Gu Jiusi at the start of the story was a lazy bum and typical spoiled rich boy however he wasn't a bad person nor an abusive scumbag like female's lead father. At least Gu Jiusi evolved into a responsible and independent man able to finally protect his family. He had a good grow emotionally and mentally.
