I think this was the most amazing Michigan-ND game (and maybe the most amazing UM win) ever. I stayed up very late, hoping against hope, that Michigan might actually find a way to score a TD in the final 27 seconds of the game. Just one of many great, miraculous type finishes in which Michigan found a way to beat Notre Dame. I never get tired of ND lose to anyone, but especially to Michigan!
Been watching NFL my whole life, but this was the game that got me addicted to college football. Michigan and Notre Dame under the lights. Such an amazing finish.
Michigan might just have one of the most underrated receiving cores in the NCAA. There isn't a bad receiver on the team! Martavious Odoms was a starter for michigan the last 2 years and now, he is probably the 4th or 5th receiver on the depth chart. Don't underestimate these Michigan receivers or the defense. Everyone knows what Denard Robinson can do and teams gameplan around him, but it still doesn't matter. Watch out for Michigan this year! Go Blue!
Florida Gator fan here, born and raised, and I have to say---this might have been the best damn football games EVER. Hail to the Victors--way to hang in there!
I live close to ND, but I'm a U of M fan... no matter how you look at this, both teams played their hearts out and both teams have every right to feel good about how hard they played. I am just VERY glad U of M won!
Love the MSU fan that watches Michigan winning this game! I give credit to MSU for a great season, but as the season went on its obvious that MSU had its same mistakes every week while Michigan got better and better and better and better. If we played head to head right now...hmmmm. Next season should be great!
The turnover at 7:16 basically summed up ND's system failure for this game. I remember thinking at halftime that the Irish would need to completely fall apart to allow Michigan to win and that's exactly what happened
@Gvanmachineman I think that's actually right on the border of where a shoulder-block becomes a block in the back. That's not usually called, especially because Roundtree didn't use his hands.
@steelersforlife777 what you seem to not be understanding about comparing this situation with the 2006 michigan vs. osu game is the difference between the regular season and the post season. the osu michigan game was the final "regular" season game, in which undefeated michigan lost their perfect "regular season" record. Michigan state went 10-2 in the regular season, but is considered 2nd in the big ten after a "post season" game against wiconsin.
@DaveJ721 I'm guessing that they ruled it a muffed kick instead of a straight-up fumble, which would mean that it can't be advanced beyond the point of the muff.
@TheZooCrew thank you for your input. it was very helpful and really supplemented what i know about the attitude over at uofm (arrogant, boisterous, acting like you're better than everyone else, etc...) if you haven't noticed, i simply just really enjoy pushing "ThoseWhoStayUofM's" buttons, and college rankings is one of his major "clicks".
Does anybody know of a good way to get a rip of the ESPN 3 (internet streaming) feed? I've found programs that record what plays on your screen but then I'd have to play the entire game without moving the mouse or doing anything else to make something pop up in front of the video. I really want a complete rip of the game without the bottom ticker as seen on ESPN 3.
@avocadoman3 i thought it looked like the dude fumbled before the ball broke the plain of the goal line but it's a tough angle to determine if im right or not
@17DEMONHUNTER theres a difference between a typo and just flat out misusing a word... my typo was from me being tired and just typing carlessly, resulting in one slip of my finger, where as yours was you completely throwing out the wrong word. and it absolutely was blatant. you're trying to tell me that it's understandable for a ref to miss a call like that? everyone else saw it, why couldn't they?
@parkinggod it wasn't a muff, Collinsworth picked up the ball, had possession and then fumbled, Robinson picked it up but the ball was just inside the 1 when his knee was down, if it wasn't the last play and had it been reviewed it would've been Michigan ball inside the 1...
Not much to say besides "WOW!" I know it wouldn't have changed the outcome, but why weren't we awarded 6 points on the last kickoff? It looks pretty obvious to me we scored a touchdown.
@parkinggod Refs rule of thumb is if the player lands on his face its an obvious call, lands on his side or back, it's usually a judgement call. But hey, he was probably so excited watching the play happen he wasn't even looking at the block
Oh i'm so sorry for this jaw dropping error. I am a 15 year old fan, and the only sport I follow is College Football. Notre Dame is more than just a football team to me.
@17DEMONHUNTER the stat that matters is the score, yes. but when determining the talent of offense and/ defense, stats are stats. and they represent what really happened in the game (to a certain extent). "i actually wished you guys good luck" yyyyyyup...
It's funny how Notre Dame outplays/dominates teams for 95% of the game, then commits unforced errors: bobbled snaps under center, dropped passes when wide open, easy missed tackles, etc. and hands games over repeatedly to teams on a silver platter when they have the game won! never gets old!
@avocadoman3 Don't know for sure, but my guess is that it was ruled a muff by the ND player and that it can't be advanced beyond the point of the muff.
@longlivestarscream the reason michigan's defense is ranked #7 is because they've played terrible offenses that can't score points (aka cupcake schedule). the only defensive stat that looks good for them is ppg. georgia's D however, is ranked 3rd in overall yards per game, 11th in passing yards allowed, and 17th in total rushing yards allowed, all while staking up 20 interceptions in the season. (all after playing lsu and boise state, 2 of the best offenses in the country)
@parkinggod It can only be a muff if the party call a fair catch, or if no one on ND touched the ball. This was clearly a fumble recovery and a touchdown at the end of the game. The only question would be if the ball crossed the goal before he was down. However I would say that it was and the fumble at the end of the run was caused by the ball hitting the ground inside the endzone.
Awesome play call at 9:09, but holy shit Vincent Smith's a beast. The horrible blocking almost ruined the play call, but he just made the Notre Dame players look silly.
@avocadoman3 if it said 42-31 or 41-31 it would really knock the game down a notch. with such a hyped up game with high expectations the ending score of 35-31 truely shows how great this game was. GO BLUE
I think all mich fans would agree with me on this statement: I would love the chance to play in the B1G Championship game with a chance to go to the Rose Bowl. If we didnt win then the capital one bowl against Georgia would be a fine second choice. Next time MSU fans, if you are in the position to play in the B1G Championship game, but are to afraid because of what bowl game you would get if you lost, then give your bid to play in the championship game to Michigan and sit on the couch and watch.
@xHaterofHatersx yes you are right, i am a michigan fan but we played most of our games at home. But one thing to consider......michigan is coming back to its glory
@xHaterofHatersx it makes perfect sense dude, its the exact same situation, only bama is getting another shot and michigan didnt i know we didnt deserve going to a bcs game before some other teams, but when i said we earned it, i meant we earned being considered, we finished strong and you guys didnt, and even if we didnt get the nod, msu still doesnt go to a bowl game, you have to be ranked at least 14th to even be considered
@kryer981 oh for sure! I mean last year's cocktail party was between 2 very mediocre teams that featured both teams trading a lot of scores, but there were still plenty of sloppy plays that day. Though still a great game, there was just something magical about the game and atmosphere on Saturday Night at the Big House.
@Gow3Mw3Bf3 2 in a row at home vs. michigan? wasn't the 2010 game in ann arbor? and yeah, you beat nebraska and ND, but we beat iowa... and michigan...
@17DEMONHUNTER but the fact that you look at this game as an epic victory and a well played game on michigan's side says that you are a fan with a biased viewpoint. ill give you the holding calls that were missed, but regardless of whether or not #7 intentionally tangled up the receiver's feet, it was to the letter a legitimate pass interference call (accident or not).
@xHaterofHatersx possibly. she definitely wouldn't be able to run as fast as him tho. although i don't believe denard has ever thrown the ball 2 yards behind his back like cousins did two weeks ago.
@headstrong420 you keep saying "we beat this team who beat you", but that doesn't mean shit. you know why? because the a>b>c argument doesn't mean shit in the head to head showdown where c>a. and go ahead and blame the wisconsin loss in east lansing on montee getting hurt. i haven't heard anyone else pull that excuse, so i'm sure you're all alone on that accusation. but again, if you really wanna pull the a>b>c, i can say we beat iowa, the only team uofm and msu played on equal footing, in iowa.
@17DEMONHUNTER trick/ gadget play: "Trick/Gadget plays are plays that are designed to appear to be one type of play while in reality is another." so... this category would include the draw play and the play action. the draw, sell as if you are going to pass to draw the lineman in, when in reality, it's a run play. the play action, sell the handoff to distract the defense and make them think you are running, when in reality the quarterback is dropping off to pass. tell me those arent trick plays.
It's wonderful Michigan football is finally getting back on track after being in pretty bad shape for too long. I like it that Coach Hoke and his assistants are playing a way better brand of football than Bo Schembechler's horrible stodgy brand when he was around!
id like to point something out to those who say denard cant throw and would be nothing if he couldn't run. he CAN run. if he ran a 5.3 40 he'd suck.. but heres the thing ..he doesnt run a 5.3 40. denard is a fantastic athlete who happens to have a strong arm, an unusually good passing ability for a guy that fast. he isn't andrew luck..so what?
@dayday69 sure... that's why msu won... not the 8 sacks on denard, not the fact that michigan went 3-15 for third down conversions, and definitely not the fact that the only reason michigan stayed close in that game at all was because msu kept giving michigan their 3rd down conversions through lack of discipline by giving more penalty yards to michigan than they could get in rushing yards, even with the best scrambling qb in the conference. msu dominated that game, the stats prove it.
@TheMitchellPWNS ohio state took a defensive recruit from a defense that has absolutely nothing to worry about... the way i feel is that it will take a few games for our offense to adjust, but teams can't win if they can't score on our D...

