyptian traditional music bands, Zakir Hussain, and the list goes seemingly forever. I note all of this to exemplify my diversity. KNOWER is an EXCEPTIONAL outfit. Know this. KNOWER must KNOW how special they are, not let it get to their heads, and hopefully approach the balance required to sustain such endeavors. I say approach, because equilibrium is never found, only sought. Peace and love, with strength towards unity, and defiance towards injustice.
The beginning of the video description only mentioned artist-in-residence Genevieve so when the drums came in I was just like, "damn this drummer is killing and also doing a great job copping Louis's style"... then the camera switched to Louis and I lost it
All those well deserved credits given here, I'd like to point out that incredible big band arrangement what makes this song shine like no version before. You made my day.

I keep coming back year after year for that bassline. There are good bassists, there are great bassists and then there's this.
Yes!!!
Jacob Mann and that’s how you hang on
Do another interview with Kacob collier
indeed
Jacob Mann Certified!
Nice to have Genevieve up in the front of the mix - her voice is so pure! Also MAD LOVE for that bassist - big band bassists are 🔥

@@petterolofsson9721 Very impressive playing and tone
Was thinking the same thing!!
Indeed. Slayed it. Must be insane to play with Louis.
@@petterolofsson9721 Way to do right by Tim Petter... sounded great!!!
2:01 you can hear the crowd slowly realize how sick that bassline is
Damn right!!!

I know the love is being (correctly) directed at the bass player, but holy shit, this whole band is on fire, singers, brass..the works
Petter 9000 on bass, funky AF and awesome time-feel, groove. Louis Cole laying it down and Genevieve singing like an angel. And Orchestra playing great, arrangements super.
Sensational bass player
We agree!
So inspired by what Louis and Genevieve are doing....
Me too! How could you not be

Michael Jackson would love that. Congrats for this beautiful music .
What a compliment! Thank you so much
02:00 - What a MIND BLOWING bass!
The voices at 5:35, during 4 seconds, just beautiful, beautiful harmonies, awesome.
As many others have said, the bass player on these Knower/Big Band vids is just a joy to listen to. The pocket is just ridiculous!!
The sax solo I didn't realize I needed on this song! It all makes sense now!
Yey! Thank you for watching, have a great friday!
Genevieve is incredible !!! love her so much
the fact that you did the ending 'ooos' made me cry
Great taste in music-- and the "ooo" section of this song is one of my favourite outros ever!! 8D Wonderful to catch you in this comments section.
Wish they did a full song similar to that part.

that bassline makes me want to buy a bass
Do it
can confirm having a bass is a lot better than not having a bass
the bassline makes me want to be a bass
I read this as "the bassline makes me want to buy a house," which, you know, fair also
This is the new bittersweet symphony.

This gives me hope for the future of music.

Never knew that the Swedes could rock so well so far north of the globe.
Sweden rocks harder than anywhere else. They are responsible for Meshuggah.

Killer!
Genevieve's eye... ouchie. 00:51
I also saw it, poor one
My guess is she worked her ass off getting ready for this...Who Cares?
Exhilarating!
❤
Some might say that the drums aren't mixed well since they sound a bit like the "room" sound but I think it's perfect for the groove/overall sound
Love that shout out to Prince with the horn stabs.
Prince didn't invent stabs. That's a white people thing, they kind of invented the instrument.
Ooooooowweeeeeee! 🔥
