@@Krose333 Yeah, I am rewatching and totally got it this time. I think that's one of the hardest parts though of not speaking chinese - not being able to focus as much on the facial expressions, plus there's a cultural difference in how they express sneakiness sometimes.

I love both of the imperial ladies! How they handle the emperor here is a perfect capsule illustration of their personalities...the consort is direct and no-nonsense about saying "take your old-mother-hen silliness elsewhere", while the empress is very gentle and courteous in delivering just about the exact same response :D I do feel bad for the Empress, though. She's such a sweet, kind person, and you can tell that she's sad about not having the same strong bond of love with the emperor as he has with Yue Heng; he DOES obviously care very much about her, and Consort Yue treats her with great sincerity as a beloved sister, but she knows she's always second-best in their relationship. (What boggles me is how someone as gentle as the empress ended up having a daughter who's such a massive BITCH as that disgraceful, selfish, arrogant Fifth Princess.)

He kind of did, even if it's different to how we'd do it. Ling Buyi is called Shiyilang right? Apparently that means '11th son' or something. It was a way to show the public that he was pretty much counted as one of the King's children. Makes sense why he'd always casually dine with the princes

This drama sooo good but the most sad character was the queen.. how can she's be fine meanwhile all the time king, concubine, kids always talk about how in love king with concubine but with the queen he's just act like normal husband.. His first wife actually the most sad character in this drama.. always blame herself about all the problems that started from her kids.. about all those memories and never show the true feelings like anger to anyone