@xHaterofHatersx Mathematically speaking? was he doing long division on the sideline? i know how well cousins did against OSU last week.. Phonetically speaking he played like SHH-IT
I can't believe Notre Dame actually had a 24-7 lead at one point. I forgot how amazing of a game this was
I think this was the most amazing Michigan-ND game (and maybe the most amazing UM win) ever. Andrew Smith Agreed
Denard will be missed..😭
Been watching NFL my whole life, but this was the game that got me addicted to college football. Michigan and Notre Dame under the lights. Such an amazing finish.
This had been the best game I’ve ever watched, up until the Michigan vs. Ohio 2021 game this year. A different kind of emotion. HAIL. GO BLUE
Watched every minute!!!
Biggest Michigan fan in Texas!!!!
Greatest game in college football this year!!
I've been going to every home game for 10 years now... This is the best game I've ever seen. This was the loudest i've ever heard it at the big house.
one of the best college football games ive ever watched
Florida Gator fan here, born and raised, and I have to say---this might have been the best damn football games EVER.
Hail to the Victors--way to hang in there!
I live close to ND, but I'm a U of M fan... no matter how you look at this, both teams played their hearts out and both teams have every right to feel good about how hard they played. I am just VERY glad U of M won!
This was arguably the best game in history!! #GoBlue
Man I miss Kovacs
I love the old school refs and the unis. Also this Notre Dame team went on to play in the national championship after this year. Crazy
This sort of thing is what makes college football so special!
Best atmosphere I've ever seen at the Big House. Out of this world. An instant classic indeed. Go blue!
Love the MSU fan that watches Michigan winning this game! I give credit to MSU for a great season, but as the season went on its obvious that MSU had its same mistakes every week while Michigan got better and better and better and better. If we played head to head right now...hmmmm. Next season should be great!
The 2010s where very crazy. Sadly we havent been very good until now! GO BLUE 5-0
Hands down, this was probably the most exciting game I watched in 2011.
I was at this game when I was in college . Michigan football has come along way since these days.
The turnover at 7:16 basically summed up ND's system failure for this game. I remember thinking at halftime that the Irish would need to completely fall apart to allow Michigan to win and that's exactly what happened

