Tate became a superstar and a media darling that day,. This game put him on the cover of Sports Illustrated and propelled him into the Heisman conversation. It's a shame that season fell apart but I'll always remember this game because Tate indeed put on a Heisman performance.
I was at this game. It was amazing. I was especially amazed that, on their last possession, ND chose to throw the ball on 2nd and 3rd down, I believe. Both passes were incomplete, and it left Michigan with enough time to engineer the last drive, with Michigan scoring with 11 seconds left in the 4th quarter.
Man, with the way this game went, and the passion between Rich Rod and Forcier, you'd be forgiven for thinking this team went on to win their first Big Ten Championship in five years. Watching this in 2022. :)
You do know that the clock starts on kickoff when the ball is touched, right? And that the Notre Dame returner touched the ball before it went out the back of the endzone, right? I'm guessing "no" on both of those.
hey... i'm a Michigan fan, and the refs took a TD away from ND. In the first half they threw a screen to #5 and he took it for the score, but the refs ruled him out of bounds, when he wasn't. Michigan game through in crunch time, but that was a iffy call...
Not as good a Denard Robinson who beat him out the next year and who was getting more playing time by the end of the year when Forcier wasn't as effective. Credit to Forcier here though, this game was legendary; though many people forget about it now after the Denard Era and the first ever night game in 2011.
i could watch this all day long. over and over LOL! especially Stonum for 94 yds and a TD on the kickoff return! What a block by Odoms, #9, the other return guy, to spring Stonum (1:43).
When the crowd noise swells on Stonum's kick return TD, right after he makes his move to the open field.... Gives me chills. There really is no play in football like a kick/punt return for a TD.
One of the greatest commentators called it so well at 4:02: "And they'll go for it on 4th and 3... Everybody up for the Irish...GREAT MOVE BY FORCIER! RIGHT UP THE MIDDLE! TOUCHDOOWN MICHIGAN! God, I can never get tired of seeing that play. Just thinking how good Forcier could have been with better coaching.
that announcer said seconds away from a program changing victory. i"ll tell ya what a program changing victory was. last week after illinois blasted michigan for the second straight year. illinois became the new ole" grey ghost, leather helmet, storied, legends of the big 10 forever. illinois is a big 10 storied, legends program.
I wasn't expecting to get that overturned, either (frankly, to me, it looked like there wouldn't have been enough to overturn regardless of which way it might have been called initially). I think it's because the replay official couldn't see any green between Allen's shoe and the white of the sideline.
Jonathon Kogowski no offense but if USC got the extra play after Leinart fumbled out of bounds than ND had one second left on the clock. The refs in both games screwed ND. Running away from the coach like they were paid off. Hopefully no such questions in two weeks. I respect Michigan as a school and cheer for them unless they are playing ND. #GOBLUE #AndGold
ball was touched on the squib kick giving it 9 seconds. and cry all you want about the one second. we went through the same shit when we played MSU a while back (04 i think). get over it, its football.
As a Note Dame fan, I have to say that 2009 team was the biggest waste of talent in school history. However, look at that defense: small and slow. Weis did a piss poor job of developing players.
5:52 i didnt watch this game just heard ppl talkin about it on other videos but ND did get screwed, should have been 2 sec. left on the clock even the announcer said it. You can say it wouldnt have mattered but ive seen a lot happen in 2 seconds
@maizenblue44 the truth hurts i know.....but sadly the truth is the refs did cheat us out of that game....i know the truth hurts.....but just accept it!
Now with Woolfolk out, RR will have to train some more thugs in the secondary to hold/mug receivers like they did with Floyd,Golden and Rudolph last year. Since we don't put names on the back of home jerseys, uofm fan, the new guy on 9/11 taking Golden's place is number 6 Theo Riddick. Your dbacks will recognize him as the guy flying past them.
@michiganmoon Over the clear pass interference at the end of the game that would have ice the win for ND. Golden Tate was clearly held but the big ten ref forgot to throw the flag, also the call that took away Allen's touchdown, and the illegal celebration or whatever they call this crap that was called against Allen. Game over if they call the clear PI, but no way the big ten ref was going to do something that stupid against his own conference.
This game easily makes the top 10 that I attended in the 20 years I went to the games.
Only UM game I saw live. Was about 15 rows up directly where the winning touchdown was caught. Feels like it was yesterday. Go Blue !!!!!
Brandon Minor will forever be one of my favorite Wolverines

Great game, a great day for Michigan football!
Y does it never get old watcing this?
One of the loudest crowds I’ve heard at Michigan Stadium. Great game.
still no idea how Minor didn’t become a star in the NFL
I was at this game and remember thinking, wow, I might not see a better UM-ND game in person. And then I went to the game in 2011.

