I grew up in Los Angeles, channel 9 was the worst back than, very low budget and it showed. They rarely showed any good movies or any good rerun TV shows, probably because they couldn't afford it. It wasn't until Disney bought the station in the late 80's that it got better, CBS now owns the station.
The first commercial made me think "Honey, it's an appliance store commercial, not 'Solid Gold.'" And obviously Crown Zellerbach (a paper company I have heard of) sold products on the West Coast that this Ohioan never heard of...This Nice 'N Soft toilet paper had a mascot that was...essentially...a naked little girl with a hat on? WTH? And I never heard of Tuf 'N Ready paper towels either, but at least they didn't have a naked version of the Brawny man as a mascot...I never heard of this Mrs. Casselman's (sp?) stuffing either.
0:00 Is this an SNL skit? Has to be in the running for the wackiest commercial ever. 😊 1:09 Michael Bell on the voice-over for Datsun. 2:49 This Thrifty jingle is straight out of the early 60s!
Great 1979 commercial breaks!!
What a great days there are
I remember Jerry West when he was coaching the Lakers doing the Winston Tire commercials with Sam Winston.
♫ You win with Winston Tires all-around ♫
1:23❤
I remember that commercial with the naked whatever it was .Weird
No weirder than that Datsun ad with the butts. 😜
Looks like George Wyner in the Winston Tires commercial at 1:43?

JENDALL714 they had Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, which decisively made them the best channel in the whole country.

Oh, an Ron Masak was on the Nice 'N soft commercial. Thought he was beyond doing regional commercials by '79.
You mean Mrs. Cubbinson's & it's available at Dollar General.
I doubt I would buy toilet paper from a nude troll. 😓
