    Wow! Great explanation, it’s really interesting the intersection between narrative and design. As an idea for another video could be great knowing the application for digital products and how they communicate their story to the users and how that can shape our designs. Thanks for this content!

    It's one of the best video I came across on storytelling for designers. The content totally comes from your experience instead of old school syllabuses that everyone will copy, was very insightful with real-world examples to relate & observe. I wish you would post more videos like this Carola. with lots of love - Hemnath :)

    Hi Carola! Thanks for all the great content! I’ve been binging your videos over the past couple days as I design my app interface for my startup. I love how you guide through Figma tutorials and I’ll definitely be taking the storytelling methods in this video with me as I pitch to both investors and clients. Keep up the great work!

    Loved it Carola!! I have been struggling with this a lot recently and thank you for such a great explanation. I loved how you set the story for the video itself, where you explain the narrative and then connect it back to the design world. Thank you once again

    Loved this explanation of the practical applications of storytelling in our work. Storytelling is one of those buzzwords that is ubiquitous in our industry but so few take the time to actually explain what they mean by it. Love all the examples you use.

    This is great content Carola, thank you. I hope you'll continue sharing vision and ideas around storytelling and presentation. Some questions come to my mind. Whether, for instance, you have to choose one of these techniques according to the context of the presentation, and if yes, what criteria exists to choose the right technique. Or maybe there are ways to combine these techniques.

    This is great! What I've struggled with when presenting my designs to stakeholders is that some people are very impatient and do NOT want an introduction with a narrative; I've been asked to give no introduction at all and just immediately show the finished design and not give any follow-up information before letting the room go at it. I'm still not sure how to deal with clients and other stakeholders who demand that method of presentation.

    • @carolapc
      @carolapc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In those situations you may need to try alternative methods, like sending out a pre-read with some of the context or still spend literally 1 minute giving some kind of context.
      Whoever tells you you have to show only that work clearly doesn't understand the value of framing the work with context and future thinking. You may have to spend some extra time with them convincing them about the value of taking a few extra minutes to set up the story.

    Hi Carola, just watched this video in preparation for a design presentation I'm doing and this really made my day! Planning to adopt the hero's journey for it :) One question I'm just wondering, is there a reason why you called the 3rd technique you shared the "undeniable story". I think its a really interesting idea but I'm just not sure why its called "the undeniable story", like why is it named as such :)

    Hi Carola, I have big problem presenting my designs. Im working in web agency, we have different clients and different projekts. Your video hepled me a lot, and I would say that there is a little lack of understanding for me: what should be said during presentation? What Im doing is something like - here is color, it represents this and that, and is suitable for (...), here is a typo - etc etc etc Its like am explaining obvious things. So the question from my side - is there possible that you made a video for this thema more?

    teachers take note, learn from the best, this could be a good place to start. @ Creala, any bet you would be good at teaching anything, just remember that things heard more than twice will most probably be believed and remembered. btw pro photographers have something called a soft focus filter.