man i love this game time and time agian
wached this game in Songtan S. Korea....Live!! at the Mystic bar.....great game!!
12:16 lol who let the hippie on the field?
ERABBITfmafiagod 34 That's former Michigan player Steve Everitt (center from 1989-92). He attends quite a few games.
@steelersforlife777 what you seem to not be understanding about comparing this situation with the 2006 michigan vs. osu game is the difference between the regular season and the post season.

Thanks for loading this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Gvanmachineman
it wasn't a block in the back, tree blocked him from the side...it was close though...
One of the best games I’ve ever seen! So crazy @ the end!
I can watch highlights of this game once a week........GO BLUE
This a certified hood classic
Does anybody know of a good way to get a rip of the ESPN 3 (internet streaming) feed?

I just got home from this game!!!! What a fricken amazing way to win. Go blue!!
Kovacs pick is freaking good scheme and knowing your opponent tendencies good coaching!
@17DEMONHUNTER theres a difference between a typo and just flat out misusing a word... my typo was from me being tired and just typing carlessly, resulting in one slip of my finger, where as yours was you completely throwing out the wrong word.

Who is this "us" you speak of? Which player are you?
@parkinggod
it wasn't a muff, Collinsworth picked up the ball, had possession and then fumbled, Robinson picked it up but the ball was just inside the 1 when his knee was down, if it wasn't the last play and had it been reviewed it would've been Michigan ball inside the 1...
nothing makes me more angy than this game. I was in a hotel wathcing the end of the game and i'm sure i woke up the entire building
By far one of the most crazy games in College football history! GO BLUE!

dude, i predicted the exact score of the michigan v notre dame game. NO JOKE
It's funny how Notre Dame outplays/dominates teams for 95% of the game, then commits unforced errors: bobbled snaps under center, dropped passes when wide open, easy missed tackles, etc. and hands games over repeatedly to teams on a silver platter when they have the game won! never gets old!
That was a huge comeback by michigan
@xHaterofHatersx
Are you ACTUALLY saying that Notre Dame played with more conviction against MSU than Michigan? What planet are you from?
Man that was a awesome comeback
@avocadoman3 Don't know for sure, but my guess is that it was ruled a muff by the ND player and that it can't be advanced beyond the point of the muff.

@parkinggod It can only be a muff if the party call a fair catch, or if no one on ND touched the ball. This was clearly a fumble recovery and a touchdown at the end of the game. The only question would be if the ball crossed the goal before he was down. @xHaterofHatersx ouch.. that's quite an insult considering how much time you have since you were laid-off from your seasonal job at Big-Lots.
Awesome play call at 9:09, but holy shit Vincent Smith's a beast. The horrible blocking almost ruined the play call, but he just made the Notre Dame players look silly.

