@@raptorbandarchivehe's an excellent drummer for sure! Sam Wilkes is a BEAST on bass too! I don't always like the mixes, sometimes they seem to have the drums too loud. However I love the sound of the fast RnB fusion jazz kind of stuff. It reminds me of Dirty Loops, Snarky Puppy, Vulfpeck, Scary Pockets, those kinds of groups, which is great company to be in.
That's because live sound engineers always bury the vocal. They're too scared of feedback, and hate vocals because they're all amateur guitarists or drummers. Or something.
I wish I was young again. This is monstrous live playing. I've been a fan now since I 'discovered' them 7 months ago. As a musician of some years and seen everything and found everything too boring for words, seeing these guys play has been an inspiring revelation. I want to be young again. I'm 63 next birthday.
Yip, I'm 56 and travelled to London to see the gig last year. There's always great stuff out there just waiting to be found. More power to you guys and thanks so much for coming to Europe.
That's awesome. So glad you came down to O2 Islington, your support is everything. May I add, my mother was dancing on top of a chair at the back. She's 63!

It's funny how things work. I discovered new artists (Domi & JD Beck) and Thundercat through them. In paraller, I discovered Vulfpeck and through them I reached out to Louis Cole. I started to follow Louis Cole to then know Knower just to see that Dennis Hamm, Thundercat's keyboard player, is playing keyboard with Knower. Crazy.
Hard to even know what to say about this. So much energy and raw talent. It makes me think of the 90s, complaining about the death of fusion/progressive jazz that showed so much promise in the 70s. But maybe I spoke too soon. With bands like Snarpy Puppy and Knower and Vulfpeck and Corey Wong and Louis Cole's solo work and so on, "contemporary, progressive jazz, fusion" is alive and well.
Yeah. Though I'm more a vintage prog rock guy, since the eighties the idea of virtuosity on your instrument has been downplayed for decades. These hard funky breakbeat influenced jazzers are reigniting the flame
Thank you so much for posting some high quality footage of the Knower Combo online! I've been waiting to see them in HD like this for so long. Thank you thank you thank you!
THE BEST PERFORMANCE BY FAR - ANOTHER LEVEL !! Take it from me, even the artist PRINCE would have been moved by this, very few reach this spiritual level in music.
Greetings from Wichita Kansas. The home of PIZZA HUT. Love the shirt, G. I just recently discovered y'all and wanted to say thank you for restoring my faith in unique music. Boundless talent, grooves like no other, and FUN! I can see that you enjoy what you do. God Bless you. Respect and much love to ya's.
I saw this Blue Whale gig and it was completely off the hook, wish they'd post the entire set. Killer LA homecoming show last night at the El Rey... they were funny & on fire as always. Gendel & Hamm were MIA.... will they return?
Cuando pensé que todo estaba perdido, aparecen ustedes y me devuelven la tranquilidad que tendremos buena música para rato. Muchas gracias muchachos!!!
COME JOIN THE KNOWER / LOUIS COLE DISCORD: discord.gg/h3darfx
Finally Genevieve’s voice is mixed loud enough. Great video!!!
True.
I would kill to hear a this quality live version of Around: they all suck
Louis Cole is my favorite mix/master artist. So good. Finally something different after so many years of stuff being mixed the exact same way

What a nice message. Youth never leaves us with energy and love like this! I hope KNOWER will be playing in the background of your birthday event!
Nothing can stop you.

Knower sounds like what every Sega Genesis game soundtrack was TRYING to sound like.
This might explain why I love them so much. I like to think Louis and Genevieve heard Toe Jam and Earl and Sonic 2 and made a band
Yup. Nearly two years on and this is still basically the best thing on the internet. Bless this shit...
Amen.
I'm back 2024! 👍
Timeless shit...
This might be the best footage we have of Knower... including from Knower themselves! Whoever edited this, you are amazing.
Thank you, baby.
I find it annoying, I wish they just showed the band playing. the editing is distracting and you can't see everything.
@@pelgervampireduck tough shit
@@area51pictures Amazing editing...how many vid-cams capturing at once on this specific song ?, all hand held ?

Louis, his playing, his compositions, and arrangements all kick major arse. Such incredible energy, syncopation, musicianship, technique, etc.
Best Genevieve vocals in this vid imo, amaaaaaazing
The energy in this is through the roof

Saw the keyboard player play with Thundercat. That guy can shred!
Dennis Hamm sure does!

Absolutely stunning live singing
This live mix is how it should be done.

Don't know about Vulpeck being fusion jazz, more like fusion funk for those cool cats
Oh, that bass line.. makes me stankfaced every time I hear it, Sam Wilkes' basstone with octaver is
something branded for me.
Genevieve sings so good! Not only beautiful, but also very well! Luis Cole? He is a monster! And the guys, that now I know, are incredible!
0:41 that "woooo" added +5 extra funk
better and better! this is the best live version so far!
Bob Wilson a amazing drummer from the legendary band "Seawind" among audiences taking pleasure :) !
My moonization Is that Bob @3:10? Very cool if so.
Energetic as hell! The rhythms go directly to feet and arms!
Kudos to the person holding the camera for not being tempted to shake all the time!
There's more than one (:
this makes me want to run 7 miles in this 90 degree heat
Your heart would be working overtime for sure
Knower will be opening for RedHotChiliPeppers this week in Milan, Rome, in Poland and Latvia---wish I could be there!!!!!!!!
This is some good video editing.

Love these guys, and this is one of the best live videos on TH-cam! I can't believe it doesn't have 1million+ views.
Best live version I've seen of "Overtime" forever... And I have seen thousands!! Thank you!
Ain't being funny but is this the best keys solo in documented Knower history? Mr Wilkes seems to bounce off it extraordinarily too. Stupendous!

Love this! Serious production quality too
Wonderful!! Knower's live performances deserve this high quality of footages/videos!
Nice, you can hear them nicely on this one.
These guys are fucking awesome!
Yup... This is still bangin'.
Techno with pop and jazz elements......Should it be on top of the world. Its so unfair.
That's just fantastic
first time i hear 'em live with a decent mixing. people tend to leave the voice too low every time. this one sounds great
True. It's great to hear Genvieve's voice properly foregrounded.
I could listen to this over and over, Great band and great live performance. Thanks for posting!!
As per, Sam takes over the band 1:45... He's like- "Wud up?"
Genevieve giving it all!
This band is absolutely fantastic. I don't even have the words for that. Either one of them is talented as fuck.
how did I miss this ! HQ knower live, freaking awesome
Wow it's like the Chick Corea Romantic Warrior version of Overtime ! I love this too !
Absolutely incredible! My new favourite band!
Insane stuff ! And the guy from the audience shouting "Oh my god" at the end was in perfect time ! 😁
Fabulous version !!!!!!
This is the one that should be on their channel
...there will be more Javier. :)
Funny after commenting on this about a year ago I'm actually gonna see them in Glasgow next month, ya dancer!
LOVE the keyboard solo!
This Funk and groove man.........

Pretty sure that that dude plays keys for Thundercat as well, what a beast
Dayum right. His name is Dennis Hamm
I haven't decided if Louis Cole is a funky genious or a sick man yet. Still: This is the grooviest thing in TH-cam today.

Except that we had Jacob Mann on keys instead of a sax, it was the same line-up playing in Glasgow last night. They tore the place up with this tune.