4:03 Is what you are looking for.

i'm a bearcats fan but forcier or however you spell it is sick!

Here's hoping that 10 years later, Michigan's 2019 season will look a LOT more like this offense! #SpeedInSpace
4th and 3, that was the greatest juke I ever saw.
Goddamn...how GOOD, was Tate Forcier?! I wish he had gone to class.
Not as good a Denard Robinson who beat him out the next year and who was getting more playing time by the end of the year when Forcier wasn't as effective. wow, they should be ranked now.
i could watch this all day long. over and over LOL!

It wasn’t bad coaching. It was a bad attitude. The dude didn’t want to do the work.
@@Dustomaticthis is beyond false lol
May the Forcier be with you.
that TD run by forcier was the best college qb run this year.
i love when michigan beats notre dame because i live in northern Indiana and the look on their faces for the last 3 years priceless
Why does it stop at 0:56? Sheeeeeeeet!
I love how Weis is trying to make a case to the refs at the end but they just run away up the tunnel.

parkinggod ,
"Perhaps a program changing victory" Haha not quite.
man i was so excited for the rest of michigans season after this game!! But then...................
Isn't this the game where ND fans said we screwed them because there was supposedly still supposed to be time on the clock left?
Jonathon Kogowski no offense but if USC got the extra play after Leinart fumbled out of bounds than ND had one second left on the clock.

#GOBLUE
#AndGold
lol are those Charlie's kids at 5:35? GO BLUE
Brandon Minor the wounded beast...he had a career that never took off because of injuries but he was perfect for that O
And then ND whupped UM 35-0.
OH IM WAY BEYOND MAN CRUSH AT THIS POINT
The play clock on the TV screen is NOT the official play clock
I NEVER GET TIRED of watching Michigan beating Nutter Dumb. Coming this September 2018 Michigan and ND play again...GO MICHIGAN!!
i'm really fellin that kid kevin koger at tight end. GO BLUE!!!
@dandandamattressman they didnt get blown out of their games though. most of those losses they were right in it.
stevie brown is good

@jcannonier49 Tate is not even going to be the starter next year, Go Bucks!
Agreed. I'm so used to seeing Michigan get burned by mobile QBs over the years, that run gives me chills every time.
Let's do it again tomorrow! GO BLUE!!
@wesleyt105 No shit
Oh but 5:41...
I love hearing him yell "TOUCHDOWN MICHIGAN!!!"
awesome commentating, even millen
Love this Vid. Go Blue!!!!
lol Notre Dame cant stop the Forcier
5:52 i didnt watch this game just heard ppl talkin about it on other videos but ND did get screwed, should have been 2 sec. left on the clock even the announcer said it. You can say it wouldnt have mattered but ive seen a lot happen in 2 seconds
I wonder how much money the big ten refs got after this one, probably a nice payday for them.
@maizenblue44 the truth hurts i know.....but sadly the truth is the refs did cheat us out of that game....i know the truth hurts.....but just accept it!
one thing i noticed from watching this game...there were a lot of hot girls from notre dame in the stands
Man that was a great game i to am getting a man crush on Tate lol.
i thought there was still 1 second left when he fumbled
25th, according to ESPN
Great game by Forcier
Refs don't block and tackle punk.
Denard wont win the heisman because 1. his team sucks and 2. he has shown weaknesses as a passer against good defenses. sorry, aint happenin
@tooter330 We beat an SEC team in 2008 the Tebow Gators but OSU wouldn't know about beating SEC teams LOL......
GO BLUE
Good Bye Tate Good Riddance Rod
@xAxLxExCx getting a few extra seconds doesnt guarantee a ND win, yes it gives them a better chance but still
go blue
@maizenblue44 nah....i wont get over a game that notre dame got cheated out of
@NicKxWeekZ They've sucked for the past 10 years, Michigan doesn't look much better these days.
@notredameswarrior1 Michigan vs Nebraska in the 05 alamo was probably the worst called game i have ever seen. it happens to every1. get over it.
lol i was talking to my friend about that
oo? you beat notre dame? congratz?
the zit picking chick will go down in michigan football history at 5:42
except for the chick at 5:35...ew
@maizenblue44 i know probaly more about notre dame than you about michigan
hahahahaha michagan hasnt won a bowl game in 10 years....go bcuks...:D
