  • "Die Wacht am Rhein" is a German patriotic anthem. The song's origins are rooted in the historical French-German enmity, and it was particularly popular in Germany during the Franco-Prussian War and the First World War. The original poem was written by Max Schneckenburger in 1840, and is generally sung to music written by Karl Wilhelm in 1854, seven years after Schneckenburger's death.
I do not own any of the audio or footage used in this video, all content belongs to their respective owners.
These songs are for educational purposes and do not reflect my beliefs or are meant to further a political agenda.

@@roj0riot once you learn the individual numbers (1-100), it's easy. you can just smash the words together. you don't have to have it all one word. you can separate it if it makes it easier to read. same goes for regular non-number words. German is very flexible and practical.

This was the anthem of Germany before it unified in 1871. It references the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, wherein Prussia defeated France, unifying Germany into the Second Reich in 1871. It was used as a patriotic song until 1919, when it was forced to give Alsace-Lorraine back to France as a condition in the Treaty of Versailles.

it wouldn't matter about beliefs of not it was made in the 18th century around the time of the German Empire what is not Nazi, it's a German Empire song what was still popular in ww2, I love how traditional songs can last so long a lot of German songs where made before ww2 you know the ones what aren't like Horst Wessel Lied is ww2, and Panzerlied is ww2 and there are a few other's, Erika is most common as a ww2 song put it was made in 1932 hence not Nazi Erika is about a flower the same follows with the miss understanding with song of the Soviet Union like Katyusha, most military songs are patriotic I say most because not all are, and when people say "Zem Mūsu Kājām" (Under Our Feet) is a German song it is not it is a Latvian SS military song it is ww2.
