Nice work on the dirt track racer that smooth falcon is still worth the work but would need to be custom. the convertible would be a easy wind shield from a ranchero.looks like good project coming soon
I love the Falcon, that windshield looks great 👍 I didn't think you could get that fine of detail with a filament printer. Looking forward to updates on all three builds.
The color on the short track car is beautiful!! The paint looks like it laid down well too. I thought about buying the 3D truck, but decided against it. I use Rustoleum filler primer for layer lines on some 3D prints and it works okay. It might be useful on the chassis where you want it filled and aren’t worried about small details. Best of luck, I’ll be watching Dan! 👍
Thanks Mike, That's what I used, Rustoleum Automotive primer. It worked well filling in the lines. Its gonna require a lot of work but worth the effort.
That windshield look great on that car. Awesome job! The joy of glue bombs and started kits. Like you I love the process of turning it into something awesome that I fixed... Lol Sad to say the filament printing is like that lots of primer and sanding. Love to have the 3D file and try to resin print that one. Have not printed any body's yet but I do have a CJ Jeep that I'm going to try out soon... I just got a 32 Chrysler Lebaron started kit for $10 bucks total off of ebay and it looks good in the pics... Lol We sill see when it get here and yes they said it "Looks Complete" 🤣🤪 RIGHT! Thanks for the update and keep Bert in line... 😁 LLAP 🖖
I also have one of those 3D printed trucks. Some parts are smooth - some need some putty, sanding and primer. It's a long term project but I still think it is a cool design. Some of the lines look like carbon fiber - maybe that's a plus? LOL - I usually work on it while paint and glue are drying on my regualr builds. Don't lose the faith - stay with it 🙂
I hear ya Bruce, I working on this little bits at a time. Finally got some paint on this truck and gonna start wet sanding. I managed to cover up most of the lines with primer.
Sounds like that Falcon is going to be a Wild rod. I am trying to find a suitable brass replacement for the model master brass. The Revell looks more like a bad bronze or a yellow copper. It doesn't even look like any weathered brass, I've ever seen. The Testors isn't much better.
Your builds are looking cool Dan! I bought the low rider VW from that guy and it's the same thing! Some of the smaller parts don't even resemble what they are supposed to be. I'm going to build mine as well, hopefully it will look okay. 😎👍
I hear ya Mike! I few buyers already filed complaints against this seller it's the old bait & switch. I intend to finish mine and good luck with yours. I think I'm going to do a Public service announcement video pertaining to this matter. Thanks for sharing buddy👍