Denard will play in the NFL in some capacity because he has great speed and is a serious competitor.
@thewalters1995
Read the title. This isn't "Michigan v. Notre Dame highlights." This is "Michigan highlights v. Notre Dame."
This was the first time I noticed Robinson Tebowing. Surprisingly, this game happened before the term "Tebowing" was coined.
at 10:19 did anyone notice the block in the back against Te'o?
Is Michigan ever going to have another night game?
The Miracle Under The Lights - GO BLUE!
@xHaterofHatersx yes you are right, i am a michigan fan but we played most of our games at home. But one thing to consider......michigan is coming back to its glory
yeah bro i was there too. will not forget this game.
anyone else notice there was 3 TD's combined in the final minute and 30 seconds of the game? :)
Section 16 Row 71 Seat 2
I'll never forget it.
@xHaterofHatersx
it makes perfect sense dude, its the exact same situation, only bama is getting another shot and michigan didnt
i know we didnt deserve going to a bcs game before some other teams, but when i said we earned it, i meant we earned being considered, we finished strong and you guys didnt, and even if we didnt get the nod, msu still doesnt go to a bowl game, you have to be ranked at least 14th to even be considered
@xHaterofHatersx Ok then, who would have been a more deserving team? if you are going to make a point like that then present the teams in question
They're living to that true motto, The Cardiac Crew of Ann Arbor!
@17DEMONHUNTER theres a difference between telling somebody to type like a person (nd not lik dis), and pointing out a one word spelling typo...
you mean 3rd time?
Musberger's right. Rory Roundtree made a heck of a play on that TD.
@17DEMONHUNTER trick/ gadget play: "Trick/Gadget plays are plays that are designed to appear to be one type of play while in reality is another."
so... this category would include the draw play and the play action.
the draw, sell as if you are going to pass to draw the lineman in, when in reality, it's a run play.
the play action, sell the handoff to distract the defense and make them think you are running, when in reality the quarterback is dropping off to pass.
tell me those arent trick plays.
I was there, in section 19 !
hes prob gonna be a jahvid best/ darren sproles type player
or maybe a punt returner
Who is watching this to get pumped up for Michigan vs. Ohio State?
It's wonderful Michigan football is finally getting back on track after being in pretty bad shape for too long. I like it that Coach Hoke and his assistants are playing a way better brand of football than Bo Schembechler's horrible stodgy brand when he was around!
id like to point something out to those who say denard cant throw and would be nothing if he couldn't run. he CAN run. if he ran a 5.3 40 he'd suck.. but heres the thing ..he doesnt run a 5.3 40. denard is a fantastic athlete who happens to have a strong arm, an unusually good passing ability for a guy that fast. he isn't andrew luck..so what?

msu dominated that game, the stats prove it.
@Gvnmachineman.. Te'o wouldn't have made the tackle anyways so that might be why they didn't call it
@Gvanmachineman I did. Very surprised that didn't get called.
Best. College. Football. Game. Ever.
@TheMitchellPWNS ohio state took a defensive recruit from a defense that has absolutely nothing to worry about...
the way i feel is that it will take a few games for our offense to adjust, but teams can't win if they can't score on our D...
Gary grey number four for notre dame won the game for Michigan! Go blue!
I dont know who feels worse for losing the game for ND, QB #11 or CB #4
@xHaterofHatersx I'm sorry, but since when is Denard equivalent to Michigan? Last I checked Denard was one of many members of the Michigan football team that is 6-0 right now. Michigan State isn't undefeated are they? Oh yea... they lost to Notre Dame. Not only did they lose, they were completely uncompetitive in that game. At least we were competitive. We won the game. MSU wasn't.
It's not hard to sound smart when you are saying things that aren't completely idiotic. Try it some time.
@17DEMONHUNTER thank you for pointing out my typo, you're really smart and it doesn't make you look like a complete tool
@steelersforlife777 it's not the same situation. bama had their shot at lsu, but to get their championship bid back, a string of multiple unlikely events had to happen, and they did... the reason michigan didn't get their bid back was the fact that they lost their final game of that year, losing an undefeated season at the end of the regular season, rather in the middle like bama did. your comparison is understandable, but false.
USC should put ND early on schedule next time so they won't have injured QB hopefully.
When Gallon caught it I found out that my pubescent voice can still go pretty high
@kingkhan2894 read the title. Michigan highlights.
@xHaterofHatersx
Mathematically speaking? was he doing long division on the sideline? i know how well cousins did against OSU last week.. Phonetically speaking he played like SHH-IT
I definately liked the Night Game. I especially liked beeting ND again!
