I was brought up on this series as a young boy in the east end of London and still get belly laughs after all these years. We'll never see the like again. Absolute comedy gold.
@@AlanStevenson-Graham You do realise being a LONDONER that FOOLS was a complete rip off from Steptoe & Son, every episode including every characters name on FOOLS was previously mentioned in a Steptoe episode. Alby, Albert, Rodney, Del-Boy etc are all names mentioned in a Steptoe episode. Watch every Steptoe then go watch FOOLS and you'll see every episode is copied. Even Sullivan admitted copying Steptoe. Even the bloody three wheeled van was replicated from the horse 'n' cart. Doesn't Del-Boy and his stupid French phrases not remind you at all of Franky Barrow, right down to the jewellery, suits and long over-coat hanging off the shoulders. FOOLS was ok but has nothing on this show that Sullivan ripped off.
He was in another Steptoe episode of course as a card shark. You might like to listen to the R D Wingfield radio play entitled Test to Destruction, where Dudley's voice just cannot be mistaken for anyone else's. Yes a fine character actor although obviously a troubled soul.
From card sharp to head of the local labour party to crime squad detective, Martin's done well for himself, as did Frank Thornton who started out as a butler then had a stint as a travel agent then became an insurance clerk, not to mention Anthony Sharp who gave up a career in medicine for the cloth becoming a vicar lol
That's one reason these amazing scripts by Galton & Simpson never grow old. Same can be said for their Hancock's Half Hour storylines. One in particular from 1959 stands out 'Fred's Pie Stall'. m.th-cam.com/video/O_yEV5Rqo8U/w-d-xo.html
Legendary series. Sadly, the BBC don't repeat it anymore😔. They probably don't repeat it because the woke mob would have a meltdown or they want to flog the DVD's or whatever. Anyway, thanks for the upload, mate👍
These guys were serious stage actors thats why they are so brilliant, a common thread with that generation...today's actors could not do this, not effective, jus CCP/hollwood types

The copper is brilliant in this. This episode is gold
He is in several episodes, Think I have seen him as a conning poker player and a labour party representative and a couple of other things in this.

V funny episode. The things albert says!😀😀& the look on the detective’s face at what he says! Hilarious. Made funnier by the audience’s laughter 😄
Can't beat the old British comedy, love Steptoe and Son
My most favourite episode “ in colour “😄😄 thank you from a steptoe die hard from 🥝🥝kiwiland 🥝🥝😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
Brambell was an excellent actor absolutely excellent thell never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever be anything like him again
He was a great supporter of using public toilets
His facial expressions are gems !
Always prefer the early black and white broadcasts... Something more nostalgic about them. Thanks for sharing this this though!
Many thanks love this show 😂😁😂
Interesting when you know the radio version by heart. Thanks for posting this.
I can't believe this has been in colour for a whole 3 months and I've been stuck watching the B/W version!
Fantastic 👏
Dudley Foster as the detective trying so hard not to laugh lol
Rip dudley great talent unfortunately for his own personal reasons took his own life at 48 his talent lives in his work 👏 🏴🙏🏴

Harold wasnt wrong about documenting citizens just a bit early..

About half the episodes don't even have dates offensive lines in anyway so could easily be repeated
This is Steptoe and Son, not "Mind Your Buses" or "Oh No It's Thy Neighbour". I think you've picked the wrong comedy to weaponise.
But box set and your have forever than mad my child hood great amazing comedy
I never knew there had to repeat itself I know what was going to happened to DVD and BBC
Its on brit box , quite frankly it's better off there's on trash mainstream BBC
It's a pity the Diploma episode can't be uploaded
Isn’t the inspector the same chap who played poker in another episode and he used glasses to cheat ?
Yes he is 👍 His name's Dudley Foster
Yes and he also played The Labor Party local member
Old Oily, the labour party card-sharp car salesman.
Yes 😂, another classic, like to c that colourised
Yes
Thank you, for these
That man who played the inspector was in one episode as a card player and in the Labour Party
Best comedy ever
That woman in the audience shocked by it when he knocked the stuff over!! The skeleton had to go over!!! The vacuum cleaner stayed standing!!
Brilliant
You not got the episode where the two inmates brake in?
Divided we stand and desperate hours (the inmates one) gets taken down by BBC straight away
@@marthastubbs8321why is that?
@@marthastubbs8321divided we stand is down the list on here just watched it, king zorg flees harold we have king size fleas
The guy playing the detective has played other characters in this like the poker game episode.
Anyone got a time machine?
Exactly
One of there best
Happy days when the police were interested in burglary 😂... remember that ?...
